My wife and I were laughing when you ate the ham.....'ahhhhh no!" We will only go to Wicked Spoon and Wynn buffets. We miss the buffets back when all hotels had them. We appreciate you and your wife for all the great informative videos! Keep up the great work!👌
I was in Vegas last month (visiting from the UK) and I ate at the MGM buffet three times, and to be honest it wasn't that bad - but maybe the difference is that I was there early, maybe 8.30am each time, and it was strictly a breakfast for me, not brunch ... fresh fruit and yoghurt, loads of bacon, a couple sausages, a cheese/mushroom omelette made fresh (no queue at that time of day!), some OJ (albeit watered down!) and tea and a couple of danishes ... not bad value for $30, I thought ... also ate at the Bellagio buffet two mornings, at $60 a time, and, yeah, it was a whole lot better, with a wider choice of better-quality food, and more suited to brunch than breakfast ... but not really worth $60, I thought ...
I reviewed this buffet a few months back. Everything tasted better than it looked. But things look even worse in this video. Really sad to see how far this buffet has fallen from its heyday. I'm sorry you never saw Vegas prior to 2009. The REAL Vegas was late 90s/early 2000s. The "good old days" died somewhere around 2005.
Vegas buffets are so 1990's. It went out with 99 cent shrimp cocktails. You couldn't pay me to eat at any buffet. With people coughing into them, foods not kept at proper temperature and old food just getting older. It's a recipe to invite an illness....and the prices aren't even decent anymore.
My wife and I went to that buffet once and used a MyVegas reward. We haven’t been back ever since because of all the reasons you mentioned. It’s a small buffet for such a big hotel, and the food just wasn’t good. There are so many better options all over Vegas. We’re actually surprised it’s still open.
Of all the places to eat at in Vegas, I don't understand wanting to eat at the buffet. I know it's convenient if you're staying there but I would rather eat somewhere else. I've been to other casino buffets and they're all the same. Find a decent place off strip and have a better meal and experience.
You do get the mimosa at the Luxor, Excalibur, and Bellagio buffet too as MGM gold, but only if they stamped the letter G on your receipt, and if your server see that, so it is a hit or miss inconsistent as a perk, as i had gotten at all 3
I remember MGM in 2009, we got in on that deal too, free passes to the buffet 3x per day. And that buffet was 🔥 the crab legs were split so they were easy to eat and delicious! Vegas now buffets are trash.
I haven't heard many good things at all about MGM buffet post covid. Hate when the food is luke-warm or cool so I will take your rec and avoid this one. Thanks for the review!
Thanks for toughing it out through this one for our benefit. You could have went to so many other places to have a great meal in LV. I've stayed at MGM a couple different times and glad I haven't spent the money on their buffet... and probably never will. I went to the Wynn Buffet in May after watching your review of it - I was looking at others, but your video put it at the top for me... and the Wynn Buffet was really great!! I'm going back to LV in Sept. and will probably hit the Wynn again (although I would like to try Bacchanal)
I ate there in 1996. It was a new hotel. The buffet a dinner was pretty good. If I remember correctly it was around 10-12 dollars. It was busy and the wizard of Oz theme added to the atmosphere back then at the MGM Grand.
$12 was pretty steep for a buffet at that time. Back then, a buffet at Cicis Pizza with soft drink was $4.32. Golden Corral back then with soft drink was around $10.90 for dinner. Today, a buffet at "raise the flag" Pancho's is between $17 and $20.
Old Country Buffet level from the looks of it. Maybe slightly better. I remember staying the in the late 90's and the buffet was great nothing compared to the Easter buffet at the Mirage, it was truly not just great food, but the presentation was off the chain. I am glad I was able to experience Vegas at that time. The Paris, had a dinner buffet that was basically all you can eat delicacies. I would imagine you would have to pay 150 to 200 a person to get that level of food. It wasn't cheap then, maybe around 35 a person, seems like a bargain in today's economy.
Last time I had the MGM buffet and enjoyed it was like you said in 2009 during the recession. I went back in 2015 and like you I said hell nah. Never again.
That burrito looked EXACTLY like the one I had last year! It was horrendous, probably been sitting there for a year. That buffet is absolutely the worst. I've been waiting for this video!
Great Video! I have to remind myself that breakfast out is expensive but would not pay over $30 for a breakfast buffet. All you can eat is fine but probably not for breakfast, maybe spend that $30 for a nicely prepared and served meal so it tastes good and doesn't send you right back to bed. I didn't see any amazing cheesecake (my favorite) but you left her at home? Maybe next time. ;-)
To be fair enough, I had better breakfast at the local diner than the MGM grand buffet. Even the gas stations have better quality than the MGM grand buffet. I tried it yesterday and regret it, but I have to admit the beacon and the country fried steak are actually good.
There is usually a server that brings you your drinks. You leave the tip on the table for the server. If you don't order any drinks then most people skip the tip.
Never tried the MGM buffet, and now will definitely avoid. Thanks for taking one for the team. In 2023 we had the Excalibur and got the comp Mimosa as MGM Gold. Buffet then was good. We came back in 2024 to Excalibur and buffet was not as good, and did not get mimosa offer, still MGM Gold.
How would the price compare to a breakfast of waffles or french toast, sausage, bacon and beverages in a restaurant on the strip? Could this be a fair option if you choose wisely and don't expect a gourmet experience? It seems that you liked most of the breakfast foods.
That’s pretty much the only reason these buffets draw a crowd anymore. A sit-down breakfast at any strip restaurant is going to cost $35 per person, so if you can find enough things you like at the buffet it’s still a decent deal.
Nothing more than a Golden Coral on steroids. Never in my life would I pay that much for a breakfast buffet, and I have money to burn. Your effort is admirable.
I notice Luxor, Excalibur and MGM all say "The Buffet", like they cook everything at a central kitchen and send it out to the 3 different locations? As someone who has eaten at both Luxor's & this buffet, I have to say that Luxor's buffet is better than this one simply in terms of quality & value. I do agree with Jordan that this is the worst buffet in the MGM portfolio & one of the two worst in Vegas with only Circus Circus's (another buffet that I have had) being worse than this. MGM Grand should be absolutely embarrassed by this buffet so much so that they should do what Rio did & replace it with a food hall in my view.
The real reason why buffee lines are small now. Prices... to high.... come on $30.00+ per person. Way to high.. ham taste dryer because it sits.. sad that buffees are high in price. Lower the prices.. not affordable for most people.
lol @ 3:10 "Who's going to eat bread on a buffet" Proceeds to eat biscuits and gravy(yes i know theres a difference between cold rolls and biscuits). The thing that gets me is the price they charge for what is relatively low quality for a buffet. Stick to the basics and if people want something special they can go to a restaurant. Its brunch so by 11 all items should be out. How hard can it be?
My experience was the same in OCT 2023.....everything was cold or just warm... also everything was dried out. Waste of Money. I have better food at Denny's or Waffle House and it cost me 50 bucks with tax . Absolutely never going back.
Thanks for sharing another buffet review. My partner & I used to go to the MGM & Excalibur buffets but only if we got the 2-for-1 deals via the MyVegas slot apps. Otherwise, I agree that they're not worth the price. At MGM, I'd go to the carving & omelette stations, while at Excalibur I'd go to the carving & crepe stations.
What could possibly go wrong with picking a burrito sitting under a heat lamp? I think that is a huge plus that they had chicken sausage. I don't eat pork and that is a rare find on a buffet. I wish you could have tried some more non pork items first. You might have had better luck. Not many people try and eat reasonably kosher though nowadays with all the pork marketing and biblical misinformation over the years. Your review was way too harsh imo
Every buffet I’ve been to had chicken sausage as an option, although this time it was bad. How can a review be too harsh when it is fully based upon the reviewer’s opinion? The buffet was poor. MGM should be embarrassed to serve it. That’s MY opinion.

@@ShowMeVegas Oh please review the Circus Circus Buffet, this may be even worse than the MGM based on the reviews
Give Circus Circus buffet a go...just as bad and smells like a dolla store
it looks way smaller than i went to last time.
There wasn’t much. Shockingly poor selection.
My experience was the same in OCT 2023.....everything was cold or just warm... also everything was dried out. Waste of Money. I have better food at Denny's or Waffle House and it cost me 50 bucks with tax . Absolutely never going back.
I didn’t even want to try the lunch food because it looked so bad!
I ate at the MGM Grand Buffet and thought it was terrible. do not waste your money or resort credit
Sounds familiar. Thanks for watching!
No prime rib 🤯
Not at this cheap buffet. Not at Excalibur or Luxor either…
NONE of that food looked too good. I think for breakfast your better off in a good coffee shop.
Does this guy look grimy or is it just me? Looks like he had a rough night and didn't wash his face when he woke up.
Yeah
.this used to be really good ....not anymore
Don't eat the bread.
Never.
Consistently terrible food.... great review!
A couple items were good. Everything else? Mediocre at best, poor at worst.
i live in Vegas. isnt it common knowledge that the MGM buffet is the worst in the city?
@@delcodave it’s not. Circus Circus is way worse.
MGM buffet is terrible
Odd options for 09:30, frankly.
Don’t know what this means…
Just that the food options for that time of day were odd. Dinner st 09:30 doesn't work for me.
@@hotreds ohhh, RUclips tagged 9:30 as a video timestamp so I thought you were talking about something at 9 minutes 30 seconds of the video!
Oops, sorry about confusion!
MGM Grand Buffet is bunk. especially for the $$$
Agreed.
Chicken sausage is bad any day, anywhere. Once and done. Never again. Pork only!! Same for bacon. Must be pork.
Certainly at a buffet en masse level. There's definitely good ways to do it at home. Not being churned out
Pitiful
Luke warn food 🤢👎🏼👎🏼 it’s a no go
You might want to just quit Buffets. They pretty much have sucked for decades.
As long as people want to watch videos about them, I'll eat them!
So, did you tip them?😂
Did I tip my server? Yes. In cash.
