These numbers vary greatly, but should give you an idea of what to expect; * $ 300,000 Purchase * $ 5,000 LOA & training * $ 12,000 Annual insurance (Liability) * $ 6,000 Annual hanger * $ 13,000 Annual inspection (with ejection seats) * $ 1,000 Minor maintenance (fluids, oil, tires) * $ 5,000 Parts annual average (i.e. engine, valves, etc) * $ 350 Per hour fuel burn (high average)
160-170 gallons per hour in cruise is what I've seen published Jet A runs around $4.25/gal Takeoff burn is more like 300 gal/hr so your first hour will have a higher burn I would think you're looking at $700-1000/hr plus the annual maintenance listed above. If it was less, a lot less, I can't imaging resisting the urge to purchase one.
We removed all the Russian instruments and put in a Garmin G3X system. We have two screens in the front cockpit and a single screen in the rear. Garmin 530 WAAS in the front and a 430 in the back. True Track Sorcerer autopilot with approach coupling, XM weather and music front and rear.
What a dream that would be!
Were you up flying this weekend? Could have sworn that I saw an L-39 flying around KPDK's pattern.
holy smokes i want a ride !!! I'm at KRYY :)
Nothing like flying a jet in shorts :)
Yes, the airplane was flying this weekend, but it was another guy flying.

Seriously, $350hr in fuel? I doubt that.
Operating cost is big. Out of reach for most people.
What avionics are those?

Very nice! It's good to have the most modern avionics even in a trainer jet from the 70s or 80s.
AWESOME !!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!!!
