    It's incredibly easy to induce spine ticks, so great points I had not considered about not taping or handling on the spine edges even with backing boards.

      Thanks for watching - yeah - took me a while to recognize that. Especially when you have >4 books it can be a real issue.

    Great advice. I never realized that the corrugated cardboard "grain" needs to be in different directions.

      Needs to be and benefits from are slightly different- but yeah it can play a role if the box gets snacked

    Watched your great video again! Wondering…I’m sending for 3 different SS in one box:
    1. Would I put the 3 separate initials on the outside of the box? I.e. “ CC + FM + FMKJ” ??
    2. Put a label inside the modern signature bag AND a label inside its corresponding Golden age bag as well? So 2 labels per book?
    Thank you! Your packing is phenomenal!

      Glad you found it useful. Yes, I double up the little square tags as you suggest. Yes, feel free to put all initials on box. They will get the idea.

      I remembered why n this one - privacy. The back had all my info on it. SO, I took off screen. I do the same thing with other keys and its in my other case studies.

    Hey man i have a few questions 1 so you do two orders a book of ten then another order of whatever amount of books let's say five then pack/invoice them separately but ship them all in the same box ? Question 2 should I press everything before I ship even if some books are potentially a 10 or a miracle 9.9 ? Question 3 should I put the mid grade books as one unit then high grade in a separate unit or does it even matter ? Thanks in advance.

      Given the choice, I separate my high grade moderns from my 80s keys. Different folks do stuff differently and I don’t think it makes a big deal. I just don’t slab a ton relative to some folks. So to me a box of 10 is a good size.

      As for pressing, just 9.8 prescreen those books and then consider pressing the rejects. If they are hot off the shelf/online store… then it’s $15/press and $8 to have CGC tell you they are not 9.8 or better. So even if 2/3 get the 9.8 on first pass you win. Typically more than that will if you look em over before sending for spine ticks and corner damage

    Would you do the same process for a 25 book submission? What's the most amount of books you put between the two pieces of cardboard?

    • @TopComicsPressing
      @TopComicsPressing  Год назад +1

      Do a 25 book the same with multiple bundles and number bundles. Do 8,8,9 or that’s what I do

    I hope to god that Hugh Jackman signed it "you such Ryan" because you wrote "such" instead of "suck".

      Just bad penmanship. But no… after 18 months of waiting I had CGC send it back raw and unsigned

    I thought that CGC suggests not to tape the flaps down on the bags. I assume from watching your video that you do not agree with/follow that recommendation.

    • @TopComicsPressing
      @TopComicsPressing  Год назад +1

      I always tape. When you get “rejects” back they have the tape sliced with that I am assuming is a light roller cutter that cuts the tape and not the board/comic. So, they are fine w it… or at least they have graded everything I have sent without complaint.

    Why would you pack that book into the golden age bag OFF camera?? I wanted to see how you did it!!!

    • @TopComicsPressing
      @TopComicsPressing  Год назад

      Sorry - try to keep it flat on a surface. Just slide inside as another book. Pull board our 2/3 - but prior bag/board in golden age board. The. Slide both into larger bag.
