How good are these guys? The fun & energy in this is infectious. This was done during quarantine so none of the guys were even together. The editing of this was great & was done in the Tik Tok style. Love all the guys parts, with Tim's rumbling bass underlying it all. And Adam's beatboxing is phenomenal as always including sea swells & castanets. Amazing how he increased the tempo from one song to another.

Sea shanties are NOT "pirate songs." They were sung by pirates, because pirates were seamen, but they are not for pirates, and they are NOT about pirates, except maybe some modern silly mockeries. Even the last one ("Santiana") was about a privateer, not pirates. One of the only things Pirates of the Caribbean got right was Gibbs telling young Miss Swann that it is "bad luck to be singing about pirates" when out at sea... Shanties are songs about navy life, whaling, or the loneliness of a sailor's life. They were sung to help keep the rhythm of hard, repetitive tasks, or to pass the time of day. But they were NEVER about pirates.

Good Reaction. The songs are more Working songs than pirate songs. They were used in order to make the sailors work in rhythm.
