This head new is $200 USD cheaper than a brand new 6505+ head. And having owned both, let me tell you, this is far superior in general tones and versatility. I still own this thing and the 6505 is long gone.
What an awesome upload! I've been waiting for you guys to do a review of "any" evh product for the past couple of years, and here it is...Merry Christmas to me :-) Some incredible talent on a great amp, rock on guys!
Thanks for the highlight video. Way too much blabber in most Chappers videos. This one was great. Nice demo of the different channels and tones. The elves were nice too.
I completely agree, Peavey often doesn't get enough credit. In the end though, no matter what company manufactures Ed's amps, they're still gonna be designed around that same "sound" he hears in his head, so they're all gonna sound extremely similar.
price wise i was comparing the 100w and 120w versions. i did some reading on this guy and apparently the eh 5150 II and the 6505+ were the same, but the 5150 III has more preamp tubes and a redesigned clean channel. even so, i feel like Hartley Peavey never gets any recognition :/ this is still a Peavey design with a few fender improvements.
guitar nerdness at its best. two pretty elves in the background, not even looking at them just shreddin'. boys, just to remind you, you started playin' to get chicks, not to avoid them... :-)
best demo of the 5150 III i've seen and now i'm in love!

I wish they would do this with the new one with upgraded knobs and maybe a VS video with the hundred watt

Would you say that this is better than the Marshall dsl100h for metal and hard rock
So you're running a reverb pedal correct? The EVH III 5150 I have does not have one.

4:35 onwards. Holy shit Dave.
other than the EVH being 50 watts, why would anyone buy this and not the Peavey? this is just a 6505+ with EVH stripes and a huge markup.
Chicks......I used to ask myself how chappers vids could possibly be better.....now I know
not only do I want this amp, I'm also developing an elf-ear fetish..
3:57 XTREME-BEA ACTIVATED \m/
