@@zahariasalbatic3961 I honestly don’t think the guy is far off. It’s essentially a fretless instrument at this point and you need a good sense of pitch for it to actually sound like something.
I wonder how hard that songs is going to be to recreate faithfully live? It sounds amazing but he's also got a hell of a studio workshop and awesome engineering help, plus he is a good sound man himself. It just seems like to do night after night live is going to be tough. But big thumbs up Bernth, you are very creative!
Actually, if you have perfect pitch (or very well trained ears, really), you can totally replicate what he played. This is not unlike playing on a fretless neck or, to some extents, a theremin, adjusting your pitch while you're playing the instrument. Although, I have to say holding the tension of the strings without the neck can be quite straining on the shoulder (which he mentioned in the video). You're right that playing this every night is not gonna be healthy lol
@@MillennialsafloatBlogspot2015 yes, it is very much unlike playing on a fretless guitar lmao, there is no consistency here, making it not viable to play live, unless you just go ham for the fun of it not caring whether it sounds the same or not
@@MillennialsafloatBlogspot2015 Lol how is perfect pitch going to help? It won't help any further than relative pitch will. The problem here is the insanely accurate headstock positions and pulls you must do to play anything. This is like a broken theremin.
@CaptainTrips560 if the scale lenght is too short, then you must be even more precise to get the correct pitch. The shorter the scale the harder a slight change makes the pitch change.
There is an old folk instrument in India, Bengal region especially. It's known as 'Ektara', which works in the same concept. A string suspended between two wood sticks and the pitch is modulated with the pressure. Another one is 'Gupi Jantra' and lastly is 'Khamak'. Look them up.
Bro ektara has a support for strings, those wooden sticks are supports to hold the string tight. This video isn't real (wish he would make it clear). That much flop cannot physically produce any note.
This guy is on another level of ability and creativity. I hope you come to America on a tour. I live here in Vegas and would want a front row ticket to see him play.
Its not. He isn't fretting. Next time your string breaks pull it and try to make different notes that are in tune with a song just pulling it and moving it around. Same thing
@@horus7854 Ikr, this seems very fake, I do know he is a great guitarist but there is no way he is making that sound from what he is doing in the video
Agree. There were times he was "playing" strings and the strings weren't tight. I think it would be impossible to hold the string precisely to keep a sustained note or even a note in tune. I call bullshit!
I could've done the same thing - without cutting the headstock off!!! But still it's things like this that make the most unusual inventions. Thank you for sharing your vision of creativity!
As not a big a fan of metal, usually when I come across one of your songs I just go "oh that's neat" or "nice" but DAMN this was a banger through and through!

No. It's a bolt on neck that's easily replaced. @SixStringTv cut the head off of a Gibson Les Paul. That's messed up. Look up 'headless les paul" and you'll see it.
@@njldst2007He sawed off the head but it's a cheap bolt on neck. I know I'm repeating the other comment but it didn't seem to make sense the first time around. A new neck is between 50-150 dollars depending on whether or not you want to cheap out. Either way it's not a giant loss.
This is something I've never even thought about! If I had, I would not have thought it would work. Fantastic work! Unexpected, ingenious, and truly unique in the sounds you created. Great job!
When I hear that music in a café, wouldn't pay attention to it. But when I see the video, I appreciate the song and how it was made much more. Always interesting to know the backstory of artistic works.
I wonder if you could achieve something similar with a hinged neck. Doesn't necessarily have to be fretted could just be a piece of pipe or strip of metal or wood. But I wonder how it might work with a fretted neck on a hinge. It Might be able to achieve some functionality similar to a sitar. Where you have the option to fret your notes on the neck or play notes by bending strings up to several steps up.
@@tomipuukko what makes you think that? I am pretty good at spotting BS, and the only fake thing I saw was the cover photo. I couldn't afford to chop up a guitar, but in principle it is totally doable. Bet his shoulder was killing him, but definitely disagree with "fake".

how about affixing the headstock to something solid and then pull on the body the way one does with a B-bender? That should solve the shoulder issues ... maybe
