- Port do Space Harrier feito por Kazuhiro Furuhata em 1988, para microcomputadores da linha Sharp MZ-700 e compatíveis.
Eu não sou o autor deste vídeo, ele foi gravado na mesma época do jogo diretamente do hardware original, pelo próprio desenvolvedor, provavelmente de uma fonte em VHS ou similar.
Não há o som original do jogo neste vídeo pois o MZ-700 não tem saída de áudio, somente Speaker interno, e provavelmente o autor na época preferiu não efetuar adaptações no micro ou gravar a imagem filmando um monitor. O jogo possui somente efeitos sonoros e música monofônica (beeper). Para não tornar o ambiente silencioso inseri uma versão remixada 8 bits do tema do Space Harrier.
No vídeo está sendo mostrado o gameplay até o fim. Infelizmente a qualidade do vídeo não ajuda muito, mas posso afirmar que dada as devidas proporções e limitações da máquina (caracteres fixos sem modo gráfico), é uma ótima conversão.
Observação: Para a exibição correta do jogo em um emulador, é preciso utilizar a ROM japonesa do MZ-700. A ROM européia apresentará caracteres incorretos.

I used to love this song as a kid and space harrier the game was just trippy as fuck. Also, the sharp MZ-700 to me is amazing, so many games were made for it and it didn't even have a graphics mode. Once you've got round that the "graphics" in a lot of MZ700 games is truly mind blowing. There was so many talented coders on the MZ-700 yet it was such a rare machine, you'd think they wouldn't bother but they did.
The MZ-700 port of Mappy actually could display graphics using an add-on that enhanced the computer’s abilities and allowed for proper character sprites. Without the add-on, Mappy was represented as 2 letter “O’s” with two right triangles above them (his ears?)
I mean, they managed to include the shadows and the parallax scrolling on the background scenery, so there’s THAT…….
If it weren't for the hilariously low resolution [it's understandable due to the system being pure text-mode, but still depressing], this wouldn't look too bad.
I really wonder what was going through the developer's mind when they had to release it, heh. Going from one of the most powerful arcade boards of 1985 to a rather modest consumer market machine from 1982 must have been a real hell, yikes.

null1023 There's nothing depressing about one programmer deciding to push the limits of a discontinued PC. He didn't waste anyone's time, resources, or money doing this, as I don't believe Furuhata worked for any developers when he was making these ports. He was, in a sense, a Japanese demoscener who found a niche for which he's remembered.

mmm the grafic os original from MZ700 , but not the sound.
This machine have on chanel with an intel bautrategenerator. ( and on the MZ700 its sound realy not as in that video )
The sound must be from another machine ... MZ800 or MZ1500 the have the same MZ700 sound and a 3 chanel soundgenerator add.
I uploaded this video on RUclips just to show the graphics capabilities of this machine in a post on my blog. I explained that there is not the sound of this machine, and the original sound can be a bit annoying. The music was replaced just to maintain the visual part of the entertainment.
