You nailed it. They hated on him because he's white and did it better than ALL of them. He could sing, dance like a mf'er, entertain, he's good looking dude, talented and smart. The racism toward him was shameful. IMO the black artists should have been proud to see a white guy being raised on their music and being inspired by them to try to do it himself. Imagine you are on stage as a white boy in 2023. Now imagine doing it in 1989....at an all black club. Dude had stones and got screwed by the industry, but he still found a way to win! #iceicebaby

@@dealerslicenseops How dumb of you to say he was hated on because he's white did you see he was the opening act for the black artist. this is why your comment is so very ignorant, we the orignal creators of hip hop and other music forms black people have always been welcoming we don't care what color you are if you have the talent the gift and not coming to make a mockery of the art form, you will be accepted we new about Vanella Ice and other white Hip Hop/ Rap Artist and there is a difference and obviously you wouldn't no that with such an ignorant mindset (your belief) before the white community and if you have they would have to come to are venues where there would be Nooooo!!! white people around except for them and if that white artist or group had talent we blessed them if you didn't have talent you may get booed or laughed at and that happened with black artist as well if they were not good, but they still was welcomed. Black people are the most welcoming group of people there is you can coe into our commuties our churches, stores, music and so on and we welcome you just as long as you don't come with that (BS) but we are not welcomed in your communities, stores and etc. So thats why we continue to create our own and someone like you wants to come over with that (BS) Racist mindset, when we have never been about that thats why we our suspicious of people like yourself you our the ones we allow into our churches and stores and start to shoot everyone up and yet you say we our racist against Vanella Ice and guess what he's never said that about that black cummunity because we had to embrace him first and if we didn't embrace him you would never had known about him. And also something else and only you can explain this with your racist thoughts (mindset) why is it when a white person comes into our space, genre and do what we our doing why do people such as yourself always have to say this white person does it better than the black people who has been doing it before this person was even in diapers people were doing a thing before this white people ever knew about out thing and then you white discover it as you say and now you do it better than every black person before you, during and after just wondering. And before anyone preference this to all white people it is not because once again we the black community have welcomed everyone and we don't get that same love back in return and thats why we create. This is to @dealerlicenseops for saying they hated on him (Vanella Ice) for being white whoever (they) are when Vanella Ice grew up around black people and was around black people where do you think he got it from and learned it from he was around Hip Hop/Rap. There is so much thats going on in our (black) communities and our genre that you will never know about @dealerlicenseops and guess what white people are there and they are welcomed because they our a part of what we are doing they don't have your racist mentality. I don't expect to hear an intellegent response back nor do i need to because I've heard it all before from someone like you different face but share the same mind we all have, Now I'm done with you @dealerlicenseops just continue to muddle around in that racist mind space of yours. Cultural appropriation or something. Hip Hop is the biggest thing whites have no right to monetize. See what they did to vanilla ice? They tried with Eminem with the freestyle about black kim from when he was a kid. Probably would have worked had they aired it 3-6 years earlier. By that time, his place was solidified. Obviously someone will cherry pick a few examples, but I have come to understand the music industry is one form of our government's active brainwashing on the US people.

@Mister Happy So what does that tell you when a convicted felon who has spent over half his life in the system "sounds like" a "right wing goof"? Maybe there's something to what that right wing goof is saying. To clarify, I am not talking about petty things like which hairstyle to use, how to talk, etc. I am talking about someone being told they can't do something that takes skill/talent based on their skin color. Skill/Talent trumps skin color 1000 percent of the time. In essence, me and the OP are saying the same thing. I just took issue with Tweeze over generalizing by skin color : Whites wouldnt listen to the smart blacks! Nothing is ever split 100% blacks vs white .

My oldest son was playing Xbox for the 8 straight hour. I told him I understand that he has fun playing games with people around the world. We actually went and experienced things though. Sometimes we did dumb things sometimes we got hurt or in trouble. But at the end we learned consequences and rewards, while picking up life skills. We played Nintendo but it was only the center of our activities when we stayed overnight at our friends. I got my first kiss when we were running around the neighborhood and ran into some girls at the park. Couldn't have happened if I was playing video games by myself.

What do we have now? Lil Xan, 6ix9ine, Lil Yachty, & Lil Pump. SMH! I didn't like his music, it came off fake...that's the honest truth from my perspective back then, but like he said life is short and its all about fun and we take things too serious. With that said I listen to his music now because I realized that generation of music was great and just didn't appreciate it for what it was. Great interview and he seems like a great person.

Same, I graduated HS in 85. A lot of my friends loved him, but I never liked the whole persona. Then I went to race MX down in Miami, probably late 90's, and Vanilla Ice is there. At the rider meeting he raised his hand to ask a question. I was expecting, yo yo yo, what dis bout type of crap. What I heard was intelligent, respectable, thought out question just like in this interview. I instantly realized it was all an act and he did it for the money, knew what he was doing all along. My entire perspective of him changed that day.
Saw him at many race days after that. He always had a handful of kids that would follow him around and he was always nice to every one of them. One of these days I might even have to watch Ninja Turtles!

I’ve got to know more about his life experiences regarding SCARS and ADD. This information from Vanilla gives me chills. I had no idea he went through some depressing times. Is there a biography on him? He is brilliant and intuitive.

If you just watched Pat's recent interview with ex-detective, Greg Kadling, 39:08 is where you want to start this video.

Vanilla Ice has done well for himself. Dude worked his ass off and never stopped.
His career transformations are pretty incredible.
Interesting take on the 2pac murder. Almost makes me re-assess my thoughts. Almost.
Valuetainment is really kicking ass. I like the diversity in his guests backgrounds.
Wouldn't mind interviews with Master P or J Prince if he hasn't spoke to them yet.

This is a true gift! Robert is extremely gifted in business and I love how when asked how he keeps his money, he stands tall and says, Work. The way he said that says so much about getting up early and making things happen.
My mind just expanded on a whole other level. What the truck is his craziest memory... That's the scariest sh!t I have ever heard! Satan is totally in control of THEM. Glad to see he recovered.
