    "Dont Bother Me" is one of my favourite songs from With The Beatles. I played this album to death in the late 60s when I was little boy

      I did too, but I was 16, almost 17 when the U.S. version "MEET THE BEATLES" came out in January 1964. I LOVE this album so much and especially "Don't Bother Me."

    You bring a great spirit to your reactions. The Beatles were ultimate. 'All My Loving' is so casually good that it just makes you feel better than you just felt. The playing and singing is virtuoso within the genre.
    'Don't Bother Me' is written by a third string teenager...and it's fantastic.
    The quality and fidelity of these recordings is remarkable--a team of musicians and recordists at optimum output.

    Although McCartney originally conceived All My Loving as a country-western song (hence Harrison’s Nashville style guitar solo), it morphed into more of a pop song. Lennon plays a frantic triplet pattern that gives the song its unique motion.

    Cool. I've never seen that TV performance of "All My Loving". Not sure why they thought it important to show John singing dual lead when if anything it was George who provided harmony in the second verse. John was busy enough with those super fast triplets! And I've always liked "Don't Bother Me", since at the time you wouldn't find Paul or John coming up with something as smoky and sexy. Nice catch on the stop-start hooks in Beatles music. They're *all over* the early songs.

    • @gettinhungrig8806
      @gettinhungrig8806 Год назад +2

      Paul double tracked his harmony on this. In concert George would provide the harmony.
      Competitive John and Paul in the early days would lip sync each other's lead vocals, but soon grew up and moved on from that.

    These early Beatles songs always evoke a warm, wonderful feeling of hope and optimism. It’s hard to describe but their music went far beyond what was right in front of us. Although the times were tumultuous, their music, the anticipation and the relief upon arrival of the musical gifts they provided, was what we loved and lived for. Please check out “If I Fell”. The harmonies will melt you. Great work Luke 🌺✌️

    George Harrison's contribution to the Beatles "sound" goes beyond his exemplary sophisticated guitar-work. When all three vocalists sing together, and when Paul and George share backup vocals to John, or when John and George are backing Paul, George's contribution to their vocal sound is really obvious.

  • @debjorgo

    All Me Loving is sort of the standard love song with somewhat old-fashioned lyrics. But then Paul comes in rockin' for the chorus. He takes it up another notch for the coda. Great song. Both it and Don't Bother Me were on the debut Capitol album in the US. If I'm not mistaken, All My Loving was the first track they played on Ed Sullivan.

    It's kind of refreshing seeing them that young and smiling through the whole song, those live versions are very cute and the song quite romantic.
    I think George had a special thing whenever he was going through something because ended up writing amazing songs, this time sick in bed and bored, and even if there's still a long way to go before you get to 'Magical Mystery Tour' but I will love to see your reaction to 'Blue Jay Way', behind that one there is a story too, there are many others but that one came to my mind now.

    Just two examples of how genius they were in putting together harmonies and melodies....there is no "filler" on these albums! Everything is at high level. That is just astonishing if you compare the Beatles with other bands that issue albums with one or two "A" level songs and the rest are C or D level.

      I LOVE this album, besides the fact that it is the first album we heard from them back in January of 1964 when I was 16. It really ANNOYS me that many reactors here are told by SOME people commenting to SKIP this album. SO many seem to want to avoid these early albums, which is so ridiculous. They seem to think that those early albums are of no consequence. What they fail to realize is IF we didn't HAVE those albums, "BEATLEMANIA" would have NEVER happened!

    Good reaction! I like that you're doing the albums in order. (The only way, IMHO.) Just don't forget they released 63 singles, most of which were not on the albums. Their 27 #1 hits (USA & UK) were from the singles! Insane, isn't it? I can think of at least 30 more songs that probably would have gone to number 1 if the albums had been played on the radio back then. (Albums didn't play on the radio until the 1970's.)

    All my loving is such a genuinely good, sweet song that I can’t help but smile at. And yet it also has the power to make me sad for the simple reason that a doctor or nurse who treated John in hospital on December 8th 1980 said that this song was on the radio meaning that the last thing John would have heard was his friend singing “Close your eyes, and I’ll kiss you, tomorrow I’ll miss you” 😢

    All My Loving is one of my favorite early Beatles songs. I love the rockabilly feel to the song. Plus its just a really sweet song. There's a movie from the 80s called "Testament" that the song is featured in. Its about nuclear war and there's a scene where a boy dances with his mom to this song after they find some batteries for their cassette player. It was just a very powerful scene as humanity is slowly dying from radiation poisoning to heart this upbeat song from the Beatles reminding them of how things were.

    You could fill at least THREE more albums with Beatles songs that either were not put on an official album, or were given away to other bands and singers or were released ONLY as '45' singles with the 'B' side being as good as the 'A' side. In 1996, long after The Beatles broke up, they even released two John Lennon demos and polished them up for big hits, "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love". McCartney said to expect ANOTHER song by The Beatles near the end of 2023. Most people think it will be a song called "Now and Then" (another Lennon demo that the other Beatles have restored).

    Don’t bother me is George’s first song he wrote as a Beatle.
    The effect is Vibra/Trem a Vibrato Tremolo tube circuit inside the Vox AC-30 amps they used.
    It actually had a pedal wired to the amp, a silver stone with a foot switch drilled into it..
    It looks like an old rock Vox found somewhere in England lol…

    Man I really love these songs and I have always liked George Harrison's songs. Just wait till you get to his song Think For Yourself from Rubber Soul not too far down the road from this. And also, Paul McCartney put a guitar fuzz pedal on his bass guitar for that and apparently he was the first to do that, and the whole thing is just a brilliant song and George Harrison always had such an interesting take on things.
    And I think probably the next album you will encounter if not the one right after that because they were releasing so many at that time, but I always think of it as their second album, George Harrison does the most phenomenal Chuck Berry cover, Roll Over Beethoven.

    All My Lovin': Here they are lip syncing to the record. on that, it was Paul who sang harmony with himself. Live, it was always George who sang the melody after the guitar solo while Paul harmonized. Also the harmony backups ["OOO"] were always performed by George and John. Here there was practically no lip syncing to the "ooo's," on a shared mic, which was standard practice for the group. Note here, only Paul has a microphone!

    18 albums in the USA. Yes, they actually would've had more #1 singles but they would beat themselves out of the charts. Paul was "the cute one." I was born when my dad was 50 & I'd always ask him for the pop music station ti hear The Beatles. He liked them too. "All My Loving" is very bouncy & catchy. "Don't Bother Me" is that time when you've just gone thru a break-up & don't wanna be bothered by anyone.

  • @Kieop
    @Kieop Месяц назад

    Well that was weird. In All My Loving, they're just miming to the recording. In this song Paul is doubletracked at first and then he harmonizes with himself, with John and George providing oohs. In live performances George sings the harmony, sorry the melody. Usually when they're miming, George will lip-synth as if he's singing, but he doesn't here.
