What steps did a 13 year old take to enter college, let alone medical school? Skipping several grades? I’m a very good student, 14 years old, and I cannot fathom entering college before 17. She must have deliberately went through some process to where she is now, lots of hard work. Thank you for the inspiration!
It depends where she is living and what University accepted her. In a normal case, college has no age limit and you can be accepted it at any time. Though, you will be tested and depending on your work, you'll be accepted or not.
@@international.somewhere that’s definitely part of it but to get into college @ 13 you definitely have to go through a special process or perhaps skip several grades.
It's quite likely she entered and graduated high school at an early age, so yes, essentially skipping several grades. Depending on the school system, local education laws, and possibly the school itself, she may have been homeschooled by private tutors, or part of a specialized program/organization for exceptionally talented youth. Her advanced educational intelligence was likely recognized when she was a small child, possibly before elementary school, and then confirmed through rigorous testing to determine her relative grade level performance. She may also be on accelerated programs which cover multiple grades in shorter amounts of time.
She must have GONE through a process...went is past tense. After "have" use past participle - which in this case is "gone". EX: She went to the store. Past tense. EX: She would have gone to the store, but she ran out of time. Past Participle. Keep up the good work. All comes in its due time. Enjoy your childhood.

“She always gave me opportunities over things” wow so well spoken for a 13 year old!
what do you mean? she can talk, basic human thing, and please do not tell me I'm hater or racist, good for her
This is a HUGE achievement, I really admire her for being able to do this at such a young age. I love that she can be an example for many other young girls of color. However, I’m a bit worried as she’s still just a kid and we all know how med school is. Regardless, I wish her the best!
She's Gifted
@@theredpencil2564 it’s not only because of that it’s because she’s actually worked hard for it and she had support it’s all about passion and hard hard work anyone can be gifted
She's not necesaarily a kid, but she'll definitely sacrifice a lot in Medicine no doubt. As long as she hold that dream in her mind, she'll definitely make it.
@@captaindesperatehousewife7138 bro 13 is still a kid...most med school students are in their mid 20s. But yes I agree, she can make it as long as she is determined

I mean, we don't know whether she's below or above puberty to know whether she's a young adult or a child, my dear. I believe the more young she is, the better it will be because she'll have it easier getting used to the life of Medicine compared to many Doctors or Med Students who often struggle in their first years.
Such a well spoken young lady. May God continue to bless her.
Very intelligent and beautiful young lady. She will go far. Her mom is blessed to have such a brilliant daughter.
The daughter was blessed to be born to a great Mother who nurtured her potential, and provided her with a secure life so that she could self-actualize at age 13.

This mom is this child's advocate. This is what I've tried to do for my child, and it was not easy in a public school setting, with so much drama to contend with. I applaud this mom and her daughter for their home schooling journey 🙏
I applaud you for standing up for your child in a system bogged down in red tape, overworked teachers and under funded schools. Keep up the good work and utilize your public library, city councilman office, and every program you can find....even if they're expensive because most have donors to help students cover costs.
I’m glad her parents encouraged her! I bet there are countless kids who could do amazing things if only their parents were as driven as they were
she's a high IQ genius- even if someone has great parents, this young girl was born with this genius.
@@sarahdubois2386 Yes but that genius has to be nurtured and cultivated. Plenty of kids are smart, but have poor examples and crappy parents.

@@amandar614 Exactly. And too many of us are ignorant about the dividends of early childhood stimulation to improving quality of life in our communities. There's a window of opportunity many others understand that gives other kids a leg up on us. Instead too many of us have to overcome the effects of poor nutrition, neglect, psychological abuse and programming to be less. I'll never forget the mentality of the aunts of 10 year old's already in the criminal system because they dropped a 5 year old off the top of a building for not stealing candy for them. For those questioning how this is possible:
You can be accepted early into medical schools. Much like gifted sports kids committing to college teams years before they finished high school. It’s rare but with her background and the things she’s already accomplished have already proven enough for medical schools to invest into her career. She does have to finished everything before starting. She can’t just go right into the program without MCAT and certain credits/credentials
As of right now, she’s is committed (much like sports kids) and just finishing up her requirements. They are investing in her right now but can ea
Easily take back their investment if she doesnt meet requirements or score well but this young lady seems so bright. She will do amazing things.
So basically be black and talented and you're in. Sounds like a bunch of affirmative action bullshit to me
The fact that you're comparing young athletes to young people who may be conducting surgery, when they don't even know who they are, is not even close to the same thing. Not even close. And people upvoted you? No wonder medical services suck now. We've accepted children into the field. Amazing stupidity.
@@KB-nt7eg Everyone is different. While the majority of people take a long time to figure out who they are - some come into this world knowing what they want to do. Also, if you think medical services "suck now" (as opposed to anytime before now), it certainly isn't because of this child.

Obviously a child prodigy
