My girlfriend (now my wife) and I were also there, right up in the gods (10/- seats). I was 17 and my wife was 16. Fabulous. Still have the programme and the ticket stubs.
Sensational! Pops is Tops, and what a band! Louis on trumpet, Trummy Young on trombone, Edmund Hall on clarinet, Billy Kyle on piano, Squire Gersh on bass, and Barrett Deems on drums. Great shots of the London audience in 1956, men and women, young and older... my favourite is the woman rhythmically stabbing the air at 2:14. Thankyou, tryjzz.
Thanks Brian.I was also in the crowd on the Saturday, a very memorable day as I had also watched Manchester City win the FA Cup in the afternoon. I was 24 at the time. Jim.

Wow! So much I have missed being of my generation... so lucky, too bad such greats like Hall and Armstrong are only with us in their music
Armstrong is divine.
