Maria Bueno was playing the best match of her life. Margaret Smith (Court) was a huge favorite but Bueno played impossibly good. Her play was beautiful to watch, esthetically equisite.
In the 80s, telecapodistria tv broadcast many Grand Slam finals from the 60s onwards, commentated by the legendary Rino Tommasi and Gianni Clerici, and if I'm not mistaken they also broadcast the women's final between Bueno and Court in full; what would I pay to see that and other full matches of Bueno again!
Back when the western world had class, society was tasteful and the youth were mature and respectable. Societies makeup these days is a far cry from what it used to be. I would do anything to go back to the glory days of the Western world
@@johnredpath569 lol I'm 28 and I know how bad this generation is because I was surrounded by it. But it really doesn't take a genius to see Western society is degrading, young people are less capable then their parents generation, they have more mental health problems and most youth these days are very rude and vulgar. These days you see kids telling their parents to f off and only a few decades ago, you would have never seen children talking to their parents like that. I honestly have no clue why you would enjoy and want to defend western culture degrading

Maria Bueno had such touch at the net - her volleys just died on the grass...
Many thanks to Pathe. You managed to conserve some priceless clips.
What an incredible point to end the women's final!
Wow 1964 and HD quality! Wonderful.
Roy Emerson had a really wild-looking service motion - but obviously it was very effective!
Maria Esther Bueno 👏🏼🇧🇷
