Well of course xenoverse was made in 2016 and fighterz way later. Of course with 2d graphics it would've looked better thats the case with almost all dragon ball games, if xenoverse was released at the same time as fighterz it would've looked better no doubt. I play both, and I like them both. XV is my ideal Dragon Ball game and FighterZ is an excellent fighting game. XV has a slight disadvantage in terms if graphics as their model is suffers from an odd shine to it. FighterZ is so damn beautiful thanks to Arcsys' godly work, and the only thing I dislike about it is the ridiculous amount of dirt whenever characters jump(something they used in Guiltygear) If you just play one of those, be sure to try the other. They're both worth it.
@@blck4333 yes I can still recommend it. The playerbase is somewhat dying tho. There's like an average of 10 players in the multiplayer lobby(at least on PC. PSN had more players supposedly). You can still enjoy even in single player(at least I do).
@@duckblock I think it makes sense with the dirt. Do remember that everyone in Fighterz can destroy a planet if they wanted to. So the amount of strength it takes to jump highly makes sense with the dirt they destroy in the process. As for Videl, since it is Buu Saga Videl, she is in her peak of strength here so it makes sense that dirt comes off when she jumps too.

Ok I feel like I have to mention this since people keep pointing it out... FighterZ is not 2D! It's a 2.5D fighting game that uses 3D models. The animation, lighting and graphics are so good... they actually make some people think it's 2D, smh I'm not saying this to everyone, I'm just pointing this out to some people in the comments. And in the actual gameplay, "moving left and right". That's very ignorant to say... obviously you can move left, right, up or down in the air, diagonally in all 8 directions. The only ways you can't go is back for forth from the screen

I prefer Xenoverse 1 and 2 more. You genuinely feel like a Z Fighter, especially since you get to create your own character, and that’s something I’ve dreamt of for years. Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a character in DBZ and Xenoverse gave me that avenue.

I’ve never played Xenoverse. It looks a lot more open and like you’d have more control of the character than in fighterZ. However, FighterZ is so awesome to play, you truly feel like you are the character and are wielding true power. My only desire would be a more fluid/faster pace story mode, more maps, and a system where you could power up into stronger forms.
Xenoverse should have had Fighterz graphics, hell at least Burst Limit. They used too many colors for these textures and they just end up looking like chrome people
@@Grassphobic i think the reason a lot of people loved it initially, was because there really wasn't a lot of comparisons at the time. so when fighterZ was announced and now with dragonball z: kakarot, all looking way better and xenoverse 2 rushing out unfinished characters left and right, people eventually started taking notice to how bad they were being fucked by the dlc in xv2. (also the games appeal to different audiences, so no matter what someone will always die rather than admit something is worse in anyway).
XV2 has 3x the amount of characters and atleast 10x as many skills. It also has to animate things outside of the battle system AND make it all work for CaC. It's nigh impossible for them to have FZ level graphics
Say what you want about XV2, but the way it does effects for attacks is honestly beautiful..though it could learn a thing or two about auras and shading
Xv2 is a better casual game, fighterz is better competitively. Xv2 has an appropriate art style for what it wants to do, and fighterz pulls of basically the anime as it’s art style
T.K S I think he meant that the reason why the characters look like that is so that the models, especially because in xenoverse 2, you can customized a character, while in dbfz it has a better artstyle because the battle stage is linear and very updated to the current year technology, the style of dbfz fighting is comparable to the likes of tekken, street fighter and such, making it more competitive to its style. Meanwhile xv2 is an open ground fighter which makes it a more casual game, and imo i think it suits the dbz fighting well, being able to fly around your opponent and roam the area freely. So in all honesty theyre two different style of fighting games so comparing them doesnt really make sense.

Xenoverse 2 will have a slight nostalgia for me. Like when as a kid I used to see Dragon ball, I always imagined myself to be a Saiyan fighting alongside Goku. Which XV2 clearly provides. With the SSJ Blus & Blue ( Evolved) in the update arsenal, it's even more fun. Clearly gives the chills to be a comapnion of Goku & Vegeta & of all the DB series. Though FighterZ does more justice on the cutscenes though!!
I don’t think these 2 games should be compared tbh. I mean it’s just a matter of liking 2D or 3D style gameplay. Its true that fighterz has the ultimate anime graphics but xenoverse 2 has that open field when fighting(and the cac,story,costumization) which imo represents a true DBZ game,however fighterz is just perfect for those who want a good competetive,2D style gameplay that require more skill. Personally I hope xenoverse 3 has the same anime graphics and with some gameplay changes it would be the ultimate DBZ game.
This might be an unpopular opinion but I think MUI looks better in Xenoverse 2. I'm not saying it looks bad in FighterZ, but I just like the hair and aura better in Xenoverse 2
I think X2 did a great job with UI Goku! However gotta say dbfz Goku is so clean, smooth and the animations feel way more powerful then X2. Like the finishers are not even comparable X2 just adds the original kamaha while dbfz boosts it's 5x
Yes, this is the only limitation to Arc System games. Their approach to animations (which are mostly hand drawn) makes hard to do alternative skins for characters because they would have to rework all the animation again for the other skins. This too explains why they don't have in-game damage models as the fight progresses, they generally reserve damaged models for cutscenes where you finish the match with a special move.
@@mithril5155 Yes they are, but here is the catch, they have to hand draw all the animations and camera angles to adjust to each model (which is a pain the ass), meaning that the studio can't simply copy and paste to the same character with largely different attires without having to tweak all over again. This is what lead them to use different colors instead of different clothes/attires. It's not impossible to them to do different costumes but it is too much work compared to your normal 3D fighting games. I'd recommend you watching the Off Camera Secrets of Dragon Ball FighterZ from Boundary Break, and Arc System Works GDC video about their in-game models.

i have xenoverse 2, but i liked the other games and each game has its purpose, xenoverse is to create you characther of dragon ball universe with the transformations and the attacks you want, dbz kakarot is for you remember of the best moments with dbz and the fighterz even though 2d has art style and very good animations, i think xenoverse 2 fulfilled its purpose of creating your character and a 3d fighting game

the normal spirit bomb in fighterz actually does home in, if your opponent is super high on the screen the spirit bomb curves and goes up to meet them.
....I feel like I'm the only one who prefers Xenoverse... I mean don't get me wrong FighterZ is awesome and the devs did great, but I just love DBXV's Art Style, I also love FighterZ's art style for it's accuracy to the anime aesthetic. But I've always liked DBXV's Look, I always thought that the shininess on transformations looked cool, I will say that FighterZ is more accurate to the anime, But I just prefer Xenoverse for what it is.
I like FighterZ way better, for me, everything just looks too glossy in Xenoverse. I do respect your opinion however, and will say that even though I like FighterZ artstyle better, Xenoverse’s is still pretty good.
I haven't seen a lot of Xenoverse, but from what I have seen of UI, I like him in FighterZ more, in FighterZ when you hit that counter, he just slides into your DMs like he's not even trying, in Xenoverse you can see him put forth effort and for a skill that is supposed to be "you automatically dodge everything without having to think about it" I like when it feels like he's actually using the technique (also godly display looks way different in XV than FighterZ)
Everyone is comparing a 2016 game to a 2018 game. Xenoverse 2 was very limited as well being fully open 3D. They had to optimize for all systems. That doesn’t mean it looks better than fighterZ, but it has a reason to look worse.
I love both games, although I didn’t play Fighter z yet from what I seen it looks amazing! The one only thing is that in Fighter Z with the story finishers, Goku’s chi wasn’t destroyed or missing like in the story or XV2. Like the fight with Vegeta, when they did the iconic Galick Gun vs. Kamahameha, Goku should have been shirtless, same for when he gave the last blast to Freiza. Other than that the gameplay looks amazing along with the details 👍
Not to be rude to anyone, but I think Xenoverse 2 is better because there is so much room, so much gameplay, so many characters, so many possible fighting styles too, quests, skills you can get/use, and animation. This is my opinion and I just overall love xenoverse 2 style.
In Dragon Ball Fighters Z, only for UI and MUI they have got Goku's shirts off. They don't have his shirt off in any of the cinematic scenes. But Dragon Ball Xenoverse did it well.

Xenoverse 2 is a very unfinished, rushed game. I'm sorry. When Xenoverse 2 came out, I thought it was the greatest dbz game ever made, but by the time DLC 8 came out, i realized that maybe Fighterz was a better game. Once I tried fighterz, there was no going back.

This Video isn't about Graphics it's about Animations in wich Xenoverse clearly wins... atleast it doesn't lag the entire Time and runs on 10fps like FighterZ... the Animations take their Time and aren't Short Assed like in FighterZ... plus FighterZ may look like the Manga/Anime but some of these Faces especially Goku's look horribly!
FighterZ is more just a fight by game that happens to have DB characters, and Xenoverse 2 feels like a more traditional love letter Dragon Ball game. The animations and attacks look a lot better in XV2 imo and most things just happen too fast in DBFZ to be enjoyable in my opinion.
It's sort of hard to compare the two. Xenoverse is a slower-paced arena fighter with over 100 characters. That's a LOT. The art style and majority of the animations just aren't as clean, but that's to be expected. The amount of characters and attacks in the game is just phenomenal. FighterZ is a rapid-paced 2.5D fighting game. The animations are mostly quick and to the point, and very very expressive. The art style is also faithful to the anime, which is a plus for most. As for which game is better, that's completely up to preference.
Watching this has made me realize how much I hate the way the Japanese actor portrays Goku, it sounds like he's trying to do a good job but I just personally believe that Goku's English actor just fits him so much better.

and fighterz is meant to look good but on the other side dbx is meant to let you do whatever u whant with your character like: habilites, masters, looks, a good story, and the masters i mentioned before are customizable, a extended roster ,etc. it is almost a sandbox game, almost.
The one thing XV2 does really good is the battle damaged costumes for characters. For instance during the Frieza vs Goku fight in Namek. You can see the anime accurate battle damaged Goku which I really like in Dbz games. The First game to do so was Budokai 1. But as a 2016 game Dbz XV2 still really does hold up real good. Just waiting for the ultimate comparison between Dbz XV2, Fighter Z and Tenkaichi 4.

I prefer Xenoverse 1 and 2 more. You genuinely feel like a Z Fighter, especially since you get to create your own character, and that’s something I’ve dreamt of for years. Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a character in DBZ and Xenoverse gave me that avenue.

I’ve never played Xenoverse. It looks a lot more open and like you’d have more control of the character than in fighterZ. However, FighterZ is so awesome to play, you truly feel like you are the character and are wielding true power. My only desire would be a more fluid/faster pace story mode, more maps, and a system where you could power up into stronger forms.

@@Grassphobic i think the reason a lot of people loved it initially, was because there really wasn't a lot of comparisons at the time. so when fighterZ was announced and now with dragonball z: kakarot, all looking way better and xenoverse 2 rushing out unfinished characters left and right, people eventually started taking notice to how bad they were being fucked by the dlc in xv2. (also the games appeal to different audiences, so no matter what someone will always die rather than admit something is worse in anyway).
XV2 has 3x the amount of characters and atleast 10x as many skills. It also has to animate things outside of the battle system AND make it all work for CaC. It's nigh impossible for them to have FZ level graphics

T.K S I think he meant that the reason why the characters look like that is so that the models, especially because in xenoverse 2, you can customized a character, while in dbfz it has a better artstyle because the battle stage is linear and very updated to the current year technology, the style of dbfz fighting is comparable to the likes of tekken, street fighter and such, making it more competitive to its style. Meanwhile xv2 is an open ground fighter which makes it a more casual game, and imo i think it suits the dbz fighting well, being able to fly around your opponent and roam the area freely. So in all honesty theyre two different style of fighting games so comparing them doesnt really make sense.

Xenoverse 2 will have a slight nostalgia for me. Like when as a kid I used to see Dragon ball, I always imagined myself to be a Saiyan fighting alongside Goku. Which XV2 clearly provides. With the SSJ Blus & Blue ( Evolved) in the update arsenal, it's even more fun. Clearly gives the chills to be a comapnion of Goku & Vegeta & of all the DB series. Though FighterZ does more justice on the cutscenes though!!

I don’t think these 2 games should be compared tbh. I mean it’s just a matter of liking 2D or 3D style gameplay. Its true that fighterz has the ultimate anime graphics but xenoverse 2 has that open field when fighting(and the cac,story,costumization) which imo represents a true DBZ game,however fighterz is just perfect for those who want a good competetive,2D style gameplay that require more skill. Personally I hope xenoverse 3 has the same anime graphics and with some gameplay changes it would be the ultimate DBZ game.

Yes, this is the only limitation to Arc System games. Their approach to animations (which are mostly hand drawn) makes hard to do alternative skins for characters because they would have to rework all the animation again for the other skins. This too explains why they don't have in-game damage models as the fight progresses, they generally reserve damaged models for cutscenes where you finish the match with a special move.

@@mithril5155 Yes they are, but here is the catch, they have to hand draw all the animations and camera angles to adjust to each model (which is a pain the ass), meaning that the studio can't simply copy and paste to the same character with largely different attires without having to tweak all over again. This is what lead them to use different colors instead of different clothes/attires. It's not impossible to them to do different costumes but it is too much work compared to your normal 3D fighting games.
I'd recommend you watching the Off Camera Secrets of Dragon Ball FighterZ from Boundary Break, and Arc System Works GDC video about their in-game models.

i have xenoverse 2, but i liked the other games and each game has its purpose, xenoverse is to create you characther of dragon ball universe with the transformations and the attacks you want, dbz kakarot is for you remember of the best moments with dbz and the fighterz even though 2d has art style and very good animations, i think xenoverse 2 fulfilled its purpose of creating your character and a 3d fighting game

I haven't seen a lot of Xenoverse, but from what I have seen of UI, I like him in FighterZ more, in FighterZ when you hit that counter, he just slides into your DMs like he's not even trying, in Xenoverse you can see him put forth effort and for a skill that is supposed to be "you automatically dodge everything without having to think about it" I like when it feels like he's actually using the technique (also godly display looks way different in XV than FighterZ)
Everyone is comparing a 2016 game to a 2018 game. Xenoverse 2 was very limited as well being fully open 3D. They had to optimize for all systems. That doesn’t mean it looks better than fighterZ, but it has a reason to look worse.

I love both games, although I didn’t play Fighter z yet from what I seen it looks amazing! The one only thing is that in Fighter Z with the story finishers, Goku’s chi wasn’t destroyed or missing like in the story or XV2. Like the fight with Vegeta, when they did the iconic Galick Gun vs. Kamahameha, Goku should have been shirtless, same for when he gave the last blast to Freiza. Other than that the gameplay looks amazing along with the details 👍
Not to be rude to anyone, but I think Xenoverse 2 is better because there is so much room, so much gameplay, so many characters, so many possible fighting styles too, quests, skills you can get/use, and animation. This is my opinion and I just overall love xenoverse 2 style.

FighterZ is more just a fight by game that happens to have DB characters, and Xenoverse 2 feels like a more traditional love letter Dragon Ball game. The animations and attacks look a lot better in XV2 imo and most things just happen too fast in DBFZ to be enjoyable in my opinion.

It's sort of hard to compare the two. Xenoverse is a slower-paced arena fighter with over 100 characters. That's a LOT. The art style and majority of the animations just aren't as clean, but that's to be expected. The amount of characters and attacks in the game is just phenomenal. FighterZ is a rapid-paced 2.5D fighting game. The animations are mostly quick and to the point, and very very expressive. The art style is also faithful to the anime, which is a plus for most. As for which game is better, that's completely up to preference.

Watching this has made me realize how much I hate the way the Japanese actor portrays Goku, it sounds like he's trying to do a good job but I just personally believe that Goku's English actor just fits him so much better.
If u we’re 3 months into the future there would be something called free dlc 11 in dbx2 they came out with something called divine kamehameha it’s just sliding kamehameha and it works perfectly.

This is making me so excited for xenoverse 3 how beautiful ultra instinct goku is goin to look and how brand new the animations will be these 2016 animations and graphics are outdated but I still love the gameplay so much better than fighterz but fighterz obviously looks so clean

fighters is legit the dBz art style, like exactly, I get preferring the game play of xenoverse but I’m sorry, saying that DBX looks better than Fighterz is the equivalent of saying that it looks better than the anime, which it doesn’t

and fighterz is meant to look good but on the other side dbx is meant to let you do whatever u whant with your character like: habilites, masters, looks, a good story, and the masters i mentioned before are
customizable, a extended roster ,etc. it is almost a sandbox game, almost.

The one thing XV2 does really good is the battle damaged costumes for characters. For instance during the Frieza vs Goku fight in Namek. You can see the anime accurate battle damaged Goku which I really like in Dbz games. The First game to do so was Budokai 1. But as a 2016 game Dbz XV2 still really does hold up real good. Just waiting for the ultimate comparison between Dbz XV2, Fighter Z and Tenkaichi 4.

You can't even create combos or learn a character as an individual in Xenoverse because all the "characters" which are just skins, play the same, lol. That's why you can just equip moves to anyone in that game like it's nothing.😂 He sounds like someone born in 2005 and doesn't know how REAL fighting games work. He needs to learn the difference between competitive fighting games and arena brawlers.
Dude you are being stupid,1 I play fighterz since launch and I've never had any glitch problem, 2 each character has a unique moveset, unlike xenoverse, what? Xenoverse has 80+ characters? it's a shame almost all of them play the same, and wym with move at the speed of light? Did arcsys release dyspo without us knowing?
