    Nice helpful video. I always thought the FALLOW period was 11 weeks for ich.

    Thanks for the video. Very informative! Is it true that ich reproduce more in tanks with substrate or is this a mith?

    • @HumblefishReef
      @HumblefishReef  2 года назад

      It might be true, but tomonts are capable of encysting upon glass, rocks, pumps, etc. in the absence of substrate.

    İ am new with saltwater keeping. İ set up 32 bio and bough couple fish. They were ok 2 weeks. Than one day i brought a another fish it was purple/yellow color. İ didn't QT any of the fish. İn couple of day first that fish dies. Yes i see it was ich... Than my pair of clowns. And last i bough small tang and next day i saw ich on him and second day he died. So basically all the fish i bough died with ich. But some how my first 2 fish still living in the same tank. (Fire fish and white spotted puffer) so i watched lot of videos and i am treating the tank with coppersafe it's been 2 weeks now. My question how come my first bough 2 fish didn't get effected with ich? They r still in same tank and i don't see any sign of ich on them. Yeah i have one small molly in there too.
    İ start watching your videos and learning alot.
    Thank you...

      Different fish have varying degrees of susceptibility to parasites. Some will show symptoms and die, while others remain asymptomatic. It’s very similar to Covid in humans. Some people get very sick by the virus, while others just have a mild case, while yet others remain completely asymptomatic. The same applies with fish.

    Thanks for this vid. Do I need to have cycled media ready for tank transfer method? Also can fish survive if the hypo falls below 1.009 and how far can it go below ?
    Thanks again…🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

    • @HumblefishReef
      @HumblefishReef  2 года назад +1

      No need for cycled media when doing TTM provided you keep bioload reasonable. You also have the option of dosing an ammonia reducer every 24 hours whilst performing TTM.
      Some fish (e.g. puffers) tolerate going below 1.009 SG just fine, while others (e.g. wrasses, anthias) will likely die from that.

      @@HumblefishReef Do i have to wait until i see the ich before i do TTM?

      @@ProducerReef Nope, you can use TTM (any version) prophylactically on new fish arrivals: humble.fish/community/index.php?threads/tank-transfer-method-all-versions.6800/

    Hello, so with the lower QT time, does that only apply with the raised temperature? I don't have heaters in my tank, so it's at a constant 72°. Am I able to do the lower time for still the approx 3 months?

    • @HumblefishReef
      @HumblefishReef  2 года назад

      72F undoubtedly slows down the parasite's lifecycle, and makes going fallow (and treatment time) difficult to predict.
      3 months fallow should still be sufficient in a DT; however I would treat with copper for 6 weeks (instead of 4 weeks) @ 72F.

      @DesertRider760 2 года назад

      @@HumblefishReef After the 6 week copper treatment, I have to transfer them into a different tank? Or can I run carbon and a decent water change in the same QT to lower the copper level?

    • @HumblefishReef
      @HumblefishReef  2 года назад

      @@DesertRider760 After 6 weeks worth of therapeutic copper, you can just lower the Cu level in the QT and begin a 2 week observation period.
