You did a good job to explain it according to the rules. But in reality these days people are not using these kind of parts of speech.
In practically English speaking countries when people change a direction tenses they remove the inverted comas but most of the time they don’t change the tenses. It is making hard for students in our country. This part of grammar should be reviewed. Make it more practical.
