As a Japanese I’m happy you to try Japanese language. ARIGATOU/Thank you. Ubi decided to make only the kid office apologize for head's mistake and sell the goods is included stolen images. Shame on them.
Thanks for the video. Thanks for understanding. Many Japanese like fictional characters based on Yasuke. I was looking forward to a story in which Yasuke is the main character and gradually becomes successful in Japan. If it is fiction, we accept it. Even if it portrays Japan in a strange way, we enjoy it. But UBI and Lockley lied about it being Japanese history. Had UBI apologized for the fabrication, we would not be offended. please remember, the Japanese do not hate YASUKE.
Yasuke's story should have been treated as a separate game going through his real struggles like taking away from his homeland and being a slave, finding his place by a good/evil Christian master and coming to war-hardened Japan and being envolved into the civil war but somehow survived and leave (or maybe found a love one and stay, or got a cause to sacrifice himself). With the success of Ghost of Tsushima and the Shogun drama series, even non-Japanese audiences became savvy about how they should treat Japanese history and culture. The bar is set so high now, but UBI is so lazy and didn't even hire a single Japanese writer or artist. In the AC lore, Shao Jun (from China and Embers) brought the brotherhood and he taught a Japanese orphan boy Kotetsu (so seemingly he brought back the brotherhood to Japan). UBI threw away all that and made the protagonist of this game to be the historical figure (for the first time), non-local (for the first time) and non-assassin (for the first time). What else is there if it's not for some sort of (well, Sweet Baby) agenda in making that decision? Good video, good luck! Arigato!
Yasuke was meant to be a symbol of friendship between Mozambique and Japan, not a symbol of cruelty committed outside the battlefield, such as in front of a residential area.UBI has messed things up.UBI is an affront to everything.(Google Translation)
In his book, Thomas Lockley writes, without citing a primary source, that "it was popular among notable people in Japan to enslave black people as a symbol of their authority." He goes on to claim that "the Jesuits were against enslaving black people, but the Japanese wanted to enslave black people. Black slavery originated in Japan." When Japanese people argued against this baseless information, David Atkinson, a British man living in Japan, said, "Show us evidence that it is not true," which was devil's proof, angering Japanese. Japanese are in a difficult position because white people living in Japan want to import Woke ideology and critical race theory into Japan.
Yasuke was not a samurai, but there is no denying that he was the first African to leave his mark on Japanese history.
i'm western european and I'm so pissed at what ubi is doing that i don't have words. Just like myself, AC fans have been pretty much demanding an AC Japan for YEARS, because tbh it's as perfect of a setting as it gets for a stealth game (and i've seen many japanese commenting that choosing a samurai for such a game is just stupid, when you have other options to pick from that are just as popular and way more fitting. If they wanted the samurai route, a ronin would have made much more sense and give depth to the story). The way they went on about it has completely disregarded its players and is so obviously pushed by the woke and DEI agenda that it's disgusting. What they don't understand is, with crap like this, instead of making the black community more relevant, they're doubling the criticism and distaste. I'm not going to say that I'm well versed in african history, but even a quick research into brazilian carnival opened my eyes to aspects of african culture that aren't well known, but are very rich and interesting (to anyone interested, look up the different groups and performances in the carnivals, like Afoxé, Maracatu or Blocos afros). Also, Africa is incredibly BIG, and has an incredibly LONG history; why does no one do the bare minimum effort to represent their real history in entertainment? AC origins was one of my favorite games, and I'd more than happily play one set in the Kingdoms of Kush or Aksum, or the Mali or Songhai Empires, to state a few. What do wokes get by forcefully pushing the rewriting of historically proven facts, such as the race of historical figures, or rewriting the relevance of other figures in history. IMO the ultimate goal is to push hate because otherwise it doesn't make even the most basic sense As a side note, I 100% agree with how interesting it would have been if they mixed in japanese folklore. Also japanese mythology would be so dope. Man, japanese culture is so rich, but they had to go and butcher a highly anticipated game so miserably
He was forced to give up the sword and then they decided to not kill him and sent him away. If he had been a samurai he would have been beheaded instead.
Published screenshots as of May suggested Nobunaga might member of Templar. If so, Yasuke as main character of AC series have to fight against Nobunaga. Oh, no way. They had done derailed from the historical materials.

Apology is not enough, kids say I'm sorry and do it again, watch and see, Save your heritage Japan cause so many heritages have been ruined in this way.
As I have said many times, the Japanese who are criticizing or are angry are not because the main character is black, but because of the reason why UBI chose Yasuke.
The only way to make that apology valid? Cancel the game and denounce connections to sweet baby inc and anything related to DEI. But we all know thats not gonna happen.
I have previously written about discrimination against Japanese people. This time, I will write about the Player. The developers have stated that no AI was used in previous Assassin's Creed games, including this one, until it was revealed. If that is the case, the price would be reasonable. However, Shadows just happens to be themed around Japan. Japanese people, who do not tolerate cutting corners, are finding the AI parts one after another. I believe that there were probably many parts of the previous works that were AI as well. In other words, Assassin's Creed is expensive compared to other games. However, you players who are defending it are also being made fun of and ripped off. I do not care how expensive it is if it is original and of high quality. However, I am not willing to pay a single yen for a fake, no matter how well it is made. And this is the exact reason why foreign anime and games are not popular at all in Japan. For us Japanese, who pursue the ultimate in expressiveness and skill, foreign anime and games are …。
You know what would have been great. If Yasuke was DLC characters and instead of being sent back to the Jesuit, he end up staying in Japan and roam Japan as warrior. I think that would have worked perfectly.
I don't know, I've always loved Japan and its culture and I'm aware of the historical inaccuracies of the game, I'm really sorry for the japanese gamers who are feeling bad about it, but honestly I'd really like to play the game anyway. I take it for what it is, a fantasy game set in a historical background. I've never expected it to be a history lecture, as well as any other AC game after all. I just hope that Ubisoft represented the environment (design, architecture, costumes and manners etc.) as faithful to history as possible in the actual game (because I know that they've made some embarassing mistakes in the trailer). I also hope that Ubisoft will be more honest and admit their mistakes, for I'm sure that all this mess was caused by a bad reception of the fact that in the interviews they presented the game as historically accurate when in reality it is only partially so (obviously!). On the other hand I think that gamers may have taken their statements too literally. I'm surely worried about the "DEI at all costs" politics that nowadays afflict the entertainment industry, but in this case I also thought that, at least, if there would be an intelligent and honest way to force inclusion in a product, it would be by exploiting the right context. We agree that Yasuke couldn't have been an actual samurai, for there's no document that clearly states this, but he existed and imho there's nothing wrong in romanticizing his figure in a game that already contains a large fantasy component. Rather, if I were a japanese politician, I would intervene on Thomas Lockley "fanficion" about Yasuke that - for real - has been passed as real history (to the point that the Wikipedia page was edited according to his narrative). Moreover, lots of people are complaining that this is the first AC where you play a character who's not native of the culture in which the game is set, but this is not entirely true since there's also Naoe, who's japanese! And btw I gather that you can even play the entire game with just one character. Personally I like them both. Of course there's also who's disappointed about the historical inaccuracy of the concept of shinobi, but honestly, tell me a game where shinobi are potrayed in a historically accurate way! As I said I understand the japanese gamers but there are also thousands of games about feudal Japan and samurai that are even less accurate than this one. And it's never been a problem. So I don't want to sound disrespectful but I think that maybe we're going a little too far, even considering the undeniable collection of mistakes made by Ubisoft, which I still hope they will fix as much as they can.
Although I understand Japanese people wanting a game in Japan to be about a Japanese person we cant ignore the fact that this whole blow up is rooted in racism against black people. AC is a self proclaimed Historical FICTION (not non-fiction) meaning the only thing that has to be real is the setting as seen in Origins when you fight Anubis. Nioh is a historical fiction game as well based on William Adams who although was named a Samurai it was only due to the fact that he was a merchant who had value. Never did he fight in any war. That game received 0 backlash from Japanese people because the main character was white.
I know that there are some racists hiding and acting like they are for Japan, I would be stupid and naive if didn't think that in the world we live in today. William Adams's history is more well documented than Yasuke's and that is the gray area that this whole issue is in. If there was more concrete proof for Yasuke than just a few titles it would be more clear if they had valid concerns other than the misrepresentation of their history and culture of that time period.
