I welled up towards the end. McQueen was working on the ideas in his previous shows with the bumster trousers and the cut-out frock coats. Using materials due to financial limitations and generating fresh ideas as a result. 10 years later the film 'Crash' would emerge, yet McQueen was playing with this theme already a decade previously in 1994. Some say it was misogynist, I'd say he was pushing the boundaries of fashion and taking it out of the respectable box. The 90s was a hedonistic decade in a different way to the 60s and 70s; here women could explore masculinity in different ways and with Mr. Pearl in attendance that worked both ways. I hope young people today can see this and understand gender was being explored and that gender fluidity is not an invention of the 2020s. It's been going on for a long, long time.
I only know these two so far 5:00 is "Those 2 Girls- Wanna Make You Go... Uh" 9:55 is "Armand Van Helden- Nrongo Ra Mrongo (Tom Flynn Strictly Rhythms Edit) "
Mr pearl looks divine
