Yes, this stuff is great. I've used it on several of my rulers - including my big 24" one - and it really does the trick. It does wear off over time so you'll have to respray every now and then, but it's definitely the best thing I've found to keep your rulers from shifting.
Hello, I have a friend who used this and was pleased with it. You asked for ideas also and what I did was I went to the drug store and bought clear first aid tape and put small pieces in several areas of the ruler. This worked great on gripping the fabric and keeping the ruler from moving.
As soon as I saw your video, I went to my local quilt store and bought some! I used it on all of my rulers. I found I had to spray it lightly twice after that it worked great.
I purchased this after seeing your video. I even removed my other stickums (they were pricey). This worked, but wears off quickly. I sew almost daily and need to respray at least twice a week - right after the ruler slipped!
I'm sorry it's not working as you expected. I have not had to reapply on my rulers yet, and have been very happy with its performance. I know I will need to reapply eventually as it's not permanent.
I was so surprised at how well it works on all of my rulers. I did not spray it on my Quilter's Select Rulers, but it worked on my hexagon, my triangles, my long ruler, etc. LOVE IT!
Thanks for introducing us to this product. I am very interested as my 6X24 inch ruler always slips. How long does this last on a ruler. Is it a one time spray and you never have to spray again or does it wear off over time and you have to respray?
Thank you Diane! It's my Close Quarters Quilt. We have the pattern along with a step-by-step video tutorial in our website store. Here's the link if you'd like to take a look.
Hi Mary, Just ordered my Odif spray from Amazon. I have a question I would like you to cover. I want to do a self-binding on a quilt. How much, if any, do I need to trim off the corners to make them miter correctly?
From what I read in the reviews, it does not get gummy and it does not scratch off. I did not see anyone post that it collected lint, but you can remove it with their remover (listed on the can).
This is a very good product. After many, many uses you may have to spray it again. It has never gotten gummy for me. The can goes a very long way. This is an excellent product.
I washed my ruler, then used rubbing alcohol, allowed to dry. Applied the spray as directed. My ruler needed respraying after several uses. I sew almost daily and have to reapply the spray almost weekly.
I have read many, many reviews and I only saw one that said she re-sprayed her ruler after lots and lots of use. I think it would take a lifetime for me to go through an entire can. :-)
Holy moley mary. Its 11 dollars on Amazon. Gee whilliakers. Im 75 and just get social security. I cant afford that to be honest. The clear tapes only 4 bucks at walgreens. Im going with the clear tape. Thanks though for doing the tryouts on things to help..you are the best
You're welcome Marlene! I have another video where I give demonstrate the tape as well. Many options to suit your budget and all work well. Thanks for watching!
It is available in Canada. I saw it and purchased it at my three local stores. It was so great I purchased it for a retreat prize and for our local guild. It is relatively inexpensive. Under ten dollars. I have sprayed at least twenty rulers and I still have a decent amount left.

It worked REALLY well on my 6" x 24" ruler. Mine always tends to slip when I get to the end. This was a game changer!
I love the quilt behind you! Tell me about it!

Hi, thanks so much for that great tip! I’m getting me a can ❤❤. I also love that quilt, but can’t see the link.
So is this like the June Taylor basting spray?
I'm sorry, I've never used the June Taylor basting spray. Maybe others here have an opinion on that.

I have never done a self-binding quilt, so I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you. I'll add it to my list of tips to learn. Thanks for sharing!
Has anyone used this for a while? Does this get gummy over time or in humidity? Does it collect lint over time?

I found it helps to wash your ruler really good 1st then I had no issues with lint.

Has anyone used this product on longarm quilting rulers?
I personally have not tried it on a longarm ruler. I use the Amanda Murphy rulers and hers are already non-skid surface.
apparently not available in Canada
Did you click on the link in the description?
It is available in Canada. I saw it and purchased it at my three local stores. It was so great I purchased it for a retreat prize and for our local guild. It is relatively inexpensive. Under ten dollars. I have sprayed at least twenty rulers and I still have a decent amount left.
Has anyone tried this on long arm rulers?
I haven't but I don't know why they wouldn't work...
It doesn’t collect lint and doesn’t gum up
Good to know! Thank you!
I saw this demo a few yeas ago, but could never find it in any store.
The link is in the description. I bought it online.
Not a big difference in price, but now $13.20 on Amazon.
Thanks for sharing!
$40.97 on Amazon in Canada 😳
Thanks for sharing. Maybe a local quilt shop can order it for you at a better price? Sometimes Amazon is not the cheapest way to go as you said.
