Eazy Pods are great little filters. Easy to set up and use with a relatively small footprint and very easy to clean. I have two running on my pond (during pond season, not during winter) and they do a great job. I do recommend that you also install a moving bed filter when running an Eazy Pod for additional biological filtration though. Cheers.
Great review 👌🏻 Me personally would rather diy an eazypod but be more like the Nexus’s 😅 but imo don’t think I’d ever change from the KK Manor Bays systems “Horses for Courses” tho and more versatile imopinion🧐
A good video Lee, something I am looking in to. At the moment I’m running a 3 bay multi filter it’s very big 2x2 X3 so 6ft long. One of the advantages of it been so big it’s in the sun all day so it works as a heater as it get hot to the touch. My pond is up at 9° yesterday mad this time of the year (December 2022) So I’m a little on the fence about changing it. What Iv got works well.
Multi bay filters are undoubtedly a great option. They are extremely versatile and will be around for ever. You can use different media, like shells to stabilise ph and fine foam to get the clarity up. Can't fault a good bay filter. We use large hydra filter still on our main sales tanks. Work like clockwork.
@@leecalladine it was a bargain when I got it, right place at the right time I paid £50 for it yes that’s £50 it came with a pro clean, ultimate 55w uv system and a new bulbs for it as well. Was full of different media. From foam lava rock. (That was new) The lady that I got it from was moving house and wasn’t taking it with them but it need to be moved on before the move. She also said she had a koi and sturgeon 5ft that was in the pond she gave them all away 😳 She was happy with the £50 I feel like I had Rob her, she wouldn’t take any more. But that’s a win for me!!

I'm helping my sister to install this in a pond build. My question is, how you you regulate the flow from the bottom of the pond into the easy pod? The pond is 8 x 12 x 3 foot which is over 12 tonnes of water pushing down. I'm concerned I'll overwhelm the pod. Do I need a pump to push the water back to the pond if the pod is stored above the water level of the pond? If I do that, will the gravity feed be enough to reach the pod in an elevated position like that? Thanks if you can assist. Great vid btw.
I do like the filter,but when cleaning the filter,it's knocks back the biological side, and you get traces of ammonia etc,if you have the room,get a nexus,it has a prefilter,so you are never disturbing the biological media, thanks
@@Chequr_Prostate the air pump doesn't have to be run except for the cleaning process. You are provided with the option of running air stones in the pond but you don't need to use it. A 40 might do it just take longer to clean.
As far as I can see without the pipe the media would just spill over the discharge. The nexus was altered by putting a lid on the k1 perhaps that is where the confusion is coming in?
Ok thanks this will be first pond,if I go with a nexus 220 I will make it gravity fed,what would be the best set up regarding size of bottom drain ,uv,pump,skimmer and and anything else you would advise on or not on pond roughly this size thanks in advance
4.500 hour on giveth feed sysem work really well on have stonking leves that what I running on my shop tanks and shower be nice pop over sss you some time Lee but don't no we're u are jp watergardens

DIY filters are great. I hopefully doing one myself soon on some new tanks where putting in.

The pump would regulate the flow. To fast and not enough water Wil come through the bottom drain.

Yes they can be used as a standalone filter. You would also need a UV unit and a pump along with other pipework etc.
The filter would probably be adequate for a sensible stocked pond of that size.

Big air pump. Think it's about 60 or 70 ltr per minute.
Do you think a 40 would be suitable, thinking about the power usage.

I though with mark 2 version you didn’t have to fit the centre pipe when cleaning? Also do you have link for the threaded spigot for the waste pipe?

The spigot is just a threaded socket. 11.5in threaded male to 40mm domestic inside/11/2 pressure outside. Sorry no link .

It's probably a price issue. I certainly agree the slide valve on the easy pod bottom could be upgraded to a ball valve.
