Thank you so much for this video, it helps greatly:) Me and my friend hope to get moss balls together and name them Fredrick(Fred for short) and George, like the Weasley twins from Harry Potter lol.
They're doing really well! I posted a short video a little while back about how I've been adding carbonated water when I swap out the water they're in and they seem to respond to that really well! I got mine from a shop on Etsy and was super happy with my purchasing experience!
I'm not sure how long it would last! There was definitely a little bit of moisture in the package and since it was in plastic I think that kept them from drying out in transit.
Hey there! not sure if you're in a state in the US affected by marimo balls with high probability of being infested with zebra mussels, but I see that you posted this video in roughly the timeframe for when the infestation was initially discovered. Be careful and please educate yourself on this topic! zebra mussels are horrible invasive species and microscopic larva can travel through any water changes you make out of contaminated water! that said since you ordered online, I hope you lucked out on a supplier whose area/supply chain wasn't affected.
Very cute, adorable 💖 so small I wanna xoxo em! Mini milk bottle perfect, I'd try to find a bottle cork for that one from Michael's or Hobby Lobby. The beer glass jeep at office do kitty x2 don't drink water.
I did, and thus far haven't noticed any issues! I mostly use filtered water straight from the fridge or sometimes I will carbonate that using a sodastream first.
I hope to purchase a couple Marimo! Thank you for making this video it helped me in my research :)
I'm happy it helped! They've definitely been one of my favorite additions to my plant collection. They're so easy to care for!
Thanks for the video! I can't wait to get a marimo bebby of my own. We shouted out "Oh my God they're so cute!" in perfect unison, lol.
I'm glad you liked it! They're seriously the cutest!! Have fun with your future marimo!!

@@MyNextHobby Great im glad to here! I will most likely buy from the same seller.
@@MyNextHobby I bought from the same seller as you just now because I was impressed haha
@@katie6323 haha how fun! enjoy your marimo!
@@MyNextHobbyCan you share the seller? I want to buy some.
How come they didn’t come in water 😳 how long do they survive without water..?
I'm not sure how long it would last! There was definitely a little bit of moisture in the package and since it was in plastic I think that kept them from drying out in transit.
Can you give the name of the shop you bought from since the listing is no longer available
Hey! Yes - I got it from this shop: www.etsy.com/shop/NorthwestKombucha but it unfortunately looks like they aren't currently selling any marimo!

great heads up! I'll have to do some digging to find out from the store I bought from.
Are they going to grow?
They will, just very slowly! They average just a few millimeters per year so it’ll be quite a while till they reach full size!
@@MyNextHobby it’s about an average of 5mm per year! It’s a slow grower!
My balls go kinda hairy after 7 years so i got some small blue diamond shimp to clean them it works whonders
Wonderful, i impulse bought one and am now researching to make sure it does well
Enjoy your marimo! They’re so low-maintenance it’s great to have at least one plant I don’t have to worry about accidentally killing haha.
Haha same!
I bought some and when I put all in water, they floated instead of falling to the bottom like yours.
their little fuzz seems to like holding onto air bubbles so they can float too! they should settle eventually.

They are cute 😍 And the packaging with the letter is so nice.
Isn't it? I love getting packages with a personal touch like that!
I just bought a big moss ball because I thought maybe she is pregnant. Can they get pregnant? What type of water does she need?
Only the moss balls with the tiny nubs on their sides are pregnant, plus they are non binary.
So that's it.
Did you use chlorinated water
I did, and thus far haven't noticed any issues! I mostly use filtered water straight from the fridge or sometimes I will carbonate that using a sodastream first.
I’m having an issue with the moss link. Who is the seller?
oh no! this is the seller: www.etsy.com/shop/NorthwestKombucha but it looks like they don't currently have any marimo!
