- Jeff Ostoff shows you the latest updates on the engineering disaster aftermath of the MV Dali ship striking the Francis Scott Key Bridge causing the bridge collapse in Baltimore, Md. on the Patapsco River. The video also shows the incredible journey that lasted 2 days trying to remove a 560-ton bridge truss. You'll see more large debris and trusses that were hauled up and the final 560-ton bridge truss section that cleared the pathway for the limited access channel, a deepwater 300 ft wide, and a 35-foot deep access channel for larger ships.

They barge the bridge collapsed bridge debris to the new 10-acre laydown yard used by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to process wreckage from the Francis Scott Key Bridge site. An estimated 50,000 tons of concrete and steel collapsed; once removed, the wreckage is sorted and transported two miles away by barge to Sparrows Point. Debris and wreckage removal is ongoing in support of a top priority to safely and efficiently open the Fort McHenry channel. - Π₯ΠΎΠ±Π±ΠΈ

Stop it. Itβs not anything different than anyone else.
Hi, Iβve asked this question a few times but never gotten a real answer. Did the ship sound its horn to alert bridge workers of potential imminent danger. Is the ship required to do so? Is there time restraints on sounding the horn at nigh? π€
Jeff, does this mean that the temporary channel is clear of all debris down to the mud or just to a minimum guaranteed depth of navigable water?
I have watched your channel after other disasters like the Florida University bridge collapse and the Florida Ocean Front condominium collapse. Do you have final results on both of those disasters and the authorities conclusions?

It is just incredible how fast and efficient this clearance is going! Kudos to all the groups involved, its an organizational thing of beauty.
Amazing things happen when all people work as a single team with one aim in mind .

Well as a contractor I would do the same knowing how much money is on the line β¦..who ever got that contract Iβm sure will be at white marlin open this year in a new Viking dam sure Iβd be π

Everyone involved should be proud. The cleanup and recovery has been swift. There is alot more work to be done, but this is impressive
A lot faster than I expected.
It's amazing how much America can get done quickly when we put our minds to it. These workers are doing a great job.
I am proud to be here. I myself am from Norfolk, Virginia, but we got people from all over the states working with us. It's definitely the most interesting job I've been on. We will get it done. β€πΊπΈ
The MSM has dropped this altogether.
I live in Maryland and I want to thank you for the best coverage of the Key Bridge cleanup. I watch you all the time since Surfside Condo. Thanks again
Wow, thanks Joan!
What part of Maryland you from I live a quarter mile from the Key bridge
I've been waiting for this to drop. It's crazy that I live 20 minutes from the bridge but get more info from you guys. Thank you, sir
Happy to help!
Same. I live in Baltimore County and I'm in Edgemere for bait most days, and this is where I can get information about our bridge
How this affects your days ? You have to make a whole more trip to get to the other side now ? (sorry if my english sucks, I hope you understood my question ^^).
*I feel you bro, I live like 1.5 nautical miles from the Key Bridge in Anne Arundle County... I have crossed the Key Bridge MORE times then I can count. I still cannot believe it's gone. When it first happened I went to a hill by my house because I live right off Stoney Creek & I can see the Key Bridge pretty good from where I am and took some pictures of it, around 3 hours after the collapse.... Even looking at it in person, I still CAN NOT BELIEVE THE KEY BRIDGE IS GONE!!!*
@fridaycaliforniaa236 It's not to bad maybe 15-20 minutes more if I need to go that way I feel for the people who traveled that route daily.
SIR, This video is a literal testament to every one of you INCREDIBLY DEDICATED, COURAGEOUS and SKILLED M E N ! God Bless YOU π
So nice of you thanks!
Go Coast Guard!
How about PEOPLE instead of MEN?? How insulting to all the women involved in this effort.

Thanks, for Everyoneβs Commitments & Workβ¦Be safe.
I found your channel because of the FIU Bridge collapse, but now your brought things local, so I watch every day.
Much love from Baltimore
You are my primary source of news for key bridge status. Excellent work
Today's video was good.
They have made incredible progressβ¦
I have been following your channel for a few weeks now and am very surprised that this bridge is being cleared so quickly. I have seen this disaster on TV in Germany. Since then I have been watching your review. Because it interests me. Many thanks for your great work best regards from Germany
Thanks Jeff. I grew up just 2 miles from the bridge. Itβs been part of my life and has always been part of the landscape. Iβve really been enjoying your in-depth coverage and analysis of the whole process. I appreciate all you are doing. Great channel! Such great content.
Real good reports from the "clean up" of the damages from this deasaster! Thanks for that and greetings from Germany.
The engineering and planning to clear this mess is astounding! Thank you all!!
Thanks for our dose of updates. I thought it would take them longer. But with the right equipment and competent staff things can move quickly.
And working as a single team with one objective in mind .
In the beginning the media who has absolutely no clue how anything works was saying it would take months. I think most of knew it would take a few weeks and here we are! These crews are doing a fantastic job !
I get better news from RUclips now from experts than I ever do watching MSM news channels. Journalism has gone to pot in 24 hr news cycle days. They are talking heads reading a teleprompter. They don't even interview people well anymore or do Investigative pieces.
I still cannot believe the bridge is gone. I drove that bridge for 15 years straight for work π
Who are you telling? Itβs emotional seeing it gone, scary I was supposed to be on it that morning, and frustrating we cannot work until it is cleared.

I've been watching the Key Bridge web cam since the incident. Frankly, watching in real time is like watching paint dry. I really appreciate this condensed video showing the highlights of the past day/s. Thank you for a great video, it is MUCH appreciated!
I live in Baltimore and have been watching daily the news and updates about this bridge since it collapsed. It truly has been remarkable work that these workers have done nonstop for weeks. My hat goes off to them because I know the magnitude of this project and the teamwork it took to organize it. Iβm praying they find the last two construction workers so their families can have closure. Kudos to Gov Wes Moore heβs a true champion and leader since day one. We couldnβt ask for a more dedicated Governor. May God protect all those ppl working out on that water dsy and night. Thank you sir for giving us such great video content and info throughout this process.
I wonder how likely it could be that the 6 workers actually didn't exist. There has been such intentional confusion about their identities, limits, hiding, sometimes showing revealing all six, then not, then only four, but maybe 3, but only two. Then four. But up to six. It has been the classic switcharoo of confusion. Has anyone independently verified? The official GoFundMe still lists zero names / identities LOL. Maybe it's part of the larger trick?

Why didn't they drag that bridge and ship out of the channel and open the channel back up the unloading could resume and your ppl could work outside the channel, waste of time,GOVT MONEY AND WORK
@@dennyhawk9893 r u serious?
@Don_ECHOguy I'm am aerious, many the goal I would think would be to get this port opened back up and it appears they have dredged another channel ,not as deep or wide, never let a good catastrophe go to waste per our far left friends
yeah, strange no press release on recovering those people.
What amazing work people have done. My hat goes out to the ones out there physically doing the work to make this happen.
Glad you are still following up on this.
Really enjoying your recaps, Jeff. Thanks !!!
Thanks for the update π Love the Team work big ups to the Governor & Mayor for being hands on Deck πππ
Your coverage of this is the best I've found on the subject. Thank you.
Love the videos, cnn should hire you , best commentary on the bridge
Thanks Joel!
Jeff great job with this coverage.
Jeff the birds eye view is the very best I've seen, its wonderful. Thank you!
I was thinking that it wasn't all that safe to be working so late & in darkness when you said they'd stopped & didn't resume for about 8--10 hours. There may have bee some limitations on overtime for crane operators or boat captains/pilots, just as there are for airline pilots? In any case, it's amazing how fast & efficient this is going.
Thanks Jeff. Another well done video update on the channel clearing. Getting to be a habit, looking for your video in the evening.
I find this so amazing. Such precision. Thank you for keeping us in the loop.
"Put me in coach". Well said.
Yup, I live about 15 min from the bridge and drove over it many times to get my grandbabies. I appreciate the coverage you have on it. Its quite extensive

This is the awesomest channel on youtube.
I really appreciate your news and updates on this! Thank you very much!
All they do is boom up put a wire rope on each corner & connect the other end of wire rope to the corner of the Chesapeake 1000 barge then boom down & hoistup till the load tighten up. Good video stay safe
Wow. Just wow. Amazing.
Calm water definitely makes a big difference in smooth handling of those massive bridge trusses!! I hope they get many days of weather like today's.
Yes, the weather here has improved this week!
Thanks for the updates. Waiting to see traffic resumed...
Thank you for these excellent videos about the Key Bridge salvage operation.
These are the 'unsung hero's' most people don't even know exist but should definitely appreciate. Great update on the progress going on and anticipation of the 'Open for Business' in this area. Again it can't be overstated the loss of those men that in the same frame of mind were also 'unsung hero's' also going about their business to make the road safer for vehicular traffic.
The giant load not swaying or moving on the ride to shore is a vivid statement of how well these experts know what they are doing. This recovery is in very good hands. Our nation is lucky to have these crews.
I'm assuming they wanted to get it out of the way and then double-checked everything to make sure the load was stable and they could safely move it to sparrows point.
They have done an amazing job clearing this up.
In a tragedy comes learning ! On the up side it shows our capability and resistance , reacting quickly to resolve the mess left behind ! To everyone involved my hope and prayers of a safe operation ! πβ€οΈπΊπΈ
Tell people that Baltimoreβs tunnels are fine. Breezed through, yesterday. Traffic is cool. Gotta get the ships movin
I've been watching the traffic colors on Google maps and they look pretty rough during rush hour(s). I wonder where they are sending trucks with hazardous materials? All the way around the west/north side of 695 I guess?
@@TKevinBlanc Yep. 695 is a tough belt road. Wouldnβt go near that. The trucks stay away from 301. That tunnel has only ever been blue at 2am.

Jeff, if you did a video of an outhouse being demolished, i would watch it. You're that smooth dude
I'll get started on that right away!
YOU re the best on this JOB SITE !!!!!
Just a thought, the crane stopped suspiciously close to 1am, maybe the crane operator hit his maximum legal limit on operating heavy machinery and had to stop for the night, and the daytime/replacement crew were also fast asleep ready to commence work in the morning.
Obviously in most cases you'd just work an extra 30 minutes and get the job done, but with all the eyes on this operation, once his legal hours were up, they were up and the crane had to be temporarily abandoned.
That's a union job for sure with regulation about operating hours, and safety. They probably are taking into consideration tides, wind, weather as well.
Thanks so much Jeff. I think i could watch those tug boats all day. They are so fascinating how they move them around and turn and back up especially interesting at faster speeds make them so adorable π₯°. Lol
the main difference between this channel and the news networks is Jeff doesn't report till he's got enough info to make sense, while the news media people are so busy trying to "scoop" their competition they don't care about the details being correct.
I'm still trying to scoop the media! LOL
Yes, I hate 'Breaking News' crap where all they do is repeat the same thing over and over. Since OJ just passed away, they used to tell people what the temperature was in his cell every day, like anyone cared. good example of a waste of air. If you need to fill the space, play the weather twice.
Well done! You do this narration so well, as you had in Florida. Every other report sounds like they're reading the news from the commisariat.
Thanks man, greatly appreciated your video ππ
No problem π
Good work man.
Thank you, keep working.
These are cool reports thank you I am in New Zealand
Thanks Barry, glad you like them!
For your information, the USCG ship is not a "Cutter", but called a Buoy Tender. π€ USCG Keeper Class
jeff great content re bridge good info
Keep up the good work, but I really want to hear that they have recovered everyone, I can't imagine what the families are going through. It's absolutely the most important thing to concentrate on and I'm sure they are. I am impressed with the progress, something of this magnitude is going to take a while and safety has to be their first concern
THANK YOU !
Likely had to wait until someone was available at the drop site to transport it over. MAJOR progress !!! That picture the governor used nicely illustrated the size of that piece !!

why are they not working on getting the ship cleared and get that ship out of the main channel ? they seem to be working on everything else
You have done a fabuleux WORK
WAY TO GO GUYS!!!

I'm always amazed how they use shape charge explosives to drop a structure but uses torches to cut it up instead of shape charges to remove it quickly?
They're very efficient with their work, given the conditions.
I grew up in WatersEdge in Dundalk. My dad worked in Bethlehem Steel sparrows point shipyard they might have had to wait for the tide add sparrows point sometimes it's only 12 ft deep I used to fish there my whole life they used to have dry docks there to repair ships
Yes thought about that too, but they sat there almost 12 hours, and tide would be 6 hours max.
Also when you see the crane going past the island it's called fort Carroll that was one of our battle places to defend I've actually scuba dive with a man named James Shrewsbury and picked up cannonballs from the war of 1812 we was in the Dundalk eagle the newspaper for bringing up the cannonballs the newspaper was a Dundalk eagle and I don't know exact date it would have to be in the 91 90 era that we went scuba diving and picked up cannonballs
Jeff, where is all this steel going? Will it be melted down and re-used for the new bridge?
They say it will be recycled but I don't know who is recycling it or what happens to money from it
Nobody looked at the bridge, but once down every body curious ..π’π’ππ
Jeff...maybe in the future you might consider doing "how to pour concrete" for sidewalks, landscaping, mow strips, DRIVEWAYS and foundations the way it is supposed to be done in residential and maybe some commercial just to let us know the differences. There are way too many "driveway specialists" and building contractors who skip the essentials when it comes to surface prep and hardware needed to do the job correctly. Homes with slab foundations are cracking and have gaps on not so old driveways that consumers have paid "professionals" for and they aren't getting legitimate quality anything. Thank you.
Still missing 2 bridge workersπ’
Just a suggestion, it would be interesting to see pictures and film of when this bridge was being built. How was it supported during construction and how all of it was put in place. A true marvel of engineering.
yes good idea
I also note coast guard is crediting "unified command." Phoey on that - it's the work crews, not the REMF admin, who are doing a stellar job.
Thank you so much for the updates. Your videos are so amazing. I again with the other person that said they live right there and we get all our best info from you and Sal. I am so glad Sal (whatβs going on in shipping ). He recommended watching you and chief makoi and I know everything you guys put out us based on all facts. Thank so much. Yes for the love of God where are those two workers. Jeff do you know how man worked trucks have been brought out if the water. I know they are keeping that quiet for respect if the fallen. I saw the one shot you had. How many more vehicles are still down there. They need to get to those men. I know they are trying so hard. God give them strength. They are not updating us on that at all.
God bless the families that lost loved ones may rest in peace
