Even though I'm a fan of Regine, I know that Sohyang clearly wins here. Sohyang is very technical and belting-wise, I cannot deny her prowess. She's a gospel singer, and gospel singers lifts up your soul. Let's just enjoy both of them. :)

Dean Dean it's mariah carey's version bro. sorry but she was not good feeling at this performance. the first part of this song was so bad. lack of low notes, struggling in upper belts, disconected whistle register. though a new whistle part bonus but even her performance in starmall was better than that. btw, she will improve a lot in the future =))

Filipino here and first time watching So Hyang. I prefer this over Regine's. More soul, vocal techniques, Clear vocals and range. even prefer this version than Mariah's and Morisette's. So hyang gave justice to this song.

@Arzen Ryu Mariah and Mori's version are indeed phenomenal. But in terms of delivery, I prefer so hyang's since she has a lot of soul and emotion that she pour in it. While mariah and morisette are somehow (for me) showing off like 'I am the greatest' or such through their vocals.

I'm Filipino and I must say SoHyang is by far great in this performance. Her technique, her gospel style of singing, her soft tone to high notes, ugh, it's pure talent. Besides, she has a way more healthy technique because she doesn't strain her voice. I like her especially in singing this song, and also the rest of the songs she sang here on RUclips, because she can not only sing technically, but put her heart and soul while hitting the high notes. That's a fact other Filipinos must admit.

i'm a fan of Regine but i will give this to So Hyang. it gave me more Christmassy feeling and even though she was crazily belting, it was still so soothing... i know that doesn't make sense but I totally loved it.

so hyang can sing high note she gave her all and try new grounds when it comes to singing while regine has a voice quality and it delivers a sound nice to my ear, while so hyang sometimes brought something new to chill on, all in all they both talented.

세웅 Se Woong She has used numerous headvoice, almost every performance. Her headvoice support is better than most coloratura opera soprano. I am not sure what you mean by rarely used headvoice.
You should react to her rendition of "Bridge over troubled water" and "Everyone" (Everyone is a gospel song half in Korean half in English). You will truly see what she can do vocally with those songs!!
I don't care if somebody likes sohyang or regine cause everybody has the right to choose and I also don't care if the reason behind their preference includes nationalism. In fact I'd say it's fair to support their country's Singer just like we support our countries in a football match. However it's not right to say bad things about other country's singers just to make their singers supreme. There are people like them in every country but based on the comments I've seen a lot of Filipinos who does that here and it reminds me of my experience in the Philippines. I lived in the Philippines for a year to study English before I went to the US and I went to a private international school where a lot of kids were Filipinos although English was the common language in the school. I was just an elementary school student so I was indeed young but I was capable of knowing wrongs and rights and the Filipino kids were always making groups and called Koreans "onion smell" mainly to show their superiority and I considered their nature of wanting to be superior parallel between my experience and the comments. Oh and for ur information please go and take a look at a tiny little bit of statistics on the economy of Korea and Philippines before you try to act as if you are the superior country. I just have a pretty bad memory about the discrimination i experienced in the Phillipines.

No one is perfect dear. Perfection is boring though.
She's good but not perfect. There were sharp notes and screechy sounds when she tried to reach the high notes. And she doesn't have low notes. Her voice isn't that powerful, I bet if she has a concert and will sing more than 10 powerful and high belting songs, she won't even last half way through.
So Hyang is a queen, who needs whistle when you have that amazing head voice? So Hyang is incredible, she will always be the best. Please react to more of her videos.
I'm a Filipino but I must admit, So Hyang's version is waaaaaay better than Regine's! She has the voice, she can belt, she can do head tone and specially, she slay on the thing that Regine really needs to have or at least to improve... SOUL! She has a lot of soul and I can feel it throughout her performance! I'm so ashamed for those Filipinos who disliked this video because of their insecurity. This performance was perfect!

I prefer Sohyang's version but i hope Sohyang and regine stans will stop fighting and just accept that they're both amazing singers.
She has a diff.kind of pitch and this song perfectly fits hers. Her advantage towards regine is the age and the musical arrangers...both are arranged differently so i don't think i cn actually compare both fairly and this song sends msg of divinity which favors So Hyang's voice quality. If they're of the same age, same musical arrangement of the the same song. I'll dig in to say things... But they're both delivered the song in a very unique appeal. And they're both amazingly heaven sent singers. I'm a filipino and a music enthusiast and I'm giving this to So hyang's with all the aspects I've said above. If both singers would sing this on the same stage and equal factors regardless of the age gap...then I'll sort of compare. Although age brings a different maturity to vocal cords. #justsaying ilove both so thankful to God they exist to give justice of these wonderful songs 🎧💓💘🎧

I am a Filipino and have watched the video a couple of times before and yes she was amazing. I personally liked it more than Regine's performance, but of course I am also a Regine fan, I think you have presented a video of Regine that was not that captivating. I know that there's a different version of that of Regine out there. Plus the fact that the attack was different. So Hyang's version was accompanied with a different "areglo" that made it more goosebumpy than Regine's.
Maybe you should try comparing So Hyang to Morissette. Let's see who's better?
