I've got a female guppy separate with a male guppy in a 10 gallon. She seems pregnant, but not quite close to giving birth yet. Excited for the babies. Thank you for the info!
I just got four guppies yesterday, and the guy gave me two male and two female, and said the females are already pregnant. He said to bring the babies back when they have grown a little and he'll trade me food for them. He keeps the fish local, so these are healthy fish, and want to do the best I can to make sure they survive haha. He said that my fish are about a week or so out, but I want to learn how to tell on my own.
@@Feeeeeeeeeeeesh_10 I did not bring them back lol. Turns out, they died very shortly after making that comment, and those fish wiped out my entire tank (They added salt to their water, my tank was just freshwater, no salt) and for whatever reason, adding them and the smallest amount of their water from the store was enough to wipe out my entire community tank. Have never gone back to that store. I have heard of many other people having the same issues.
@@Feeeeeeeeeeeesh_10 I have since then had a really great experience having a community tank (I don't have one anymore since having a baby lol) And had plenty of babies and had fun with the whole fish experience. Currently, I only have one betta and a snail, and I am okay with just that.

I bought 3 pregnant females around 3 weeks ago and I've seen one of them rapid breath at the top for awhile before resuming her usual guppy rutine. This has been going on for a few days, so hopefully she is due soon to prevent the fry from being eaten by the other tankmates. They are not box shape big, but the gravid is nice and dark. They are not particularly cranky, but they have pecked at the boys and eachother a bit. My guess is the one that is breathing at the top will be the first one to start. Very informative video and helpful 🔥👍
TY for the information, your the only one that I have seen that actually said anything other than the box shape of the Guppy. I have two females pregnant and one I feel is going to give birth very soon though I thought that for the last 5 days..the male will not leave her alone, I dont know how she will isolate herself. I dont have any extra cash to buy a breeder box though they arent much. Hopefully I will get one before the other guppy gets much bigger. I will watch for her to breathe heavier as you mentioned.
