I like cartoons on MeTV and I am surprised there is not an over air network specializing in cartoons. As far as live TV i do not understand how streaming services like Roku make money on it when they air few commercials and instead use it to mostly to promote other live TV Networks on their service.
It still doesn't work now that were living in the public domain era
But not in 2020@@Forest77Wood
@@Forest77Woodafter all the trouble I went through for nothing I don't feel I want to be interested in modern cartoons anymore
@@Forest77WoodI only wanted to watch cartoons for fun not those on hiatus
I love MeTV. I'm looking forward to them bringing out a new classic cartoon channel. I hope we can get it over the air the way we watch MeTV now,
I just checked, and the MeTV channel (WHIODT2) that I already have here in Dayton, Ohio, shows a pretty good cartoon lineup on Saturday mornings from 7 to 9:30 a.m. that includes Popeye, The Tom and Jerry Show, Woody Woodpecker, and Bugs Bunny and Friends, but yeah, what kid wouldn't like a 24-7 cartoon channel?
@@cynthiamurphy3669 They show cartoons every morning and have a show called "Toon in With me."
@@cynthiamurphy3669 The kid who's only watching RUclips vids.. like my kids and little cousins.
I love watching Metv cartoons on Saturday morning. Aaaaand I’m over 40.😂😂😂
If I had to guess I'd say most viewers who watch those and Toon in with Me are over 40.
I'm surprised by how vast the library is, they got shows all the way from the 40s to the early 2000s. This seems to me like Boomerang under a completely different name.
Cartoon Network was like that when it first launched.
@@jony3860 I agree
Not really since paramount and others have partnered withit.
Yeah this is basically going to be like boomerang and what cartoon network was originally like but it's going to have more variety because there's a lot of shows like Betty boop and mighty mighty mouse that weren't on boomerang
@@jamesm47766 Late Night Black and White had the Betty Boop cartoons on CN. That was long before Adult Swim came along.
I watch MeTv and MeTv plus more than any other channels or Apps…. Great channels.
Great news about the Me TV cartoon coming soon.
Me TV is about the only Over The Air TV we watch, and sports, when
it's available. Yes, Scooby Doo. 😊
OTA TV lacks animation, it only has PBS Kids. So this really makes me happy. I wasn’t big into Toon In With Me. But im so excited
I wish Hulu live would add Me TV.
why Hulu?
Need me some Deputy Dawg, Mighty Heroes, Wally Gator, The Herculoids and Tennessee Tuxedo and friends. Oh yea, can’t forget The Banana Splits😅
I loved The Herculoids and The Splits! “Tra la la…”.
@@patrickdaly5068 they don’t make Saturday morning cartoons like they used to.
The Banana Splits used to terrify me as a kid. Even as a grown woman those costumes are still creepy. I enjoy it now though. 😅
I Like That Me TV Cartoons Is Going To Be Legit Because I Love Watching Old School Classic Cartoons.
The thing of it is, if Warner Brothers were handling Cartoon Network, Boomerang US. and Max properly, there wouldn't be a need for Me TV Toons.
Exactly this.
For real ! ! ! Max has been a mess since discovery and their trumpy CEO showed up.
@@rayatl217 False Casey Bloys isn't a part of Trump.
Also since he took over HBO has had 127 nominations.
False METV is it's own local network and they're looking to capitalize on Classic cartoons since the success of toon in with me and saturday morning lineup.
@@calebpepper391 What it boils down to is that people don't want to pay to watch old cartoons. They want to watch them for free, like when they were kids.
Good for Pluto, we enjoy 😉 the
variety of their free offerings. 😊
I can't wait for Metv Toons
I hope Johnny Bravo will be included.
This is excited. I know that on Sunday nights on one of the MeTV subchannels they play cartoons so I am excited. Plus Me-TV is a local channel in the Chicago market so we will likely get this.
Fubo has a very good argument
I didn't want to enter the public domain era, I just wanted to collect all the cartoons from saturday morning and the cartoon channels and preschool channels those that didn't suck
I love MeTV, but in DMV area, my antenna is hit or miss with reception.
I love Crunchyroll.
I live in Chicagoland, which is where Me Tv originated. I don't know if they will have enough station slots free for this without losing one here. Weigel started with WCIU ,which the called The U and Me Tv was their sister station.
I saw somewhere it's earmarked for a new slot on channel 26. It's supposed to be a new on, not replacing an existing spot.
I’m in the Southern part of the state. Hopefully I’ll be able to get MeTV Toons. Greetings from SIU. 😁
I hope I get it here in the Chicago area
I Love MeTV!
Antenna TV is finally getting a Qubo replacement.
Now that's the best news I've heard all day!!
Looks to me MeTV Toons will be the new Boomerang before the rebrand. Either way im excited
I can't get excited about a bunch of old cartoons. I just wish that Warner Brothers Discovery still gave a crap about Cartoon Network.
I hope nickelodeon does the same and brings back Nick rewind as a 24/7 network
@@quentinmitchell4568 Several old-school Nicktoons are already airing on Pluto TV, which is owned by Paramount.
@@Goldstar_ True. But the channel needs more variety. Not just marathons of one show all day.
@@Goldstar_ sez the guy with the dragon ball pic lol
I hope it comes to Frndly tv
Fubo has a case, but since they don't own the content, they are at a huge disadvantage.
Cool that Comcast is doing that, unfortunately I'm trapped in Spectrum land. 🤬
Fubo wants all sports back. Warner Media is a big bully. I’m tired of bullies picking on Fubo
Last fall, I upgraded to the latest Fire Stick. Love it. I works some hard better than my previous Fire Stick
I worked on very similar cases when I used to work antitrust; Fubo and the other TV providers have a VERY strong case. I don't usually put odds on who will win a civil case or not because anything can happen however if this goes to trial I'd predict that Max, Fox & Disney have a VERY slim chance of winning. If you read through the antitrust law this would be as clear cut a violation of that as there ever has been because as much as I want a sports centric service this is anti competitive if they don't allow the TV providers to offer similar packages. At the end of the day however I foresee a settlement where the TV providers are no longer forced to carry networks they don't want or they can offer skinny packages to cater to those who don't want sports or want sports but not those channels.
METV Toons would be like Cartoon Network from the 90s.
I wonder if the difference between the free over the air channel and streaming paid access to MeTV Toon would be that the over the air would be the classic cartoons are edited for content and the paid would be unedited with limited commercial interruption or no commercial interruption.
The free version might have a limited loop of content, like the Adult Swim free stream. I guess the purpose would be for some markets tat don't carry MeTV stations.
I think Fubo is fighting for its life. The issue i see with their case is that they are a third party that transmits these channels, while the new servic would be from the owners of the channel.
I got the fire tv cube. I set it all up and found it changed the color on my tv and was just glicthy all around. I went back to Roku
Comprehensive news as always. Go get um !
Companies like Disney makes me glad that the first three Pre-Mickey Mouse cartoons are now in The Public Domain🙄👍
me tv toons yes
I’m really hoping xfinity get this channel
For the Hulu/Disney app merge, my main complaint is that the Watchlist and Continue Watching are not merged. Ideally, I should be able to move between them seamlessly.
Thank you for this update!
I will be looking out for this on my Antenna.
Will it be available in India also?
I'm Ready for MeTV Toons on Xfinity from Comcast is Coming Soon in the Summer 2024!!!?
For our Classic Cartoons for MeTV Toons!!!?
Would be really nice if you could start using the chapters feature
A question for Luke!
Which online system or streaming services, broadcast in 4K??
I'm surprised Pluto TV is adding more free channels. I wonder what's going to happen to Pluto TV once Paramount gets bought out, combine with another company (maybe Skydance?), or if they just sell their franchise 1 by 1.
Many of their "channels" are just one show. They could easily combine them on one channel.
Comcast may be successful with these cheaper internet plans, especially if their service is more stable, faster, and more consistent than 5G internet. That depends on each person's location. Also, if there is no contract or hidden fees.
The Black Friday hbo max deal is ending in May and when I went cancel they offered 3 more months at 4.99 a month.
I signed up for a year at $69.99. I think this deal is still available.
Is it going to be in the nyc market and will it be say on friendly tv or will METV plus be changed to METV 2 toons?
5G internet by Comcast at these
prices seems like an alternative
to our current 1G Plus Xfinity
Internet at a higher price.
We really don't need high speed
internet such as for gaming. 😊
Thanks
We love Pluto,
Luke, on the Disney+ app do you have the kids profiles for kids and does it block the more mature shows or movies that are advertised to watch? Since you use it more with smaller kids.
That launch date is 1 day before my birthday lol. YES!
i have crunchyroll. i like it but i think they could work on the how everything is set up. i do like they just added the ability for multiple userids within 1 account, before if more than one person was using your account it was a mess.
i would watch the cartoons if it had no commercials. i thought ad revenue was down. what kind of ads will they have.
My Firestick 4K 1st gen will be the last firestick i use currently doing research to find a replacement in time for the 2024 Pro and College football seasons
MeTV Toons sounds good (unfortunately, it doesn't look like it's coming to my city or anything I'm currently subscribed to right now); I just wish Warner Bros Discovery cared this much about Cartoon Network and new and up and coming talent. They've done a lot of talent very dirty: killing shows then burying them so the creators and talents can't receive any royalties, gutting Max's cartoon library, the whole Coyote VS Acme debacle and how the top brass has treated Adult Swim's talent is almost criminal (though to be fair, this was going on long before Discovery came along). Classics are great, but new talent needs to be nurtured. A company can't rely solely on nostalgia.
When there is no talent or quality there, all you have is nostalgia. Ironically Cartoon Network killed the goose that laid the golden egg, Saturday Morning Cartoons. Even when Cartoon Network started it wasn't that good. Can't speak to how they treated their shows and talent, they sucked anyways. *shrugs*
You mentioned 4K download -whilst it used to be 25 Mbps - better codecs now mean to view a video in 4K/Ultra HD you need only about 15 Mbps (for one stream) with most services I believe.
They need to get on Channel Box in the UK to do damage around the world on free to air advertised TV though.
I have a $69 per month internet with Comcast. I am not changing to the new service. The $30 is only an indroductory amount. The real price comes after that period. And with fees it is over $50.. And has less speed than what I now have.
The report I got is supposed to be from variety, Said it's not only warner brothers stuff, But also. All the major cartoon companies, From the past. Making the biggest collection of cartoons ever in one outlet, that be pretty neat
A question for Luke. Comcast prepaid internet for $30 sounds great. What fees are they not saying.
Im big fan all great classic cartoon specal tom a nd jerry top cat yogi bear❤😂
It's fir streaming services that got metv already i cant wait
What about Philo on June 25th
I am of mixed thoughts about the merger between Disney, Fox, and WB for sports. They are getting rid of the middle players who raise their rates to make a profit, but at the same time there won't be competition anymore for sports so they will control the cost outright and charge what they want. The longer term problem is that Disney, Fox, and WB will lose rights to many sports in the next few years when renegotiations come out - so their banding together is a short term solution not a long term as when those contracts come up for review, we all know that Amazon/Apple will out bid everyone else to gain those sports those networks at Disney, Fox, and WB used to have.
Anybody know if metv toons is on Davenport Florida?🥺
I wish they would bring MeTV to sling
Im upset I don't see ATL Market on the list. 😭
I hope cartoons will be on Frndly.
Is Verizon fios carrying this channel
Care less about sports, in our area ota sports may be going behind a pay wall rummer is.
Wonder if philo or frndly will get metv toons???
There us nothing illegal in selling direct to consumers. Fubo has always been an aslo-ran service, so of course they are going to whine.
exactly, and it is why this whole fight is stupid. Why should they be forced only to sell these channels to fubo. Only reason these companies exist is that the content providers didn't have the infrastructure or means of delivering the content years ago, but now they do.
What is metv+?
Max streams all the seasons of looney tunes and the Flintstones and Jetsons
I love Crunchyroll, and they just added profiles so that i can keep my stuff separate from the rest of my family.
Will metv toon be in the twin cities?
I don't care about Sports TV so that channel can be banded and not effect me. I hope what it give in The Net Neutrality video will allow us in apartment complexs to chage ISPs without having to go thorw the court system.
I hope yall bring swamp things the cartoon and sliverhawks
I am going with the onn device google streaming devices
I’m not a sports fan, but I think government involvement just hurts competition and consumers pay for that.
I can't wait till it launches on philo and Frndly I hate antennas 😂😂😂
antennas are easy, you find the sweet spot then leave it alone. It's not like back in the old analog days, when you had to move them around every 5 minutes to get better reception
no
It still doesn't work
No those people can do whatever they want to do with what they own
Not if they are in violation of the constitution by committing antitrust violations, which this clearly would be.
Metv cartoons😂 This will last six months
😂 Next up save by the bell 24/7😂
MeTV Cartoons for grownups who refuse to grow up!
Last a lot longer than you think. Lots of people will watch this.
As well as 24/7 Teen Titans Go!
I'm looking forward to METV Toons and I'm in my 40's. There is a bunch of us who grew up watching many of these cartoons. It will be fun to share viewing time with the kids. These classics will gain new fans in the younger generation. They simply don't make cartoons like they used to. Your comparison to saved by the bell is way off, however that was a popular show in it's run, and spawned spinoffs. I would imagine there is still a market for it, but no where near the market there will be for these classic toons. Mark my word, this toon channel will have higher primetime ratings than many of the current OTA digital networks and cable networks as well
@@greyeagle4388 I hope they show most of the old Hannah Barbera, superhero cartoons like Space Ghost, Herculoids, Superfriends, etc. as well as some of the other mystery, solving cartoons, like the Chan Clan, Josie and the pussycats, speed buggy, and the funky Phantom
No I do not think that this sports package is a bad thing because hopefully the flip side will happen if this new sports package goes through. I'm hoping it also means that hopefully it open the door for closer and closer to al la cart. I'm hoping that say if I want to get the Disney channel but I don't want to see ESPN, that because of this new package it would almost force the companies to let me have one channel without having to take all the channels.
I agree. As a sports fan, I love the idea of paying just for the sports channels and not all those channels that air reality TV, the cable news food fight, etc. I spent most of the 80s and 90s accessing television through a backyard dish. Even after the cable channels started scrambling their feeds, there were companies such as Turner Vision that offered the big bundles, but also a la carte. You could just pick the channels you wanted and pay a fixed fee (very reasonable at the time) for each. I hope that can happen with streaming in the future.
Nobody is saying this is a bad thing, even Fubo and other TV providers. However what they are saying is that this is anti competitive and a violation of antitrust, which it is. Ultimately what the TV providers are hoping to gain is the ability to offer similar packages so that the end consumer doesn't have to pay for channels they don't want but with the current contracts they are forced to carry those channels and pass the cost onto the consumer.
a new tv station in a cable box in a age of cord cutting does that make any sense. to any of you ?
Its an ota channel and you don't need cable.
Exactly. It’s a free antenna station. Yay! 😁
@@facerw ty for explain that to me.
It is a free OTA channel, that will also be offered to cable networks, very much like the current METV is already being aired
Think 🤔 of it warner bros, and other stop ✋️ with free movies and TV show , all you are doing in the long run is destroying your business for the future. The product you and other studio are putting out now isn't really that good. Your dilute the product .
For the company's sake, I hope that Warner Brothers has some new animated projects in works, even if we likely won't see them for another year or 2 years.
The more channels like this, the better it is for consumers. We have to pay so much for TV as it is. Would you really want to pay for 50 year old television. These networks give new life to shows that would just be sitting on a shelf collecting dust. If they can make ad revenue by airing them, why shouldn't they. Yes they could turn it into a subscription service, but in today's fractured market, they would never get enough subs to be profitable
@@greyeagle4388 The problem is that no one wants to pay for old stuff. New and original programming costs money to produce, so that justifies the companies charging a monthly or annual fee to view them. But a retro channel? Nah, people aren't willing to pay for that, at least not by itself. Ideally, a streaming service should have both classics and originals.
Will the cartoons be edited for sensitive viewers?, if so, it’s pointless
