    Hi Stijns, the universal joints at the top of your actuators, where did you source those? What dimensions are they? Did they hold up?

    • @stijnsprojects
      @stijnsprojects  4 месяца назад +1

      I found them on AliExpress but they are now unavailable. Yes, they are still okay.

      @@stijnsprojects are they 10mm I'd for threaded part? Did you cut threads into these joints?

    • @stijnsprojects
      @stijnsprojects  4 месяца назад

      The outside diameter is 28 mm, I tapped an M16 thread on the inside

      @@stijnsprojects thank you. That's a bigger joint than I've seen. Did you add an axial bearing above the joint? How did you solve the need to have one side rotate freely?

    • @stijnsprojects
      @stijnsprojects  4 месяца назад

      There is no bearing in the top or bottom. The ball screw inside the actuator allows the rotation of the top compared to the bottom.

    Sorry to ask you a question on an old vid, but how do you attach shaft to the shaft adapter? Glue, thread, press fit or maybe somethong else? Thanks :)

    • @stijnsprojects
      @stijnsprojects  Год назад

      You mean the connection between the motor shaft and the ball screw? I used a standard jaw coupling, these have a screw to clamp it to the shaft.

    • @lromaniuk
      @lromaniuk Год назад

      @@stijnsprojects Sorry for measliding question. I meant piston shaft to the ballnut adapter. I have this dillema how to do it on my project. My first thought was threaded connection but I dont have a lathe with that large through hole to thread the shaft, so i'm looking for alternatives. Thanks.

    • @stijnsprojects
      @stijnsprojects  Год назад

      At 8:51 you can see how I connected the tube to the steel piece that bolts to the ball nut. There is an interference fit between the tube and the steel piece to ensure its straight and its welded on the bottom to secure it without deformation.

    would it work as a 6 DOF flight simulator too? Cause actually I chose to make a flight simulator as my graduation project

      @stijnsprojects  6 месяцев назад

      Take a look on the FlyPT website, you will find flight sim games that are compatible. You just need a different user input device.

    I’ve been looking at building a rig for a while, where can I buy the electrical stuff and what moters should I go with?

    • @stijnsprojects
      @stijnsprojects  2 года назад

      Now that I've had my rig for a while, I think there are better designs. If I would make a new one, I would use RV030 gearboxes like dofreality but I would stick to brushless motors because they are so powerful. I bought my motors on Hobbyking but they are discontinued, I don't know what is a good price/performance replacement at the moment. Things like limit switches etc you can buy on AliExpress or eBay or ... .

  • @SaintAngerFTW

    Are these small motors good enough for the long term..... Can you upload a long term review of your rig please?

    • @stijnsprojects
      @stijnsprojects  Год назад +1

      The size of the motors is good but if I would build it again, I would take lower Kv motors and run them at a higher voltage. I choose these because they were a very good deal at the time.
