Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain is a steel roller coaster built by Vekoma located at Disney's Animal Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort, Florida. The ride is themed around the Yeti protecting the Forbidden Mountain next to Mount Everest. Expedition Everest is the only roller coaster at Disney's Animal Kingdom, and the tallest roller coaster at any Disney theme park.
In this video, we ride Front Row, experience a temporary breakdown on the lift hill, encounter the Yeti and make it safely back to the foot of the Forbidden Mountain and check out the Serka Zong Bazaar at the ride exit for some fantastic Yeti Merchandise
Expedition Everest opened on the April 7, 2006 and is manufactured by Vekoma and designed by Walt Disney Imagineering. Expedition Everest reaches a top speed of 50mph and a height of 61m.
Expedition Everest is located in the Asia area of Disney's Animal Kingdom. Asia was the first expansion area added to Disney's Animal Kingdom and opened in 1999. Asia is set in the fictional kingdom of Anandapur, which means the place of many delights in Sanskrit. Anandapur evokes the traits of Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Mongolia, Nepal, and Thailand. Asia contains both the riverside village of Anandapur and Serka Zong, which is set in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one of the theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Orlando owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company. Disney’s Animal Kingdom opened on Earth Day, April 22nd, 1988, and is the largest of the four theme parks built at Walt Disney World. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is dedicated and themed around the natural environment and animal conservation, a philosophy pioneered by Walt Disney himself.

We asked for the front row and you get moved to a separate queuing area, have to wait longer but it was worth it. Been on it quite a few times while here as queue times are only 25mins for standby. Thank you so much for the support 👍👍

According to a quick internet search, some people are saying it will be removed and fixed others saying it cant be removed! The rumours range from it is too difficult and/or too expensive to fix! Although in a 2023 article, MouseTrapNews stated that Disney will remove the Yeti in the next Expedition Everest refurbishment and it will be replaced with a screen which sounds possible
