I ordered two, I'm excited for them. One is going to replace my alpaka pencil case which I use daily at work for pens, sharpies, and highlighters, but also my easily misplaced usb 2FA security key, a little pry tool, and a box cutter. I think the dividers/pockets will be nice for organization as opposed to the one big pocket that I currently have, sometimes I find myself digging around when the pry sinks down below the writing utensils. The second one I will try out as my cigarette rolling kit, which currently resides in a bellroy venture pouch, so I'll have to test it out first to see if everything will condense down into that smaller package. If it doesn't work out, I'm sure I'll find another way to put it to use, maybe contacts case/solution/backup glasses.
Having a Cap2 I always found myself over loading it with things I never needed for quick 3-4 day trips. 0.5 is perfect for those situations for some necessities like chargers and some cables, flash light etc.. the fact it lays out almost flat perfect for easy access. Bummed it sold out so quick…
Just pre-ordered a burnt orange one from Mukama (EU retailer) which should arrive in May. Think it’ll be a great first aid kit (you can easily see and access stuff without much fuss) and if I’m tight on space in my main bag I could throw some charging cables etc in as well. I’d also thought it could be a great valet tray whilst travelling to keep the inevitable mangle of accessories, keys etc organised!
I got this specifically to use as an insulin pen pouch. Ive been using the original designed pencil pouch from Alpaka but of course the Evergoods hype wins for me. I could see myself using it as my EDC device charging kit too.
at 13:25 you zip it closed and it snags. It happens to me every time and drives me crazy, but glad to know it's not me. It is preventing me from using it, though. I hope they address it in the future.
JB, Non EG question. Will there be any other color variants of your patch. I myself would love to see black and grey, black and orange and a black and purple. I passd on the half cap as it just doesnt fit my carry needs. The only thing i could see myself using it for it cables and writing gear and for the price it just wasnt worth the addition for what feels like limited usage for my day in day out needs. Always enjoy the content, keep up the great insight and information.
I can see that. As for the patch, I have quite a few available at the moment. My primary brand color is that bright green...but I'm not opposed to getting a secondary color at some point. Bottom line is not any time soon
I wonder when Evergoods will release a dedicated dop kit. I can see the potential in the CAP 0,5 as you showed us but it is a little bit to small for me.
Wish they would do a 1L version of the CAP2. (Can’t find a good use for the current flat CAP1), but someone designed like the CAP2 at half the size would be a great small tech pouch or Dopp Kit.
I loaded into my cart at launch and tried to picture my load out and couldn’t justify it over some GBG and other pouches I already have. I’m bummed it’s sold out even though I dont know what to use it for 😅
Awesome video as always. I’m actually considered blind or visually impaired so I was wondering, do all of these pouches you showed have Molle webbing on them? Or is it just the GR FP’s? Thanks!
@@JBOutside1 Perfect thanks man! Any one of these you personally prefer on a GR1? I’m guessing it’s like you said, down to use case? Trying to figure out which best fits my inside Molle on my 26L GR1 without ordering a ton of gear and shipping it all back haha. My GR1 has a QAP
I love EG, but this feels like it’s trying to solve a problem that isn’t there. It’s a padded pencil case with two pockets on the inside. It takes up too much space for how little it holds IMO.
Maybe interesting, but philips has a compact toothbrush that charges via USB c. I carry that one now. Before it was a normal one as well because my one at home is too bulky.
Does not interest me for hiking. Just adds bulk and weight for the limited space it offers. I use mostly the clear bank bags to sort my gear. They are mostly waterproof except for the zipper and being clear allows me to see everything in them easily. I try to keep things simple but effective. I have no clue what I would keep in this bag. Maybe my fire starting kit. The clear bank bags work so good I doubt I would get one of these. Sometimes dentist use the bank bags for advertising just ask for a few of them. They are cheap.
I think the design and layout of the materials promotes that lay flat position. Difficult in something that small to get everything to spring open perfectly though
You say this is a work of genius then spend 20 minutes talking about it before getting to the main problem why it's not genius at all - because it's terrible at packing anything in! It's an incredibly inefficient use of space that makes it terrible for carrying almost anything, and is much bulkier than it needs to be for almost anything!
Well, sort of. Once you find a collection of things that fit it best it’s a game changer. I have one with a set of glasses and sunglasses. The slim profile is very packable and just protective enough. I have another one with an action camera and accessories….also a great setup I really enjoy
when you look at it from the side (the square side) it is actually the evergoods logo
BOOM!! You're right! 👊🏻
:o

Nice. I needed to order more and slept on that one.

Totally agree on both points!
The 1/2 cap fits perfectly in the front pocket of my Evergoods Mountain Hip Pack 3.5L. The shape looks like it was made for it!😁
Nice!

Nice.
It fits really well in the lower front pocket on the new Alpha One Niner Evade 1.5.
Oh! Nice 👊🏻

Didn’t realize
Yeah they probably under estimated demand. Probably due to the elements pouch not being well received
Maybe. But I think it's a tough call for a small company to leverage funds for new products.
Or they intentionally limited production with the idea that “rare = special” to goose the hype
@@johnstokes5519 what like Nintendo with their hardware?
Cool reminds me of the bellboy pencil pouch but with internal pockets

I don't see them doing that actually. But maybe
I guess I need to look even closer on the Peak Design Wash Pouch Small or Bellroy Toiletry Kit.
have 3 gpp1s, 3 op1s, 2-3 of each single and double booster pods. tads pouches are beast
I really do like their stuff...I just wish they were available. It's tough to support them when nothing is available
@@JBOutside1 i agree. Hopefully this year picks up for them.
I just use a ziplock bag for my travel dope/toiletry bag. This is my go to since I can just trash it when it gets nasty.
Good point

Interesting. Based on the challenges it took to make the 0.5 I’d imaging the smaller CAP2 would be cool…yet a challenge. But I’d love to see it!

Just the Field Pockets. But most have a strip of webbing somewhere so you could attach with clips

@@kozmo7if you’re going to mount it inside a GR1 then the Field Pocket is the best. I have probably three GR1s set up that way.
@@JBOutside1 gotcha, thanks dude. That quick access pocket doesn’t get in the way of the field pocket mounted for you?
Not really. In my bullet I have it installed one row down and it allows a better use of the top pocket
Cap 0.5 is sold out even in Malaysia and restock will be in Q4 so what's the alternative while waiting for the restock?
Not that I’ve seen.

Ok. Fair enough
It’s sold out but I am anticipating the carryology classifieds are going to be flooding once people figure it has very limited use cases.
Maybe. While it is limited in capacity there's a ton of uses for it...just have to decide on the right one
@@JBOutside1 I agree some will figure out a few use cases.
The instago3 with the box accessory will fit inside ? It will be a good choice
Yes

Haha, YES!
If they make a Phoenix version (black x-pac with blaze orange interior), I’m all over it. Otherwise, my matchy matchy OCD can’t handle it.
DUDE!! Now we're talking! I would buy...probably more than one...just sayin
💯
Phoenix in the yoke pocket of my Phoenix CTB26. *Chef’s kiss*

I dont know about this one… it adds a lot of bulk around a tiny interior space. Dont really see a use case besides pens.
Gotcha. I think I need like twelve of them for all the use cases
I was waiting for reviews but they already sold out.
I know. Crazy
It’s a bougie pencil case.
But yet, so much more
J adore ce sac

What kind of person makes an half hour video about an organizational pouch?
@@nectarandice ✋🏻
Would’ve been cool if they added a spring loaded mechanism to keep the pouch open with its base flat.

Gucci priced bog standard nylon, not even Squadron, Ripstop, X-Pak or Dyneema. Hard Pass.
