Those 2040s are a good little tractor. I loved mine..good job plowing Bill, our neighbor was great at plowing to. He'd back a hay wagon with tractor too. Loaded or empty..
It might look like a junk yard, but those parts tractors are worth keeping for days like that. Years ago we had a guy in town that would rebuild starters and alternators, he went out of business and nobody took over. A decent business gone. The rebuilt parts now are not great. Thanks for the video, Bill.
Thanks for this video. I really enjoy seeing all your tractors weather they are parts tractors or plowing tractors. The video brings back many memories of the past. Thanks again and take care,
Never a dull moment on the farm . I miss our old tractors . We used to have a JD 4630, 4020, 2040 and a old JD AR plus an old 44 King Massey . Happy trails . 👍
Awesome video Bill, I didn’t know you where videoing from the future, 3/14/2025 now that’s awesome but only if you can get us back in time where things was a lot simpler and cheaper would be great lol, thanks and God Bless
I always liked the pressure relief valve on some of the old JD hydraulic pumps. Makes starting so much easier. Great video, Bill, but you best rebuild that starter before the replacement goes out. It didn't sound to happy about coming out of retirement.🤣👍🚜
bill would love to meet you been to Md. one time in late ninths I am 86 years old fell when I was 85 broke hip my 2 girls told me I have to quit enjoy videos be safe.
Hi again! Are those screws in that pulling tire bead to keep it from slipping in the rim? Also do you use a modified rim on your tire cutting set up or make sure the customer brings the tires on 9 bolt rims?
Hey those screws are indeed there to keep the tire from spinning on the rim. We can adapt other than 9 bolt rims to the tire stand, but most are on 9 bolt rims.
Another entertaining video, but how have you managed to travel back from the future with it? Do you use the slingshot around the sun method as favoured by Captain Kirk or do you have some kind of time portal in the chicken coop??
Not a farm without some chickens.Sure looks like you always have plenty of projects keeping you busy. Does your wife keep that all inventoried for you? Are you still thinking about making a move?
I didn't know you were thinking about leaving Maryland and I sure don't blame you if you do, too damn many democraps over there ! Whatever ya do and wherever you go we'll be watching ya .
Thanks for sharing the video Bill. Always something with machinery. You always have a positive attitude and that's a good thing to have.

Back in the 50's I was a boy. Dad pulled a case 3-14 mechanical trip plow with a G John Deere. I also own a 4020.

Hey Steve! Sorry you had to slow down 'cause of your broke hip. If I get down your way I'll make an effort to get together with you!
Good video Bill
I could spend a day looking at the used parts catalog! Lol
It's going to be hard leaving the parts department behind if you find a new place 😢
I love the smell of fresh plowed ground makes me think of plowing tobacco ground

How'd you know about the special chicken coop?
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 I thought that wasn't to be discussed in public......
Looks like either a 4030 or 4230 you have sitting in your junk yard :)
4030, hey, what do you mean, "junk yard"?
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 Ah, now I'm curious. Does she run? Future project perhaps?
@@nicholasbrown7068 It's one of my farm tractors that developed a rod knock and is awaiting repair, ...someday.
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 First tractor I ever drove was a 4030 Sound-gard cab
JD engineers ought to be ashamed they Jerry rigged that starter like that. Well I guess it helps keep the mechanics in hours at the dealers.
I see we met bill from the future. (Time stamp about half way through).

My wife has her hands full keeping all her stuff inventoried! Yes we are taking off some weeks this summer to look at properties in Tennessee.
