I am luxemburgish and it's sad to see how much changed in this location since my first visit... Great Video and this castle is definitely one of the most beautiful ones in Luxembourg. A persom who knows the family contacted me and told me that the owner died and his wife took over the castle. The family lives in Saudi Arabia and uses the castle for vacations, the last time they were in the castle was in 2015. The person also told me that he contacted the owner and the police, because there have been many break-ins since the family is in Saudi Arabia. I hope this Location won't get rushed by people with bad intentions... Greetings from Luxembourg!
The Saudi Royal Family has more than enough money to hire security for this place but they don't care. They have mansions in England that they have abandoned and there is moss in them. These mansions can be seen on You Tube.
Being an Arab, I was amazed to see these monuments, thank you for shedding light on this beautiful castle full of Arab and Islamic monuments ، All the pictures hanging on the wall are surahs from the Holy Quran written in Arabic . ❤️

I must say, this was quite interesting ! I'm Arab, but not from Saudi Arabia but we share lots of cultural similarities. When you were walking by the bathrooms I had to pause to check if the water pipe is next to the toilet lol ! We literally can't live without them ! If you visited an Arabic country in the future, you'll notice there's a pipe next to each toilet where you can spray water to clean after yourself. Another thing, the bed with the radio ! I remember my grandma had one ! It was a wooden bed with a radio in the middle (very similar to the one shown in the video) and speakers on the sides. My mum said that these beds were quite trendy back then and her sister had one too when she got married :D The heavy covers (with fur I guess?) were fascinating too! They reminded me of the olden days when the weather was colder than now and we had to use them in winter haha - sadly, they hardly exist nowadays :O ! The pots obviously show how our culture is, we can't live without our tea and Arabic coffee :D ! That explains why there were so many of them here and there :) I absolutely loved the furniture though, it seemed like this family really loved velvet ! It wasn't surprising to me to see as many hangers as there were! Arabs have bigger families, could have 7-9 children normally and might have even more! Add to that, in one household, there could be more than one family living together! So it's absolutely normal for them to live in bigger houses, own more rooms, and need more necessities. Also, I don't think this castle is abandoned honestly. It looks like they had repairment plans in mind but were on hold for God knows what reasons - maybe change in plans or postponed for later years. I also think they could come back anytime they want especially that their belongings and clothes are still there. Arabs wouldn't usually keep their stuff behind them unless they return back to them, if not, they would simply donate their unused things. But again, things happen out of one's hands sometimes, yet it could be a matter of time - so I really hope people wouldn't just assume things and judge others + keep in mind you could "own" something and decided when to use it or not because it's "yours" afterall :) Soooo, anyway! Thank you for sharing this ! You did a wonderful job :)
I really appreciate your comments. Some people here like to assume that just because they are Arabs and from a royal family they don’t care about their own belongings.
@@BA-fy8kt Excatly ! Being rich doesn't mean you're being careless or unappreciative. Thank God we were taught to give a person 70 excuses before judging... But again, some people like to be dramatic & act as if they're "know it all" :)
I would never wear those clothes again, all the molds around it. Why they leave so cluttery, unorganized. I am sure they can afford for caretaker? I am not rich but I never use plaster hangers... I throw them away..
@@myrnahall6168 One thing I can assure you is that Arabs from the Gulf region specifically are known to be very preserved people, they would NEVER leave personal documents and family pictures like that if they knew they would never return back! So, high probability, something happened and they weren't able to return for their belongings, and more importantly, they must have reasons for not taking other measures. We can't just jump into questions like why did they and why didn't they.. after all.. it's none of our business :O
The "horn" hanging on the coatrack by the fireplace in the first grand room is a Powder Horn used to hold gunpowder to load black powder into antique black powder handguns or rifles. A little lever at the top of the horn where the spout is the metal piece with the hole in it is to measure the amount of powder that you would load into the weapon.

These videos of abandoned houses made me feel sad and miserable ... a person clings to this life as if he were immortal in it .. He spends enormous wealth on building palaces and luxurious residences .. and he is keen to decorate them with all kinds of precious and rare pieces .. while he forgets that he lives A mortal, non-permanent life .. and at a moment death surprises him and leaves everything behind him as if he did not exist .. as if he had never been happy .. on the contrary, he was a servant and servant in this life .. and he did not really enjoy and was not happy in the way The correct thing for happiness .. is to taste simplicity and a sense of trivial things, perhaps every day he lives..and in helping people and animals..and getting closer to God.
You make a lot of assumptions about these people of whom you really know nothing. Their lifestyle may not conform to what you or I think of as normal but that doesn’t mean they were unkind or even arrogant people. Many Islamic cultures require you to be hospitable and welcoming to strangers and to throw open your home to any relatives that may arrive at your doorstep. You are required to give your best! Wealthy people will have double Master Suites so that when a relative arrives they have equal accommodations to the householder. We here in the west suffer from an arrogance of culture that teaches us that we are not worthy unless we are BETTER. We are not satisfied with uplifting all to an equal plane, rather we feel only those who are “deserving” should be on that better plane. I have learned in my time on earth that there is good in every culture and in all people. The more you look for and expect that good the more of it you will find. I also find that the more you see of other cultures the richer your own life becomes. The World is full of richness, why not partake of as much of it as you can?
I have watched several abandoned castle shows, this is my favorite show by fare. Well done! Please wear gloves and masks, I don’t want you to get sick. Thank you for all that you do.
I'm so amazed after watching such a great castle 🏰 the most interesting part when you turn on the light and there is still electricity overall you have done a amazing vlog 👏 I really loved it 💐
The game in the zippered case is called 'Backgammon'. "Backgammon is one of the oldest known board games. Its history can be traced back nearly 5,000 years to archaeological discoveries in Mesopotamia. It is a two-player game where each player has fifteen pieces that move between twenty-four triangles according to the roll of two dice."
Its sad to see such a beautiful home been left to decay, worth restoring it because it has amazing artwork and detailing in every inch of the house and it has a story to tell.

The symbol on the ironwork inside the carved fireplace (23:52) is called Fleur-de-lis, (French: “lily flower”) , also spelled fleur-de-lys, also called flower-de-luce, stylized emblem or device much used in ornamentation and, particularly, in heraldry, long associated with the French crown. One legend identifies it as the lily given at his baptism to Clovis, king of the Franks (466-511), by the Virgin Mary. The lily was said to have sprung from the tears shed by Eve as she left Eden. I have noticed that it has appeared in many of your videos inside of fireplaces, on wallpaper etc. There is much information to be found online regarding its symbolism throughout time.
Maureno has been in so many French castles, he should know by now that it is the Fleur - de - lis. You are correct about it appearing in many of his videos. When will he learn?
That "device" is a powder horn. It was used to hold the gun powder for old muzzle loading rifles. Antique gun enthusiasts also still use them. Cool house! Weird decor.
41:30 is called “buokhoor” it’s more of a tradition, basically it’s a specific type of wood and trees cur into small pieces and once you burn it in the “moubkhara” (the thing in the video) it will smells soo beautiful.
Thank you so much for the explanation of the tradition of “Buokhoor” and the naming of the artifact. You’ve made my understanding of Saudi Arabian Culture just a little richer!!
Hi I'm canadian with arabic language back ground , most of the writing are prayers and verses from the Holy quraan, it's part of the arabic tradition to hang those writing on the wall as a reminder to the family and visitor to read or say the prayer , the way are decorated and presented called Arabisca style, great job thanks for your wonderful vedios keep me happy during our harsh winter here n canada and especially during the lock down
That Arabic language on the top of the door was "Ayat tul kursi" it saves the house from bad things and devils and it's true I have the experience with it
The house may likely be occupied by ghosts rather than demons. Ghosts are very sentimentally attached to the place for old times sake, and they hate any new owner"s attempt to renovate the entire place. They have respect for custodians and restorers, but not anybody who comes with renovation plans.
The writings hanging on the wall are religious writings, Arabs, Turkish and even all Muslim families have this, the verses of the name of Allah are usually written.
The tapestry on door is arabic language ,La illahailallah Muhammadan rasulullah,it means There's no God except Allah, and Muhammad the messenger of Allah (i'm sorry if theres little bit make a mistake for translate 😊)
22:57 The first picture on the left is of King Abdulaziz, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while the one in the middle is his son, King Salman Abdul Aziz, born in 1935. He is the seventh king, and his son is Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since 2017 until now, and the picture on the right is of King Faisal bin Salman. When they have several 10’000 m2 palaces around the world, this is a tiny house. Luxembourg was probably an interesting place for other facts than owning a castle they surely never visited…
It is very common for saudi people, specially rich people and with those of business, to hang a picture of their beloved kings. Those 3 pictures were King Fahad, King Abdullaziz, King Salman. Saudi people loves to buy things, useful or not, specially dresses, bags and shoes, signature or not. Money is nothing for them, as long as they feel happy with it. That thing in the window, they put an aroma in it, making tha place smelling good, like incense. I love your exploration, so detailed and with history on it. Take care always.

Item at 16:20 looks like a black powder horn. For old flintlock muskets, you would store dry powder in one of these and when you needed to shoot, you would load your powder, wad (small piece of fabric or paper, and your musket ball. If your powder got wet, the musket wouldn't fire.

Thank you for this adventure. Most of the pictures are of the King of Saudi Arabia. I am surprised because they left everything and no one came back .. The book that was on the table is a book on alternative medicine, and the words on the wall are a wall from the Holy Qur’an.
I’m always afraid, when I see a video of exploration like this one, that you are basically making a list of things to take for burglars. How easy it is for them to locate the place and find the valuables.
@@Castor561 why don’t you come forward and ask to buy the castle sir ? If you want his address , very simple Prince Mohd bin Naiyef . You don’t need to miss behave .
The moment where you showed the open book explains a lot, the book talk about how to divide the wealth of a deceased one to his children and wife or husband in Islam, so I think the owner children came after the death of their father to see what can they do with this place. The picture that was on the wheelchair is for the former king of Saudi (King Fahad) that died before more than 15 years ago. The 3 pictures hanging on the wall starting from the left is King Abdulaziz the founder of Saudi Arabia, second one is King Salman who is the knig of Saudi right now, and the last one is Prince Mohammed bin Naif the crown prince at that time period. Other thing is and it strikes me the most, is how are the doors left open like this, because the third picture hanging on the wall showed the crown prince at the time period (2015-2017) so it hasn’t been so long since someone of the owners family was here, 7 years at most. ( I watched the the whole video now and saw the food you mentioned someone was there between 2018-2019) Hanging pictures of the royal family in houses like this mostly indicates that the owner was a politician. Great video.
Such an awesome place! Wish I could afford to buy that! The beautifully ornate fireplaces and the gorgeous stained glass windows! Looks to be in decent shape. So sad that they just left the family portraits behind.☹️
41:15 is an Oudh stand. They put the burning piece of coal over it and then drop some typical Arabic perfume powder or place wood pieces soaked in perfume oil over it. As it slowly burned the woody Arabian fragrance spread around. You will see that in every arab home. The perfumed powders or wooden pieces are expensive. Their women also perfume their hair with that smoke and their clothes before they leave homes, when they are about to pray or receive guests. This stand is given to the guests to take the perfume in their robes as well. Pretty much an everyday thing for them.

It’s so sad. If the comment below mine is correct, then the family in Saudi Arabia needs to understand that when you leave a castle with these kinds of expensive memories, they should expect it to be ransacked. If not there since 2015, it is a piece of eye candy for robbers. I’m surprised more has not been taken. Surveillance/police or not...it’s going to happen. Loved the explore, Maureno!
Hi Maureno, Explomo, What an interesting and very well made video! - I especially loved your wonderful introduction narration at the beginning of the video. The background story was so touching to listen. - The original interior elements, like for instance a fireplace in one of the rooms, are still very fascinating to see, and the style of the late 19th century is showing off. But naturally the later furniture, probably from the 1980ies doesn't really match to a castle of this caliber with such a historical significance, when it belonged to the founder and his family. - However I naturally enjoyed watching and following you in mind through that wonderful location. - I also loved the beautiful drone shots showing the countryside, where this castle is located. - Really wonderful to see! - You always show so much respect for the locations, you are exploring together with your friends, and the quality of your videos about your explores is outstanding. - Greetings also to Remon. So, I am already looking forward to your next explore adventure. Stay safe, dear bro! - Wishing you all the best, peace, lots of blessings and kindest regards.

The carved wooden fireplace is amazing. I see Greenman in the first fireplace but in the second one @23:27 I see Melsusine holding a cameo that appears to be dressed in Elizabethan (Holy Roman Emperor Rudolph II, the Philosopher King, often remembered painted in fruit in not unsimilar style). There seems to be an absence of common Christian themes so often found in the carvings and stained glass, (though I couldn't see if that was a cross worn on the necklace of the 'Elizabethan' cameo) The old home with mostly non-Christian themes surely made the home a more attractive buy for the Arab Muslim family. I suspect they replaced the stained glass in the main room double doors @12:05 which now has a more Arab flavor than the rest but still jives just fine, especially with the Greek key pattern seen @11:43 in the floors.

@@aligrosa2039 Brother, if it were not for the aid and money that comes from Europe to Turkey, for the sake of the Syrians, Turkey would not have received this huge number of refugees. As for the Arabs and the elderly, you do not know, they may be donors, in large quantities, but not everything is apparent.
My mum said that these beds were quite trendy back then and her sister had one too when she got married :D
The heavy covers (with fur I guess?) were fascinating too! They reminded me of the olden days when the weather was colder than now and we had to use them in winter haha - sadly, they hardly exist nowadays :O !
The pots obviously show how our culture is, we can't live without our tea and Arabic coffee :D ! That explains why there were so many of them here and there :)
I absolutely loved the furniture though, it seemed like this family really loved velvet !
But again, things happen out of one's hands sometimes, yet it could be a matter of time - so I really hope people wouldn't just assume things and judge others + keep in mind you could "own" something and decided when to use it or not because it's "yours" afterall :)
Soooo, anyway!

Its just piece of concrete...
I think they thought their offspring would live in it .
Amen
Hi pink. This happens when you have a lot of wealth and mind doesn't work on the other side ye know.
It is very beautiful what you have just said.
I have watched several abandoned castle shows, this is my favorite show by fare. Well done! Please wear gloves and masks, I don’t want you to get sick. Thank you for all that you do.

( I watched the the whole video now and saw the food you mentioned someone was there between 2018-2019)
Hanging pictures of the royal family in houses like this mostly indicates that the owner was a politician.

Loved the explore, Maureno!
Hi Maureno, Explomo, What an interesting and very well made video! - I especially loved your wonderful introduction narration
at the beginning of the video. The background story was so touching to listen. - The original interior elements, like for instance
a fireplace in one of the rooms, are still very fascinating to see, and the style of the late 19th century is showing off. But naturally
the later furniture, probably from the 1980ies doesn't really match to a castle of this caliber with such a historical significance, when
it belonged to the founder and his family. - However I naturally enjoyed watching and following you in mind through that wonderful
location. - I also loved the beautiful drone shots showing the countryside, where this castle is located. - Really wonderful to see! - You
always show so much respect for the locations, you are exploring together with your friends, and the quality of your videos about
your explores is outstanding. - Greetings also to Remon.
So, I am already looking forward to your next explore adventure.
Stay safe, dear bro! - Wishing you all the best, peace, lots of blessings and kindest regards.

I didn’t see a toilet paper hanger in that bathroom. Wonder if they hose themselves off with the water hose that was laying on the floor instead
Yes, they do. Wonder how they dry off though.
The Arabic verse is from the Holy Quran
An indeed those who disbelieve would say he is mad but it’s a reminder to the world.....
I suspect they replaced the stained glass in the main room double doors @12:05 which now has a more Arab flavor than the rest but still jives just fine, especially with the Greek key pattern seen @11:43 in the floors.
i am a Saudi and I know the story of the owner of the house.. The old man of the family died after suffering a long illness and the family collapsed after his death. 🌹
Such amazing place many items left. Just fell in love with this castle. You have wonderful videos have a great day be well. Just wonder what did happen to the family? ❤️❤️🏰🏰
The small carpet in the wall on top of stairs is a Surah a prayer from the Koran, kind of a blessing. Arabics book you read for right to left,so the start of the book is the last page at the end
I thought it said "beware trespassers, for you will be cursed!" 😂🤣😂🤣
You always manage to find the most random articles in your journeys and the backgammon game is only another odd find, not to mention the Electric keyboard. Fantastic castle, too bad there is so much water damage and it will be lost sooner than it should be. Thank you for sharing this journey with us
Hello, I am a new Arab follower. The first thing you saw was a surah from the Noble Qur’an called Surat Al-Fatihah, and the second thing you saw was also a religious thing called Surat Yassin. Muslims put it in their homes for blessing and goodness. The book was talking about the cases of the wife and half-sister and how to deal with them in a way It is correct. As for the inscription hanging above the door, it is an expression that means (There is no god but God and Muhammad is the Messenger of God).
I, personaly, think that those bedroom funitures are hidious. But they would have been high fashion, top of the range in some households 😁
It’s 80s style
There must be a caretaker or something attending the place, no plaster or rubble on the floor where ceiling has come down. An amazing and beautiful place. Such a sad tale of how it's become left alone and empty. Thank you for giving it such respect in your explore. 🥰
Yes, it doesn't look abandoned to me
Love these castle videos. Can't imagine living like that. Must of been great.
so much damage. it is so sad to see this castle left to rot. It does not look as if it was built as well as other castles that you have shown, I hope someone saves it soon.
