Why does keeping the default IP Address create any issue and what issues are those?
@@camtono largely because other routers use the same default and it can cause problems in certain situations. Best practice is to change it.
Thx for the quick review, have you tried authenticating to a captive portal in a hotel / coffee shop, etc?
Yes, I have, but I realize that every hotel portal is a bit different. The two that I tried worked. Thanks for the feedback.
The captive portal will show on whatever device you have connected to it, so if it's laptop, it will show on that one and everything else is good to go.
Obviously, you would set this up at home and then just connect to new networks via the app or web browser after that.
I have a question do you have to have Wi-Fi to use this or does it make its own connection? I do RV camping and I can never get a good connection and there’s no Wi-Fi does this work and create its own Wi-Fi
@@restez1963 it creates WiFi for the client for lan access but not to the internet unless you use a usb cell modem.
Can I use this at a hotel to avoid paying for their expensive daily WiFi?! My iPhones hotspot is trash and will not stay connected to my laptop. A hotel I’m staying at next week does NOT provide complimentary Wi-Fi for guests and I need to work remotely. So therefore I won’t have a password to enter unless I pay for one
This will allow you to use multiple devices on one account but not let you bypass it. Hope that helps.
