Dear Basant ji, I have recently come across your RUclips channel and found it informative. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I have a small portfolio of US stocks and Indian stocks. I made a mistake starting my US portfolio in early 2022 and my portfolio is still recovering. Lesson learnt - don’t catch a falling knife until it has find a floor. My question is about psychology of selling stock and your own approach to selling. Imagine a stock in your portfolio is trending upwards before the result and you have been constantly adding to it. The macros are good the sector is generally in upward trend and stock is well covered by analysts. A day or two before the result, the stock started to fall sharply (e.g. 15% - 20% at a time, there are no news publicly available. What do you do? Do you follow the market and sell the stock and and let the storm settle or you hold on to it and ride the storm out? What is your sell approach? Do you have some sell-rules? I am in stock market from 2009 onwards investing 2 lac in that time, but by investment eroded in stock like reliance infra, reliance capital, zandu kingfisher and Jain irrigation & future retails and got in 2016 after converting all stock in SBI and recovered Rs.130000 , after that now investment is Rs.17 lacs and Rs.6.5 lacs debt .the below attach stock in my portfolio. Will I continued with this portfolio to get 1 core in next 5 years.

Sir Ji, Ek stock hai Pakka. Pakka stock ka naam hai. High growth hai. Uska sab analysis kiya maine, and feels like to invest. But Choti company hai isliye risky lag rha hai + promotor holding pledge hai. Promotor ka kehna hai ki debt lene k liye pledge kiya the, they will soon unpledge them.

Have 1 cr in MF mostly mid and small cap which is giving me 15 % annualised return. I can stop my current MF SIP of more than 1 lakh and divert that to your BM Focused small cap.. other option is take loan of 40 lakh and keep paying instalment.. I have a small portfolio of US stocks and Indian stocks. I made a mistake starting my US portfolio in early 2022 and my portfolio is still recovering. Lesson learnt - don’t catch a falling knife until it has find a floor.
My question is about psychology of selling stock and your own approach to selling.
Imagine a stock in your portfolio is trending upwards before the result and you have been constantly adding to it. The macros are good the sector is generally in upward trend and stock is well covered by analysts. A day or two before the result, the stock started to fall sharply (e.g. 15% - 20% at a time, there are no news publicly available.
What do you do? Do you follow the market and sell the stock and and let the storm settle or you hold on to it and ride the storm out?
What is your sell approach? Do you have some sell-rules?

I am in stock market from 2009 onwards investing 2 lac in that time, but by investment eroded in stock like reliance infra, reliance capital, zandu kingfisher and Jain irrigation & future retails and got in 2016 after converting all stock in SBI and recovered Rs.130000 , after that now investment is Rs.17 lacs and Rs.6.5 lacs debt .the below attach stock in my portfolio.

Sir Ji, Ek stock hai Pakka. Pakka stock ka naam hai. High growth hai. Uska sab analysis kiya maine, and feels like to invest. But Choti company hai isliye risky lag rha hai + promotor holding pledge hai. Promotor ka kehna hai ki debt lene k liye pledge kiya the, they will soon unpledge them.

Thanks for taking my question on 40 lakh loan and 86000 instalment. To share more details.. my current equity portfolio is 35 lakh which has a zoo as you say.. Have 1 cr in MF mostly mid and small cap which is giving me 15 % annualised return. I can stop my current MF SIP of more than 1 lakh and divert that to your BM Focused small cap.. other option is take loan of 40 lakh and keep paying instalment.. I am ready to withdraw 1cr from MF and move it to all your small cases..what is your advise.. my age is 46
