The funny thing is that I didn't come across this song because of U2. Of course, I knew of U@ and loved many of their songs, but I stumbled across this gorgeous gem because of the background singer, Lykke Li.

I grew up hearing about the troubles from the network news. It was happening half a world away and I was more concerned with the latest music and TV programs, hanging out with my friends and who was the latest boy I had a crush on. I didn't know any better and the adults weren't talking about it. I'm sorry!

This is about a man whose alcoholism ruined his life a little Daemon whispered to him when he felt like a drink “Go on have more you can do as you please then blame alcohol” so he did and lost his self esteem it was a cruel joke the Daemon played on him he lost everything by listening to him eventually
