I remember seeing these guys live at Glasgow - Barrowlands 1990( I was 19), it was the Elyzium tour, I was standing on the periphery of the crowd along with some friends......it was during this I found myself moved to tears, and looked across to said friends.....to find they were crying also ?" "Through Sumerlands.....lead me" Moments like this....are precious !
saw them in Mannheim that year. only a few feet away from the stage, center. a wall of massive fog & even more bass. as wail of sumer started i leaned over to my freind & screamed "oh here comes the ballad..." and he laughed his ass off :-)
4 years ago from the lead post .. how time flies :) .. watched them at Brixton Academy before Elyzium came out (maybe 1989/90 .. not sure).. traveled up with some friends from Brighton and when they played Last Exit for the Lost, I was hooked............ and then Elyzium came out... In hindsight, I'm not sure what I've played more, this two track combination or The Chameleons Second Skin/Intrigue in Tangiers.. different styles but achingly beautiful music..
Until Sumerland here I remain.....one day I will return....once ascended to access ackashic records and kundalini prison broken.....thank you Carl for your guidance for all these years.
A absolute timeless masterpiece of an album. Not a single dead track, every song is beautifully written & the sound is so crisp & clean. Elizium is truly an experience. Thank you Carl McCoy... we are not worthy!
even someone dosent like fields, he can not say that this is just a song... or a good song.we re talkin here about a masterpiece ok.a lot of groups created great albums or songs (like sisters, nosferatu, disjecta membra, house of usher, voices of masada, garden of delight, merry thoughts, and others) and fewer hymns (like joy division, bauhaus e.t.c) but fields of the nephilim led this kind of music to other level without exaggeration no stamps no dark no goth no rock no pop no metal just music
oh the memories...elyzium was the best F.O.T.N album, goth and darkwave meets Pink Floyd and art-rock to create something bigger, transcedental and cosmic. Amazing.
Victoria Nagual Yes , soo lovely memory . Never will forget to saw the Fields o.t.Nephilim live 1990 - absolut fantastic . I'm dreaming till today of this great event
These two songs from the end of Elizium have been travelling round my head for 27 years... sounds new and dynamic every time I listen to it. Some very special music...
Absolutely brilliant... Find myself completely obsessed with FOTN at the moment and need to listen to And There Will Your Heart Be Also all the time. Ceromonies version fantastic too.
My favorite band of all time!!! Saw them last week and they're still as good as they were back in the early 80's. My fave song by them. Thanks for uploading!
Timeless lush and beautiful. Always heavy in my song rotation...pure atmosphere. A brilliant DJ, Coyote J (Jim Battan), had a fantastic show...The Edge. Darkwave, cold and perfect. The 80's he introduced me to the most satisfying music...check out his playlist on Spotify.
My favorite band, for good reason, listen to this amazing well-crafted, almost orchestrated Jazzy Goth Rock of theirs in each ballad type song or slower song they put out, its got the same powerful atmosphere yet has this distinct resonating musicianship that lasts with you for a lifetime. No wonder Carl McCoy, Peter Yates, all the members of FOTN, have went ahead to form their own individual interpretations over this Nephilim concept of dreamlike music they make and sound just as good, like Tony Petitt's NFD for example. A underated 80s classic.
What amazing song it is. A symphony of sorts that walks through the yearly cycle of seasons. Or cycle of life. Could be any cycle for that matter, one which starts and terminates to begin once again.
Cant be many examples of Dub / Goth ( this , Reach out Eden house) but it works for me. Great at weaving layers of sound the neph, and catching each layer as it shifts between the two tracks is a little piece of magic... I'd have this at my funeral but dont think that many people would get it.
Something was happening in the last years of the 20th century and early 21st....FotN...last of the Braves. Lisa Gerrard tried to keep the message but was swamped by directionless corporate pipped media. Lisa and Carl would of made 'The Mist' seem like a prelimanary draft score. . . .
those were the days... pity the guys couldn't sustain the band after this album... the musicians & Carl, soon as separated, never managed to create the real magic again, imho. (and i mean, all the magic - from Gehenna til Elizium)
There exists magic in this song - conjuring an ancient realm of splendor.
FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM.... 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 Na zawsze.......gdzie kolwiek będę.......i na koniec mej drogi..... Do grobu....... ELIZIUM..... 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸
Five English dudes that tapped into some deep British Magick
Nice comment.
Magic indeed sir.
Amazing album . Never bettered.
That´s why I´m goth for 30 years...
Guess I'm goth too then...
Same :-)
Brave and stalwart you...
I went to reading festival 85? To see hawkwind. And these guys appeared
if you're Goth for 30 years what other bands you know off and recommend that are simliar to FON?
Words simply can not convey how much I love this song still today and flooded with memories from long ago..((( ❤️)))
Awesome... To fly to wherever you want... place, time...
Let it stir your soul, with the twang of its dagger! .. true beauty!
This song has a special place in my heart.
Me too
Even in mine
Soooooo much so
When I first bought this album I played this through headphones in the dark. I felt so relaxed it was unbelievable!

Last pair of songs at the edge of the Galaxy measured by time
And then we woke up!!!!!!
Blessed be....... Later
Just amazing. Memories of walking around with this on my personal Walkman type thingy.
The images and atmosphere that this song emotes is what I want to experience after I transcend to the afterlife.
Absolutely brilliant... Find myself completely obsessed with FOTN at the moment and need to listen to And There Will Your Heart Be Also all the time. Ceromonies version fantastic too.

+69satie Me gusta tu comentario, saludos.
A mí trambién me gusta mi comentario, yo crecí mi infancia con esta música gracias a la influencia musical familiar.
Excelente manera de poner en palabras los sublimes sentimientos que causa esta composición 👏🏾
This, if anything, is what has to be called perfection.
Μόλις ανακάλυψα το κανάλι σας! Συγχαρητήρια 😊
I just found this. Where the hell have I been?
Absolutely bloody epically brilliant, very moving piece.
From deep where they are, its the highest notes they can sing.

I own the releases that the artwork is from..... great job I feel that they fit so well.
The last true neffs album
Beggars Banquet ? Didn't they do Bauhaus as well ?
Yes, and Bauhaus also released stuff on 4AD
