Michael Emerson is an excellent actor, so is Terry O'quinn. Any time Ben and Locke are on screen together, it's solid gold.
I like to think that Sawyer became a part of his daughter's life after finally leaving the island (he told Kate how much he had matured during his 3 years with Dharma). But Cassidy was still very bitter (when she and Kate became friends), so I suspect she might have made things difficult for him.

god i hope we get a 4k blueray later this year. the 1080p blueray looks great but the CGI is mostly horrible. even back then.
