I finished this song on March 13th 2012. It was my goal to learn it by March 26th (my 18th birthday and, ironically, Beethoven's death day). Thank you very much for this video. I learned this song with a combination of my ears, sheet music, and this video. This is my second favorite Beethoven song after Für Elise.

when i play this song, i forget about the world as if it doesn't exsist. the only thing that exsists at that moment is.... beauty, but its more than that. its too hrd/ too many words to describe. it makes me feel at peace with myself. it calms and sooths my soul. i feel loved. this is more than a song, its alive and it feels, it is...godlike.

I wish people would look into music, rather than take great music in the past and shun the music of today. There's plenty of fulfilling music that are modern. Just look, open your eyes. This song is a masterpiece, but there are many other masterpieces out there.
This was the very first song I ever learned on piano =) its easy and fun.

I saw the name and I thought, "Didn't I play that?" I'm in middle school, so I had an Intermidiate level version (I think), but, still, and it's weird thinking that some people might think it's hard. But it isn't. Piano is, in my opinion, the easiest instrument to play. It has so many different notes, so many keys. Other instruments don't have such a range. And when I see these piano tutorials, I instantly think it would just be easier to look at sheet music, because then you can feel the music.

Ive been trying to learn this song for a while now. I can play the beginning of the song and most of the end but most of the middle is missing. I really like minor songs to end major, so on the last chord, rather than an E, I play an F. It leads better into the 2nd movement too :)
This is a sad song to me. For sone reason at 2:20-2:50 I always cry.

He did put it at AT LEAST 20%. What I think you meant to say is AT MOST. They are different.
Lessons will teach a person how to properly place their fingers to be able to play more complicated songs. If you think there is piano in your longterm future, it's probably better to not learn this way and have the frustration of trying to un-learn doing it wrong.

@Alexik09 There are so many repetitions, why should he bother. IF its still to fast, just download the video and play it via VLC so you can change the tempo.

@Justanotherconsumer But the ones of us who cannot read sheets thinks this is amazing. And we're not looking for the challenge of playing piano (it's challenging enough when you can't read sheets), just wan't to play average piano :) And for us, videos like this are great.

@littlekleybis I have a severely simplified and shortened version of this piece on sheet music if you would like me to PM it to you.
I found that the video wasn't quite accurate in places (I've checked the sheet thoroughly I'm not playing it wrong). But on the whole it's useful for double checking that you're doing it right.
As a tutorial.. eh, I'm not sure it helps. I guess I always learned from reading sheet music and that's a bias, but half the trouble on some pieces is figuring out the fingering. The weak fourth and fifth fingers on the right hand look like they're stuck with the most important part musically at the entrance @4:05 or so and is there some way around that?
Showing which keys to press isn't much of the challenge of playing piano.

hey wait so this isn't like the real song? I'm kind of slow sometimes but what do you mean out of sync? I haven't really played the piano in a long time but I'm determined to learn the most beautiful piano song ever. it starts off at one second and gets about .3 second bigger every 20 seconds.
this seems like a pretty simple song to learn and play?
