I was streaming Batman returns a while back it was a crude stream had to film my television but that stream was awesome because a random Sega play tester actually showed up and discussed how difficult it was testing it such an awesome moment I felt like Sega welcomed me to the next level that night I bragged about it to everyone including my mom lol.
Man. I have this same setup but never knew about that Sega Cd sound out and into the HD Retrovision cable input. I always just plugged the sega cd cables in the tv. Very cool wiring.
Ooh, never thought to use an adapter for rerouting CD audio from Mixing into my HDRV. Nice, much cleaner setup than disconnecting HDRV audio plugs at the TV and plugging in the CD's audio through full cables.
Great review and breakdown of the setup. It goes well with the previous video. I was curious myself how all this connected and worked. I wasn't aware that different models had better or worse sound.
Thanks man. Yea the Genesis has so many different variations of just one console its just weird. Although from what I read and understand the Megadrive did not have as many variations of crappy sounding consoles .
@@8-Bit_Flashback Have you tested the genesis video to HDMI if there is a good adapter that will do it. Do you need a composite to HDMI? I am asking is not all newer TV'S support composite.
Thanks for running through the various methods of hook ups. I was going to hook up BOTH the Genesis 1 HD and CD audio outputs, but will run it through the Genesis 1 HD alone. Also, I hear hooking up the 5v wiring from Genesis to 32X is dangerous. Should I break that 9th pin on the patch cable to be safe?
I have model 2 genesis, sega cd 2 and 32x. I bought the 3 in 1 adapter (must have) and a scart converter with retrotink scart to HDMI. I connected my system to my receiver. I have tested it and I use the Sega Cd audio jack outputs over the sega 32x out for sound. There is a higher feedback through the 32X.
Test an audio CD for Stereo sound using the 1st setup at 5:42 I'm suspecting only the left channel of the SegaCD is being routed internally through the Model 1 Genesis and avoiding the mixing cable is going to lose SegaCD's right channel.
Funny how it said “high definition Graphics “ but apparently it was the audio that was high definition…also, I wonder if Sega removed that label from the console because they found out the audio was no longer high definition in later model 1 consoles.
using the better sound output megadrive and the RAD2x cable ,what cables plug into the sega mega cd1 console ?? this video shows no leads from the back of the sega mega cd1 console except the 3 in 1 power supply
Is there a way to get rid of the artifact dots along the bottom of the screen? I notice on my set-up using the Pound HDMI cables, when running Sega CD I get the same flickering dots at the bottom of the screen as your HD Retrovision cables. The dots only appear when running the Sega CD.
Not really the only thing you can do is use specific monitors or tvs that you can adjust the height of the display In small increments to make it not visible.
When you have the generic cables to your 32x then to the model one or model 2 Genesis this is where you find out that the generic cables are not all that great because the HD retrovision cables will not work properly
I finally got a 32x and I know I hooked it up right. I tried on a model 1 and model 2 using the official power blocks and for some reason, I get no power to the console. 🤔 I disconnect and tried the Genesis on its own and the power light does come on with a picture, but when connected all together the Genesis does not power on. Probably a defective 32x? I got 5 days to take it back. Yikes.
Why pay for a Mega SD when you have the equipment. I have this setup with a flash cart. That's pretty much enough. I have around 25 Sega CDs. The Mega SD is a great product if you only have the Megadrive/Genesis and the 32X
@@ElricSowrd of all of my discs not one has disc rot. Not saying it's not a problem, it is. However for the price it's still not worth it imo. You can easily still burn discs

Nice to see, I have the exact same set up since the cables came out. I then go via retrotink 5x.

Very cool! Totally jealous of this set-up. Rock on man!
Can you also do a Genesis Tower Of Power Mini mod tutorial too please.

Those are some super clean consoles...

The dots along the bottom are information, they’d normally be hidden in overscan on CRT TVs and monitors

For the "High Definition Graphics" Genesis, you should hook up a Mega Modem as well, and perhaps also get the 128k VRAM mod and the 32X DTACK fix.

And I've never heard of Virtua Hamster.

Does anyone know if they make a mixing cable with a rounded edge on one end so you don’t have that long cable sticking out in front?
Mine was a lot dif from this since the segacd was a literal side attachment
