I own the '17 SE w/ CVT in falcon gray. Love it!!! Point A to point B, there's nothing better + the legendary Toyota reliability. My '17 has all the features you mentioned and I got it for $18K.
My wife and I just leased a 2019 Toyota Corolla LE. We got it for the backup camera and because it was a first lease. A little higher on the monthly payments than we wanted, but with a first lease everything is covered. Downsides? Only choice of color was Super White, which shows all the dirt, and we're both in our 70's so not used to all the gadgets on the dash. I'll figure them out eventually; she won't. I've noticed a lot of older women like simplicity... crank windows, doors with keyholes, not so much powered this and that. Learned real quick that the backup camera is not much use in foggy, damp or snowy weather; the lens fogs up and builds up with dirt. As for the front facing camera for lane drift, in cold weather like we get here in Vermont, when the windshield frosts or fogs up, it's not much use until the defroster clears the top of the windshield. Same with snow on the road covering up the road lines regarding lane drift. Both features would be fine in good weather, but they have their limits of use in certain weather. This was a learning experience for us, never had these bells and whistles before. But I tried the new cruise control that slows the car down when the driver in front is going slower than the cruise control is set and it works fine. Overall I like the car and its features. Being able to control the temperature inside the car is a great feature and saves my wife from turning the fan down or off and cracking the window open, an irritation to both of us in our old 2013 Corolla LE. As I told the dealer, we wanted a "turnkey car", just get in it and go. That's what we have in our new Corolla LE, and I'm sure we'll be happy with it for the next three years of our lease. Now if they could just lower the price a bit...
The premium package on SE adds the moonroof, Smart Key/push to start and Etunes Plus upgrade with Scout GPS and XM Radio. So, the only other feature that the XSE has that you can't get on SE is full leather seats with heated front seats and power driver seat
Thank you so much for posting this video Jeff! I’m currently planning to get myself a Toyota Corolla as my very first car and had so much trouble deciding which model to get. Hi Jeff, thank you for responding, I’m glad you’re doing something great for all of us and helping us build our knowledge about Toyota brand. Thanks a lot for your video, I feel more confident now about buying a Toyota, they might not have the greatest features but we all know that those cars built to last forever or close. I'd love the XSE but in a gray color.
I like that Toyota decided to make the Safety Sense package standard on all trims even the base model at no extra charge. Other manufacturers have some safety features optional on the cheaper trims
Davin Peterson What if you want to run over somebody? - like a bad guy. Hate those safety sense tech- just pay attention when driving. How expensive is it to fix those when they break down.
I bought an SE CVT standard package about 3 months ago and it’s amazing. Disappointed about not having heated steering wheel, moonroof and alloy rims but either way it’s amazing
Omega Beta Hatch back is a failure so far. Some people have trouble getting out of the back seat easily and quickly due to proximity of rear wheel well to the rear door jam.
I currently drive a 2008 toyota matrix which is the old corolla hatchback before they stopped making them. From what I can tell the new hatchback is the same idea as my matrix. I am not a fan of it even though mechanically it runs like a clock. I will probably get a camry as my next car since it''s more comfortable and a better overall drive.
