I took an alternative solution to this. I glued on the whip belt strap closed, then I cut the coiled whip right underneath the first handle detail. Then, I inserted a small metal stick (from a paperclip) into the coiled whip, so that it can be closed and doesn't look cut. Now I can take it out without any problems.
I'm very tempted to grab the Gridiron kit as I'd like the darker-shade wired whip as a handy accessory for my DoD indy in particular, plus the extra gun and torch are handy pieces, but I keep feeling whisy-washy about their holster belt. The size of the gun holster keeps looking distracting big to me (reminding me of the one Hasbro tried on the 2008 3 3/4" Raiders Indy figure) and I can see the sag going on and it feels a bit annoying as well.
Yeah, the Gridiron belt isn't perfect. It looks really nice in person but could probably stand to be slightly narrower. And I agree about the holster looking and feeling big. It kinda looks like Indy is running around with a Desert Eagle or something, haha
I think I’ll likely grab the kit solely for the poseable whip. The one that comes with the figure is pretty terrible. And now I know the trick with the standard belt’s whip holder issues so I can just replace the whip with the studio one.
i ended up looping the long pegged piece back under the belt itself with the looped lasso accessory in it. the peg is strong enough to keep the loop in place with little worry of slipping during adventuring
It's really just about stretching the plastic when you push the peg through. Stretch the belt, the hole widens, the peg pops in. Let go, and the hole tightens around the peg.
Pleased to see I’m not the only one experiencing this issue. My solution, I’ll be replacing my Hasbro for SH Figuarts instead. Very costly but it’s Indy with optional hat and jacket.
Aaaah, cooool! I knew when I opened the package, I wanted a wired whip instead! I'm new to action figures and was just wondering how I'd make my own.... This helps a ton. Now, where to get a 1/12 scale military truck like in Raiders.... Or a motorcycle & sidecar like Last Crusade? Cheers!
Thanks for the info but mine still falls out. You'd thing the first 1/12 Indy figure they did they'd make it somewhat Perfect. A damn hook would have been ideal.
It's all about making the hole wider *as* you push the peg through. Try flipping the front of the belt over, so you can see the other side of the hole. Stretch the belt where the hole is, and the hole will temporarily widen. Push the peg though, and since the belt is flipped, you can watch it come through the other side of the hole. When the peg is fully inserted, release the tension in the belt, and flip it back over. When the plastic bounces back to its original shape, the hole will tighten around the peg, and should hold. It's a bit fiddly, but functional. Same principle as the holster, really, though the ball on the end of the holster peg makes it much easier to stretch the hole around it.
More than anything, it just needs a less glossy finish. I'm guessing they wanted him to look sweaty, but it doesn't really translate. The likeness is there, but I'm definitely gonna give it a satin finish.
Scoot the belt up over the waist, and then push in the loop, then lower it back down.
It’s the only way 😂

That's really clever!

I tried the Gridiron Studios method. No fuss, no muss.
i cut off the whip holder on a 3 3/4 figure from 2008 and glued it on. to my surprise it worked very well
That's awesome!

Great video! I’ll be sure to come back once I have this figure!
Thanks! It's one of my favorite figures of the year so far.
@@SuedeTsunami yeah I wasn’t gonna buy any of this line but after seeing the new movie
I NEED HIM!
I used a piece of black twist tie, wrapped it around the belt, and cut the other end the length of the default strap. it works perfectly.
Oh my god, thank you! Also great choice of music 😉👍
How come Hasbro didn’t give the figure any double jointed elbows?

A lot of hate on here for Gridiron, but for me, it was the best solution. The quality is better than Hasbro's accessories too.
Do I own this figure? No. Will I ever own this figure? Unlikely. Did I click on this video? Yes.
Thanks, Duke!

I glued it down, put a black wash over the super glue white fuzz, then ignored when he has 2 whips at once
Great!
I cut that annoying strap off and glued a Jedi hook from the black series onto the belt.
I got it today
OOF, $28 + shipping for that Gridiron belt? hard pass.
I hear ya. It is a very pricey solution to a problem the figure shouldn't have in the first place.
Nice video, but the Gridiron belt and Accessories? Costing about the same as the actual figure? No thanks.
Yeah, it's a nice belt and stuff, but the cost is a hard pill to swallow.
I thought it was just me
£54 to get to uk
😬
Now just need to fix his face

So your "fix" is to just buy a new belt entirely. CLICK BAIT!!!
