From the moment I first saw her on tv back in 1986, I instantly fell in love with her and carried that crush for her at least through the 90s. I'm a year younger than Deborah Gibson and I just couldn't get enough of her appearances and music. I kinda rekindled that crush about a year or so ago when I watched one of her newest videos here on RUclips. Damn if she ain't just as beautiful as the day she first hit the scene and her talent to sing hasn't aged a bit.
Saw this when it first aired in 1988. Atlantic had one of the most formidable artist rosters in history: Ray Charles, LaVern Baker, the Clovers, John Coltrane, the Drifters, Ornette Coleman, the Young Rascals, Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, Yes, etc. And Debbie Gibson blew EVERYBODY off stage that night, including a reunited Led Zeppelin. I was fairly familiar with her work before this. But this was the performance that put me permanently in her corner.
Led Zeppelin was a disappointment to me that night. Mainly because Robert Plant's voice was not in top form. It was painful to hear 😖. Debbie and Zeppelin were the only reasons I watched the show. Thankfully, Debbie delivered.
I remember watching this as it happened thinking this poor girl is out there singing her heart out and nobody in the audience cared even a little bit as they were all waiting patiently for Zeppelin.
One time I saw her at a restaurant so I went up to say hi and her bodyguards beat me to a pulp while she just watched, smirking at me. Best day of my life
O loco meu, o loco bixo, olhai essa fera ,galera, quem sabe faz ao vivo, galera, tanto no pessoal quanto no profissional, orrra meu! Eitaaaaaaaa galera, e aí galera debbie Gibson cantando ao vivo no palco do domingão do Faustão, quer dizer no Madison square Garden
Debbie ended up in the emergency room after this performance with a panic attack. She was prescribed Xanax and thus started a several year dependence on the drug. This performance was at Madison Square Garden.
I admired her so much! Imagine how much courage it takes for her to stand before the hard rock fans who didn't want to see her. It made her extremely anxious before the show, but she definitely killed it. She put every ounce of her energy into the performance and ended up earning the respect of the audience. However be extremely exhausted and be sent to the ER eventually. What a brave girl she is!
Atlantic please invite Debbie for your 75th anniversary concert.
Wow, she did this at 17. So amazing.

@@ronnyfarang586 No I didn't. They fall under that "EVERYBODY" reference.

Excuse me she started taking xanax in the mid 90s.
Além do vício em remédios, ela teve a doença do carrapato, síndrome do pânico, mas graças a Deus ,felizmente superou tudo isso, tá ai
That is not true lol
Good for y’all to simply state this. It’s s*** like these posts that makes the truth no longer what it is. (See D. J. Trump for more evidence) Kudos!
