at this time in history, 10/02, i was headed to boot camp to defend this country against the attacks of sept 11 on my home, new york. but now im back and im out honorable discharge sitting on my desk. thanks to all my brothers who payed with their life so we can enjoy everything we have in the united states. i dont know what he meant bout peaceful solutions but unfortunately there wasnt much of that :( Now in 07/11, i do know where im going as opposed to 10/02. glad im alive though. Semper Fi
It's funny to me when people commment about how he can't speak corrrectly or coherently, but yet when he plays his songs he's always on the ball, he doesn't studder or forget his train of thought and he never misses a gutiar note....It's weird how that works...
It's called "nervousness", kids. The man is still a pretty humble fella and he gets nervous on stage even after all these years...especially when he's all alone haha. He doesn't have his band behind him and he doesn't even have Timmy Reynolds with him for this one.
IMO with all the respect, my take on Dave is that energy flows freely by him, he uses the "patterns and forms" that linear language and even his own music gives him, only to make a path of least resistance to the point he want's to make at a particular time. It's like "the content is more important than the form", and FOR ME this is why we are here, to transcend expectations: And after all the warm and strange talking, he ends dedicating the song to "the hopes that there is peacefull solutions"
Andre Heins Dave is too intellectually involved with the universe to be concerned with his babbling...people can say what they want, mostly, Dave can do what he wants...he’s telling a story about an experience to get it out of his head so his seismic tornado of incredibly different thoughts on everything can turn into perfection, it’s how he feels, what he’s thinking, & what he thinks it needs. How could anyone with a mind that active, while staying with beautiful thoughts not act a little high. I’m sure it’s a lifelong just right buzz to be Dave...lol
calmn down man.. CE don't indicate a fishman pickup..it just indicates that it got a cutaway and that it's electrified..don't have to be a fishman actually..:)
I have to respectfully disagree. Dave - on rare occasion - nah, a little more than rare, mutilates his lyrics. Not to go singling out one silly example but I just happened to be listening to this show in its entirety. Check out Too Much from this show 6:15 - he blows the entire second verse - and not people, he's not riffing - calm down everybody, still cool, still great, still a genius, just - not a robot. Peace and love. God this show is incredible!
Hasn't anyone ever heard of improv lmao... He changes the lyrics half the time so he doesn't have to play the same song 2000 times over and say the same lines again and again, he's trying to add another flavor to the song.
@bigpoppaa1 hes on drugs obviously.. would you play sober in front of hundreds maybe thousands of people?? you can see hes not in the state of mind socially but musically.. LIQUID COURAGE..
I love how people pretend like they KNOW whether he is, or isn't. (Please, save the rant on what a model human being Dave is). My point is - NONE OF US KNOW.
I was front row at this show! AMAZING. Still one of the best shows ever!
Thank you for serving and protecting my freedom.

The man's brain has been fried from drugs and aging, talent wealth has given him the confidence to just be and not give a fuck.. Its pretty simple.
he might be stoned, but that's just the way he is. CRAZY!
being a typical guy i don't really say things like this. but, this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
like an other look on certain things, at least i have that.
@kissmusiclover he played stairway in syracuse in 2009
he's just high, that's it, but great as usual.

if you have gotten high just once it's like a life-time effect
