2020 model looks great. The 2019 X8 has become my go-to drone... 115 flights, 321 cumulative flight miles, 5.6km range achieved. Either model,you can’t go wrong. Another strong plus - no geofencing.
Owned it for 2 weeks, 9 flights so far with tons of video, getting an hour of footage on 2 batteries and I have it max'd to 5km range and 500m height. 500m height no problem, i am getting maybe 2.5km range however i am in northern cal suburbia, i did buy the antenna extensions, super cheap but they do make a big difference in preventing it defaulting to "fail safe return" way too early. Sport mode is super fast and the gimbal is very good. Really good drone and i would rate well above the DJI mavic mini. Best drone on the market right now is Autel Evo 2, then the DJI mavic 2 .... .and i think this Fimi 2020 is a super close 3rd, maybe i got a good one based on other reivews.

The FIMI won out, because it has some features I need that the MM lacks. •It can handle much higher wind. • There's no need to get stressed and return or land immediately if a mist or light sprinkle shows up. •It has good lights, so it can be flown and be seen from early dawn to late dusk, and at night. • Fixed wing mode is just fun. • It is compatible with my current phone and tablet, both androids that are not compatible with the DJI Fly. No need to upgrade perfectly good devices. • A tablet can easily be mounted in the controller without a large special bracket. •The controller, with display mounted in the center, will not, can not, flop over when it is set down. -Yes, there are other pros and cons with each, but one niggling issue I have with FIMI is that it should be more stable when hovering. Hopefully, this issue can be solved with firmware refinements. (Are you reading this, XIAOMI?) Well, if so, about that not-included camera/gimbal cover. Really?
@@DroneViewsMedia guess you never used the DJI mavic air 2. The gimbal flops down in sport mode making the footage unusable if you want a horizon shot. Emailed them four times for returns. Got 0 replies. Called them twice for returns they tell you to email them which I have but they cannot help. Now the return window expired. The RTH kicks in at 17 minutes for me which is far less flight time then stated on paper (even in good conditions). Also the app crashes 2-3 times per flight. So I am pretty sure DJI would ship a product out like that because they have.
I'm not a DJI fanboy by any means, but I haven't experienced that with my Mavic Air 2. I have had several DJI drones, and also the Autel Evo, so I do like healthy competition to bring the price down.
Great video! When you bring it home with RTH, make sure you have the “precision landing” feature turned on. It will then sense the landing pad and be spot on. I am 100% with my precision landing on the landing pad.

Everything is compatible aside from having to lengthen a few wires if you use 20 arm's on a 18 version. Everything else is compatible batteries exactly the same. Camera firmware etc is different between 18 and 20 but that's to be expected. Some early 18's used a 2 pieces motherboard where as later around late 2019 became 1 piece so as long as you don't get somehow ahold of a very early 18 model some difference in the motherboard layout.

Literally the only down side I've found with my 2020 in particular, is the occasional horizon tilt, but with mine, it's so minimal it's difficult to tell if it's the gimbal or if it's the horizon itself. I'm going to bank on the gimbal since a lot of people are having gimbal issues. This video actually shows the gimbal issue 100%. It IS a gimbal issue that can't be fixed with just recalibration unfortunately, it requires a firmware update for sure. Even with manual gimbal adjustments, the gimbal gets thrown off whenever you yaw left or right.
What would you recommend? The Hubson Zino 2 Plus or the Fimi X8 SE 2020? Getting ready to make decision but need your expert advise on this. Tough decision ! I know the Fimi comes with signal boosters. Any signal boosters for the Hubson ?

I’m having a hard time finding a iPad holder for my controller. One thing I’m sick of is every single drone accessory makes it a point to state its compatibility with dji drones regardless of its dimensions. I saw more accessories say “for the bugs b4w” then I do now with the fimi2020. I have an iPad Air 4 10.9 does any one have a suggestion on where i might get a holder for my controller or which “dji” one will fit flat like on the FIMI controller ? I love the FIMI x8 and the main reason I want to use my tablet is there’s no way to sync my flight log between my phone and tablet so I’d rather use my tablet to view the flight logs later. Thank you

Don't buy the zino 2, I had it and it has a lot of problems. Mine lost connection and flew off to the sea to be never seen again. RTH didn't work and I had to file a charge back to get my money back. The drone was 3 weeks old. I am going to get fimi.
Had the Zino2....no more Hubsan for me. It was a letdown from the gittgo with the constant updates...finally bricked itself with the last update and Hubsan C/S is shyte to say the least. Sent it off to QC guy and he couldn't even fix it ..It cured my drone fever for awhile but now wife is asking what I want for Christmas....Hmmmm.
Don’t buy Hubsan, I have the zino pro + it’s been junk from the first day, battery life is under 50% of what they say, toilet bowling so many times, always losing usb connection. I’m seriously thinking about the x8 now. Wish I had found it before!
I have the 2018/19 version and for the most part, it’s been a great drone, except that gimbal horizon issue. Sad to see it’s Still an issue. But for the price, you can still expect a quality machine. The saturation on mine isn’t bad because you can adjust most settings then forget about it.

As For Downloading Videos Without Removing Card, Get A Data Cable That Can Connect The Drone To A PC.. Switch The Drone On.. The Drone SD Card Will Pop Up In Ur Computer And You Can Get Your HD Contents..
i managed to crash this drone into my gf's grandfathers house with full force as I pressed forward instead of upwards (my fault entirely) and the drone survived the impact remarkably well. i just had to replace the two propellers that got wrecked from the impact and the drone was good to go. hardly a scratch on it and it didnt damage the camera at all, which was a concern since i hit the house head on. so i can vouch that this thing is built like a tank.
Its about 4 and a half miles according to dustin dunnill and is a quarter off the price of the mavic 2. But it really depends on where you live and the network interference

The horizon tilt is a deal breaker for me. DJI won't ship a product with a defect like that

The 1/2.3 sensor on the 2019 is actually a little bigger then the 1/2.6 sensor on the 2020 version!
Yes, you're right. Sensor 2020 is smaller. A lot of people in videos or on websites tell the opposite.. But it's not true.

Mavic Mini is 2.7k the 2020 Fimi just has an incredible flight time, flies in more wind than the Mavic Mini, and 4K video so its an easy win.

It does have gimbal calibration in the app which helps a ton. I used it with the new 2020 Fimi.

My hubsan zino fell into the water because the battery suddenly dropped from 21% to 8%. Don't buy it!

It’s a fantastic drone, but no matter how many gimbal calibrations you do. That gimbal will always find a way to tilt itself.
