Now that I've made too many videos in one day I can finally go play some elden ri-zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Me too but thanks for your obsessio.. err I mean work
Hey, you are wrong only in one section, the part with the narrow bridge can be crossed without killing the Cavalier. If you wait till the Cavalier turns around down at the bottom and heads back up where you jump down to where the narrow section is from the nook with the spirit bowman. You not only have plenty of time to get past the bridge but I've found that you can run down around and up to the next nook and have plenty of time. I use the cavalier to bait out all the spirit guards and let the cavalier kill them before heading on up to pick up the communion seal. But I like the idea of just killing it outright and never dealing with it again. Great video mate!
Elden rizz?

Aww, sending my love to marshmallow ❤️
There's not a single thing that isn't annoying about this dungeon. Every enemy and obstacle is designed to make you hate living
Fr, this is one of the most shitty designed areas in the entire game
Just wait until you find another late game dungeon..
@@TrevorM-gd6gt I mean, I don't think it's bad design if it accomplishes the aim of making you mad. After all, it's a dungeon presented to you at the start of the game, but obviously doesn't expect you to actually clear it early. Just like the grafted scion boss, you can come back later when you're better equipped to handle it. The only thing that is annoying is the chariot which will probably always one hit you, but with a little practice Is pretty easy to get past, and even destroy.
the bridge part is what got me, how the fuck do you realize that there is somewhere to drop down.
Yup
I thought since this dungeon was at very start it'd be a easier one and so far it's hardest one I've tried. Relentless.
Dude the ones at the beginning are always hardest when you need a key you rookie lol
@@xAbbsurd how in the hell would we know that
@@oneclevercheeto Because all souls games are this way
@@oneclevercheeto because that’s literally all the souls games
@Rollz this is literally easier than gelmir hero grave, auriza hero grave, sainted hero grave, etc tho
Even if i spent 10 hours in this area i still wouldn't have figured out how to get that bow. Thanks a lot
Not many people will figure out how to get the bow, it's very tricky.
I accidentally fell there and landed on the platform to start down that path, lucked out lol
You need to destroy the chariot to get it
Always look off ledges or look for secret areas
@@lucasbolduc172 yeah.. it was in the video..
In case no one said this already another way to kill the chariot is to wait until it hits the wall that you're standing on. As soon as you hear it slam into the wall let the arrow go. That worked for me shooting the pot on the right.
This is the way! worked like a charm, thanks mate!
Yeah I did the same, oh the taste of sweet revenge !
Omg thank u
Worked for me as well - thanks!
My man
I ran through the area and defeated the boss. Was wondering why the reward was lacking due to the keystones required and chariot of death. I got more than I bargained for when I saw that there were 3 missable rewards and as a cherry on top a much desired revenge. Appreciate it!
Fun fact with the fire breather trap. Aim an arrow and hit it, it will lower the full thing.
You can also just throw a crafted bone knife at it very easily out of range of where it detects you.
And you're bringing a bow to shoot down the pots to break the chariot, so you're already equipped to deal with this!
I prefer Margot's Shackle.
Just some general stuff i found out while struggling through this dungeon
You can make it to either the elite spirit or the boss by sprinting the whole way, this is how i did it:
- kill the first 3 enemies in the dungeon
- stay in the last safe space before the first turn (dont jump down, you will need the stamina)
- once the chariot starts going up and passes your safe spot, go out and start running
- ignore all enemies and just run to either the boss or the elite spirit
- you dont need to roll as long as you dont hug the enemies if going for the boss, if going for the elite spirit you have to roll through that one melee spirit that spawns on the final turn
Boss tips:
- stay close to belly and do light attacks, if u only do 1 light attack (or 2 with a fast weapon) then you can freely dodge through all of its attacks even with medium load
- the grab attack happens whenyou are far away, it is difficult to dodge, cant be blocked and is an insta kill, so just stay close to the boss
- the boss can be staggered, if you do stagger it then its a free kill as the AI breaks
Elite spirit tips:
- dont attack when the shield is up
- when it briefly banishes it will either appear close to you and attempt an attack or it will appear further, if it appears close you get a free heavy attack (of course this depends on the weapon, i used bloodhound's fang and the special attack was a free and safe hit)
As for Oleg he is 100% worth using, he is mobile, he is EXTREMELY tanky and his aoe abilities actually deal damage instead of tickling enemies, he needs 20 mind to spawn (20 mind gives exactly 100 FP, flask +2 completely restores it, idk about flask +1) so if you are a caster build getting such a reliable summon early on is very benefitial
I can't reach the last alcove on the left side before the turn without getting hit by The Chariot
And now whenever I stop in an alcove, there's a spirit spawn in every single one that f****** wrecks me. I've been trying for hours just to get down to the boss door SMH
@@makaiokalahama just shoot down the pots to break the chariot? I don't see why you'd torture yourself like this
Can confirm the AI breaks wolves OP
The grab isn't an instakill. Unrelated, but the boss froze in place on my third or fourth try so I was able to cheese it. Just thought it was interesting to share
Edit: realizing now that that's what you meant by breaking the AI
Just to note, if you had messed up your shots and went back to rest, the pots may bug out and not reappear (only the ropes show, no pots). Simply save and quit, they should respawn then.
Holy shit thank you so much
For the flame trap before the Erdtree Talisman, shoot it with a bow and you can skip the mob on the right and just run past the trap without triggering it.
Tip for anyone like me that struggled to kill the guardian on the balcony , at the last alcove of the first chariot ramp go to the open alcove side and if you time it right you can shoot the guardian and make him aggro onto you. He will either Teleport or jump down. If you time it right you can have him get run over . Took me a while of trying it normally before finding that out
THANK YOU!!!!! That did the trick!
I just did this by accident after failing to defeat him in hand to hand a few times. It was very well worth the cheese.
Wish I had if read the comments, this took me ages to figure out. Now I'm stuck at getting timing right for the chariot
Ty bro i died like 4 times to that fker
@@petercumblin if you still have trouble, here is a tip. Align your shot so you don’t have to aim left and right. Now carefully move the aiming reticle down so you can see the chariot. When the chariot gets close to the end, tilt up and shoot the rope. That should eliminate the excess time of aiming that causes you to miss and you can see the chariot of you can’t hear it well enough.
I went through already and beat the boss and the strong spirit knight but didn't know about the hidden drops thank you for showing everyone
Your video is the one out of all the other tutorials that actually helped due to the fact you gave the timing advice of when to shoot it! Thank you!!
Not to mention I got it on the first try after watching your video!! :D
Killed that death chariot thing on the first shot… thanks to your perfect explanation and example on how to time it properly. Kudos!
Hopefully this will help one person somewhere- holding dodge makes your character sprint.
As a new souls player, for whom this was their first ever dungeon, I did the whole thing without sprint and almost lost my mind dying 100+ times. Please don’t be me.
Omg 🤣
Dude i was wondering why i was so slow and could not make it to a safe spot now, tysm bro you just saved me so much time
I am so great full THANKS 🙏
As one of the desperate ppl with coordination for that jar dropping part, what worked for me was hiting each rope one after another as soon I hear the chariot hit the wall I'm standing on. One of the 3 was bound to fall on it xD
Fantastic Walkthrough, very clear, concise and no misconceptions
Fantastic video, I wouldn't have known about getting the bow without this. Idk if someone has mentioned already but you can out run the chariot after you make the first drop, just time it right so it's going back up and you'll make it, still slows you down for waiting for it for the dungeon but it's doable
In case it hasn’t been mentioned, the fire pillar can be avoided completely by shooting it with a bolt or arrow. This will cause it to go underground and stay there until attacked again.
Holy shit I went straight to the boss and never even thought there was all this extra stuff haha. Thanks!!
Love your videos Shatter, they have been a real boon to my Elden Ring experience. For new players, blunt weapons or weapons that do strike damage are a lot more effective against stone, crystal and undead enemies. Use a club, hammer, mace or morning star against those imps (they are stone creatures), and it is also the best weapon to use in most tunnels, caves & catacombs as most of the enemies in them are undead. One can also use Margit's Shackle to stop or start the fire breathing stone pillar traps. Margit's Shackle also confuses the giant stone chariots in one of the Hero's Graves (but not this one), causing one to destroy all the others.
3:55 I just waited for the Chariot then agro him toward the alcove just outside his room, letting the Chariot flatten him. Considering this was the first area I tried (had it nas start item), this felt like DS to me, which then made the freedom of outside so much more rewarding.
Awesome chariot guide that’s what I came for and needed
Holy crap! I did not know about the secret path below the the narrow bridge in the beginning! In two playthroughs I've just run past the bridge and went down to the boss!, imagine my surprise when you pointed out dropping the jar on the chariot! Great video!
I've played the souls series for over a decade now...after countless deaths and endless sprinting, ladders and elevators to get back, I have infinite appreciation for Elden Ring. Marika statues, 20 second horsey rides to the boss...I feel special. This is the first playthrough where I dont feel compelled to seek boss help on youtube. I am perfectly good with being immolated and smashed 8000 times in a row while learning their movesets.
OMG, this was such a good and thorough walkthrough! You've earnt a like and a sub 😎👍
I recommend checking out my newer videos. They've improved tremendously! The new videos focus on NPC questlines and missable items/quests
@@ItsShatter I wish I had a bow
Thank you for the help!
Thanks for this video. Helped me finally get past that horrible death trap.
Thank you. Your video is helpful and I’m grateful you share the way to navigate this dungeon. I only died once during my play through. Cheers
You can shoot arrows to lower the flaming traps. Really easy to deal with.
Thanks for this dude I got Oleg but didn’t know about the bow
Thank you so much for the bow tip! Very helpful
holy cow wish I knew about the chariot kill thing like 20 deaths sooner
Outstanding walkthrough. Thanks, bud!
The tip on how to take out that chariot was sooooo good... thank you!
Great guide, thank you!
Thank you bro I couldn’t find that secret area and another video I watched didn’t even cover any of it
Your trick for the chariot worked perfect got it on the first try!
THANK YOU SO MUCH AHHHH!!!!
I'm so happy to be done with this area.
You can trick the chariot by stopping at the safe area in the wall right after the first turn it’ll go back up and you can run across
Many thanks for the video. Helped a lot.
You're a good dude. I liked this whole dungeon I like the lava one as well I call them death runs
Finally completing this after so long is such a treat. @ Lvl 58 i remembered to come hack and still struggled with those spectral knigts. The tree apirit was tough, but i used bloodflame blade and fire grease. Im sure fire pots wouldve melted him quicker, but staying locked and close to his left side and not panick rolling saved my ass enough to fight through. First time i came in i couldnt get past the night on the ledge by the hanging pots. This time i went though in two tries and the tree spirit too me 3. Proud of myself for this tough dungeon
For 3 weeks been progressing and farming ruins to level up and get better weapons to come back and try this dungeon it's been my nemisis in gaming.
Excellent video! Thanks!
Great guide thanks!
Great video thanks
Thanks for the video , just started this area , and I thought what the duck do I do to get across the narrow bridge lol
Thanks, i find dragon seal long time and see this video
Huge help. Thank you.
Great video! Thank you
Your guide was nice and simple. Love your cat
This is A quality guide thanks a lot
great guide bro, heading there now :)
Watched for the tips, subscribed for the cat. Well played.
Thank you kindly. I was looking for Dragon Seal after switching from Strength/Faith build to Dex to dual wield River of Blood and Hand of Malenia. I lost so many times with my strength build against her (first times I was so close but after she survived with 1 HP only to massacre me while healing off my summon, I decided to try another approach.) I'm loving the katanas since the problem I had with greatsword was the slow attack. This faster bleed build is funner IMO and lighter to wield other stuff as well. But since I respec faith into other attributes, Arcane was the highest magic stat so I figured it's time to try out the dragon spells.
Thanks for the bow!
Dude funny how I needed this now and you just posted
umm I posted this video almost 8 months ago the first week the game came out :P Glad to see it's helped you out still!
@@ItsShatter nvm my phone was bugged. Still, thank you so much I hate this heros grave
This video was so helpful.
Btw to anyone who is struggling to fight those two graft dudes who drop on the bridge, I was able to bait them into that fire trap repeatedly to kill em.
Did they drop anything? I think I killed one of them but only got souls from them
@@voidgivenfocus So far every hp sponge enemy like that has dropped nothing for me. Seems like a waste of time to even bother with them.
@@D3adR0ck3r these are the standard run past enemies they usually put in the dark souls games so I dont mind them dropping nothing as its a pain to kill them
@@voidgivenfocus They are supposed to be your "punishment" for getting greedy, so you only get generic runes off them unfortunately. I did become somewhat competent at fighting them though, you just have to exploit the height difference at that alter area at the end of the bridge. They can't short-hop, only do the leap attack which is easy to avoid and punish.
5:40 "you're helping me feed my cat, her name's marshmallow." That caught me off guard hahaha had to like the video after that.
Thank you very much!
Very good guide. Thanks
Brilliant video thank you
Even after one has done NG+7, this vid still REALLY helped! FINALLY got revenge on that FRICKIN' CHARIOT! THANK YOU! New Sub! Your little Marshmallow is SO CUTE! Elden Kitty, lol! 🐈🐈⬛🐱
Thanks! I can finally go full-Vargram!
Very clearly, tks a lot !
The most complete guide,
Thnks!!!
I can't get the chariot to roll under the pots, it keeps just going back and forth in the shorter area
awesome guide!
Amazing. This video covered everything while showing the best ways to do it.
Small correction but you absolutely can make it across the narrow bridge if you time your drop down to when the chariot is going back up towards the entrance.
Idk why the hell he said you can only die lmao. That would make you lose everything.
Got super lucky and the Tree Spirt got glitched and just stood there so I could attack it but this guide was amazing thank you
Isn't that just being unlucky? Lost content, this game is mostly about the fights.
@@Elena-gj6ow I guess thats subjective whether it’s lucky or not. I had fun so who cares?
@Elena How is it lost content when you fight it like 10 different times in different areas?
Really helpful guide, thanks! Could someone tell me what kinda barrier/shield is surrounding him at 1:33 to 1:44?
flask of wondrous physick upgrade
the fire spewing colmns can be hit with an arrow or other weapon to deactivate them
If you need help with the fire trap you can shoot it with a bow or cross bow and it will lower its self and won’t shoot fire
Thanks bro
Thank you.
I fought a similar ‘boss’ in the depths of stormveil. I haven’t successfully killed that one yet but it is along a winding and somewhat hidden path.
The closest grace is the secluded cell, good luck adventurers
The flame pillar can be brought down from very far using the margit shackle.
Fun fact I defeated the sword thing boss by dodging his attack and ran back to the fire statue. Before I got to the two bosses I hit the statue once so that it’s down when I come back. The spider thing follows me to the statue, I hit the fire statue with a quick slash and run to the first safety hole. The spider is getting cooked and it was awesome. End of my story
LOL that's brilliant! I beat one of them at the alter where it dropped by constantly jumping up on the alter area while it helplessly swung its swords on the edge of it because it cannot short hop. And when it does leap, it has a very predictable crash attack that you can exploit for a free hit or two.
Fun fact?
@@Leto_0 well for me it’s funny that you can beat it with the fire statue. I did it so that’s a fact.
Thank you!
Very helpful for us noobs. You are a natural teacher, thank you!
subbed nice vids :)
Great video! A couple additional notes for people doing this directly from New Game.
1. When fighting the night guarding the Dragon Seal, you can lure him out to where the chariot charges to get him instantly killed by it. Easy alternative to fighting him when you’re weak.
2. Shooting the flame pillar with an arrow or other projectile pushes it down, so you don’t need to fight the Imp with the risk of burning.
Isnt the whole point to kill the chariot so that you can get to the dragon seal and the boss?
@@ChubbChamp I didn’t consider, that, good point. When I did it I didn’t kill the charriot, and found that it sets itself on some pretty long pathings before it reaches that far. But you’re right, probably a easier without it lol.
@@ChubbChamp could always just run back up and do it.
thanks, a lot
Loved the vid, thanks! But I subbed for more Marshmallow😻
First time I entered here I did not realize it was a proper dungeon with a boss. Just thought it was a bonus side area with the seal. On the last alcove on the first ramp with the chariot, I did jump down just like he suggests here, but waited by the first alcove up top of this new ramp, waited for chariot to go down, and I looped up and around the drop once more. This causes the chariot to go through the entire path of turning and going all the way up to the beginning, before turning around and trying to catch up with you. So you have ample time to cross the narrow bridge/path instead of jumping down to "secret" ledge and all the way up the slope to the elite guy that drops the seal. In fact I waited for chariot to catch up just before I entered his room so that I could aggro, run back to nearest alcove and chariot killed it for me while I was level 19. Hope that helps someone
1:20 For anyone not aware, you can hit these types of traps with an arrow or throwing dagger to make it move. In most cases it will simply make the trap safe but in some dungeons you can use them trap as an elevator to hidden areas. Just jump on top and hit it with an attack to make it move.
It's also fun to bait enemies towards a disabled trap then trigger it to kill the enemy. It can be a handy trick when dealing with Erdtree Burial Watchdogs later in the game.
How do get this site of grace like under the dungeon on a map ? I can't find any at this place nor inside the dungeon.
I just out run that machine by waiting for it to start rolling up at the first course then just run straight to the boss room after dropping from the last window like you.
Beat the boss after the 4th try but don't know how to deal with stuff I see on the way because I cannot the chariot
This video helps, thanks
Finally done with this damn dungeon.
The Tree Spirit boss was tough as heck. Had to spirit summon my trusty +10 wolves. 😅
Like how you claimed you have to die to leave but you can drop to the lake. Also if you turn around and go back to where you dropped down on the left side is a drop and you can short cut to the boss area basically
When I fought the boss, he stopped attacking / moving when he got around 50% HP. Then started attacking again around 10% HP
Thanks for the great info and demonstration but I'm hoping there's a grace point close by that boss room.
100% achievement and several months away from ER and I’m still finding new stuff never knew about the erdtree great bow
Great vid, thanks! Big sad that there were no pictures of marshmallow in the credits
There were some videos of her there!

That is not true, you CAN make your way across the bridge in time. Because the chariot works in a way if the player is standing on the next section, it will go to there too.
So you can drop at the third safe spot on the right side at the time when the chariot is the most further away from you, then make the run across the bridge ;)
