I think it's very fitting Elvis won his Grammys for his Gospel music or as they are also called Sacred Songs which is considered an incredibly difficult category to win.
I agree with you 💯 - and his love and respect for Gospel music just makes it more personal and heartfelt.
Of course Grammy awards for his Gospel!! Made his mother proud too in respect of her memory. But Elvis did everything wonderfully his unique, sweet and golden voice that can belt out with intense power capturing our hearts, every song with emotion and sincerety. Elvis was indeed the best. No other performer could draw the crowds close like he did. He often commented on drawing off the fans energy. He will always be remembered and missed in our hearts.😇🙏😥 The only thing I wish is that people would quit talking about his weaknesses and let his fans remember the exceptional human being he was!

The industry, like it still is today, was resentful of Elvis' connection and support for the black artists and his advocacy for equal treatment. That is why he got numerous nominations but was only successful with just three (3) Grammys - all for gospel. Not a coincidence the recent movie ELVIS was never awarded anything it was nominated for. EP deserved them all
He also had the disadvantage of the Grammy Awards being created in 1958. Elvis' biggest years were his first two years- 1956 and 1957. In each of those years, he totally owned the Billboard charts; he had 26 weeks in the #1 spot each year. Easily his 2 biggest years. Had the Grammys been created two years earlier, he would not have been denied ANYTHING!
@@presleyrules they still had numerous opportunities to award him for those earlier works if they wanted to. But, they didn't. Even his contributions up until his death were worthy of multiple Grammys. That, for me, is the absolute insult to Elvis Presley as the revolutionary musical artist that he was.....up until today - NOTHING. That's what's wrong!

Fantastic video, very informative. I knew about the Grammys he had won, the Jaycees Award, and the Lifetime Achievement award, but not the grammy nominations. Did you know Donald Trump posthumously awarded Elvis The Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1918? And none of his family were there to accept it. I think Elvis would have been thrilled to receive that award. Regardless of who the president was, whether you liked him or not, it was a great honour for Elvis, and I wish he had been alive to receive it.

The CEO of EPE was the one accepting the award and you are absolutely right. Me too.they are. Bias and uninformed, Elvis should have won very many but the bias, obviously liberal media and Grammy leadership is a joke. He isn’t only Elvis they’ve slighted. In 1972, the last year I watched, Lou Rawls won for best R&B with “ Natural Man “,( I love Rawls , but who remembers that song except Rawls fans )! The song Rawls beat was “ Let’s Stay Together “, the Al Green classic. I find those in charge seem to favor the 60s hippie type and Beatles type music and know absolutely nothing about other genres ! Haven’t watched sing 1972, mostly because the obvious bias towards Elvis !
