Same here. I stopped collecting GI Joes around 7th grade and got into Basketball and girls lol. But I loved going to Toys r US and buying Joes for ($5 a pop). I always tended to like the Cobras over the good guys lol.

I'm 50 and just started collecting this line a little over a month ago. It's been tricky tracking down some of the exclusives (and expensive) but I've managed to collect 48 boxed (51 figures total with multi-packs) with another 9 boxed (10 figures with a multi-pack) on pre-order. Still haven't decided on whether or not I'm going to fund the Dragonfly yet... I'd really like to see all 3 extra figures unlocked to make it more of a value. Stuff ain't cheap up here in Canada and with currency exchange, taxes and duty it will be very pricey. Figures cost 35.99+ here and ToyRUs charges 44.99 for the Target exclusives since we don't have Target stores up here. It's brutal trying to buy freaking toys in 2023, a kid would have to work a 40/h week job to afford this stuff! 😂
The hunt in some ways, is part of the fun. When I switched my mindset from collecting only the figures I wanted to getting them all I knew it was going to be pricey. The worst case of this was when I bought Duke- wow $$$. I think he cost close to what I paid for Serpentor. This is definitely not a kid’s hobby lol. As adults we also have to consider storage and that’s mainly why I’m leaving in boxes. Sounds like you have a nice collection going. On the dragonfly I’ll just say if you change your mind after the campaign, price will be bad but if you buy it and don’t want it - getting your money back probably won’t be an issue. Thanks.
Go check out a Ross if you can. I've been finding them there for about 5.99 each. Larger packs like the snake eyes with brown pants and timber go for about 11.99.

I'm waiting on the Retro-card SS and SE along with another version of the Crimson Guard and Zartan👍🔥🐍. *ALLEY VIPER* is da bomb. I had him back in the day and the modern version is 🔥🔥🔥🐍.
That is a solid wave of figures - Zarana looks great and I love the Crimson guard. I’m not an army builder but somehow I ended up with 3 lol. Alley Viper has some amazing tactical gear, love the equipment.

The 05 Scarlett you have is the redeco. And I'm like you, started last July with a retro cardback Lady Jaye I saw at my local comic shop. To cut a long story short, from choosing a few of them I ended up collecting every single release today. I open them though. Even the rare most expensive ones! I'm 44 and I am reliving my childhood with this line.
I wasn’t going to get any card backs but the cardback Gung-Ho was so much better than the boxed one. All together I’ve gotten 4 cardbacks and opened all of them. I really wish they’d release more vehicles. I’m with you definitely reliving my childhood, just need a motorized tank ASAP.

So I am buying doubles of everything and 6-7 of each army builders and they are taking up a lot of room in my game room, now I am thinking of only keeping 00-100 in the box and then opening the double of everything after 100. I know this video was 6-months ago, have you changed your mind about keeping them in box at the rate they are releasing them?
I’m glad they stayed in the boxes still. I have a pretty big game room where they are stored and man they take up a lot of space. I do really enjoy looking at the box art every time I’m down there through. I think you have a good strategy too. You can make a really nice display that way especially with all the vehicles coming.

Blind boxes drive me crazy, How can you rate Serpentor number one without seeing the sculpt? If you have not opened the box you dont actually know whats inside. Does it really hurt the value to open the box? Cant always count on Hasbro to put everything in there. maybe spiderman is inside. You should take them out and enjoy them, display them. you can always put them back in the box. thanks for sharing
Oh it not a value thing for me- it’s a I have no room right now to display so I decided for now to keep them boxed up. I already have too many things on display. I totally get both prospectives on opening and not opening.

I stop collecting GI Joe as a kid before the stopped got out of hand so I knew nothing of the cobra-la and some of the corny stuff that came later. I love the early stuff like the Hiss Tank, Fang and Cobra Moccasin etc.

The Baroness is a favorite for me and the flimsy retro carded Walmart exclusive Baroness, but I agree with you the box version Baroness is lame but the retro carded package is a awesome Baroness but a lame flimsy carded package 😢
I was around when this line started, when they released the Snake eye for like $40. I had it in my cart and said "NAAAAAH, You collect masterpiece transformers, no need to start another collection" , and I refused to engage. Now a year or whatever later, I'm playing catch up and a lot of stuff I want is no longer around ( but im hearing some things sold out almost immediately). Im trying to stick strictly to Sunbow designs. For that reason I'm not fully sold on Duke and Scarlet. I also skipped Dusty and Falcon for that reason, but I saw an aftermarket where someone took off dustys head and redid (removed paint, etc.) it to look more falcon like. I'm going to have to start looking for these in the wild at discounts. Im going to see if people are successfully taking these figures apart, so repaints may be in the future.
Collecting boxes with windows i get it, but collecting boxes without windows and not taking the figures out to feel them?! Each to their own but that´s ocd

Yeah I wasn’t on the line from the beginning but you can definitely see a huge change in strategy. I really like (for the most part) what they are doing now versus those early designs based on (was it Overwatch ?)
Its impressive to take one of the most aesthetically pleasing characters in Storm Shadow and make him look like a mummy from a B movie. Unbelievable how dirty they did him with that figure. Its beyond awful
Even in the video when I see it cobra sapenter I get all bummed out because I still don't have it!!! I feel like a little kid tugging on my moms trousers ta take me ta toys R us that also has split the scene!!!
My biggest complaint GI Joe classified, is size of box. More then half I got I opened. Box can be smaller. I mean small-er. So much of empty waisted space. I’m glad my last three figures box is smaller. But again. Don’t need looking amo box with name. Such waisted space.
Yeah I would just with they would make up their minds. Hasbro has been doing this for a very long time so I’d expect packaging to be on point. Although it’s super-large I still love 00 snake eyes packaging.
Some of the figures look more like Comic Book SUperheros than actual military. I would prefer actual military style uniforms, gear and weapons rather than all the superhero crap.
100% agree. In fact I wouldn’t have even started collecting them if they looked like a video game or super heroes. The Joes should look closer to military. My favorite Cobras, like the standard soldiers, firefly, Major Blud and even Destro all look somewhat believable. I like realistic weapons too.
Nice video, im so glad i (i get it) open my figures i just want to find their postures, to me their like a rubiks cube a puzzle to find the right pose📸. I do admire unopened perfect creases on the box....... Wait you keep blind box unopened 😬 i bought the 3 pack cobra vipers from Amazon and as i opened it something wasn't right. Ive been figure swapped, almost out of $90 butone of the reasons i stopped buying blind boxes.
I can’t wrap my head around the figure swap thing- so people return the package for a refund and put something else in the box? That’s crazy. Yeah if I had more room I might open them- they are so cool to pose etc
I have doubles of every character and I enjoy the way all the boxes look together but you are missing the 00 Snake Eyes, the most crucial character that started the line. I also can’t wait to set up my 7 of each army builder armies, I had to go all in on this line and it is nice to not have to wait until my birthday or Christmas as a kid to get these figures when I can get all of them right now
Around 38:50 I show the 00 snake eyes. That box and presentation definitely got me deeper into collecting this line. I think it’s great that people can either keep them in the box or set them up in scenes or in your case do both! I’m glad I’m all caught up and now I can just pay normal prices. Good luck collecting!

I really wish Hasbro would back the articulated 3.75 retro wave like it does this line , I just don't like the 6 inch scale for me , I like to have scenes set up and the 6 inch lane just doesn't lend itself to that in the same way 3.75 figures do .
Yeah I see the advantage of a smaller scale for sure especially when it comes to setting up scenes and vehicles. Whereas with the bigger scale you can add more details to the figures. I guess the 6 inch line just caught on fire for them and now they are basically abandoning the 3.75 - for now at least

Snake-Eyes 02 so low was a little surprising to me but was fun to watch and see another's take on them.

Collecting boxes with windows i get it, but collecting boxes without windows and not taking the figures out to feel them?! Each to their own but that´s ocd
@@maddrop I’m glad they changed back. Ive opened one or two and really liked the figures. I was impressed with tunnel rat for example. (Accidentally ordered two)
Wish they gave serpentor a yelling head like the one you see on the packaging but he's a great figure overall

Yeah I wasn’t on the line from the beginning but you can definitely see a huge change in strategy. I really like (for the most part) what they are doing now versus those early designs based on (was it Overwatch ?)

Its impressive to take one of the most aesthetically pleasing characters in Storm Shadow and make him look like a mummy from a B movie. Unbelievable how dirty they did him with that figure. Its beyond awful
The puke colored rags don’t do him justice.
Even in the video when I see it cobra sapenter I get all bummed out because I still don't have it!!!

My biggest complaint GI Joe classified, is size of box. More then half I got I opened. Box can be smaller. I mean small-er. So much of empty waisted space. I’m glad my last three figures box is smaller. But again. Don’t need looking amo box with name. Such waisted space.
Yeah I would just with they would make up their minds. Hasbro has been doing this for a very long time so I’d expect packaging to be on point. Although it’s super-large I still love 00 snake eyes packaging.
Some of the figures look more like Comic Book SUperheros than actual military. I would prefer actual military style uniforms, gear and weapons rather than all the superhero crap.
100% agree. In fact I wouldn’t have even started collecting them if they looked like a video game or super heroes. The Joes should look closer to military. My favorite Cobras, like the standard soldiers, firefly, Major Blud and even Destro all look somewhat believable. I like realistic weapons too.

Wait you keep blind box unopened 😬 i bought the 3 pack cobra vipers from Amazon and as i opened it something wasn't right. Ive been figure swapped, almost out of $90 butone of the reasons i stopped buying blind boxes.
I can’t wrap my head around the figure swap thing- so people return the package for a refund and put something else in the box? That’s crazy. Yeah if I had more room I might open them- they are so cool to pose etc

I have doubles of every character and I enjoy the way all the boxes look together but you are missing the 00 Snake Eyes, the most crucial character that started the line. I also can’t wait to set up my 7 of each army builder armies, I had to go all in on this line and it is nice to not have to wait until my birthday or Christmas as a kid to get these figures when I can get all of them right now
Around 38:50 I show the 00 snake eyes. That box and presentation definitely got me deeper into collecting this line. I think it’s great that people can either keep them in the box or set them up in scenes or in your case do both! I’m glad I’m all caught up and now I can just pay normal prices. Good luck collecting!
@@goofygamers177 My bad, I must have missed that part as I was working while watching. This line is definitely the one to collect, so much better than the 3.34 inch figures. Let's just hope they get around to making every character.

I really wish Hasbro would back the articulated 3.75 retro wave like it does this line , I just don't like the 6 inch scale for me , I like to have scenes set up and the 6 inch lane just doesn't lend itself to that in the same way 3.75 figures do .
Yeah I see the advantage of a smaller scale for sure especially when it comes to setting up scenes and vehicles. Whereas with the bigger scale you can add more details to the figures. I guess the 6 inch line just caught on fire for them and now they are basically abandoning the 3.75 - for now at least
