Love this video! Great info. Important too! Had the same experience with those other brands so I got my daily Oboz walking shoe right after you. Still going strong. 💪🏼 😍

I forgot to say, I love this review, because it's touching on so many points I really want to know about a pair of hiking boots. Thanks, Frugal!

When I was a landscape gardener, I bought a pair of men's hiking boots off the back wall at Walmart, mostly because I completely destroyed 3 pairs of sneakers my first year on the job. I used them for 9 years or so, until I stopped working at the campground.
I have a very hard time finding shoes that fit, because I have wide feet. I used to go into shoe stores, try on all of their shoes in my size and walk out without purchasing anything because nothing fit. I like buying from Amazon cause if they don't fit, it's really easy to send them back.

I have the same problem. Merrells come in wide sizes and I've found them very comfortable right out of the box.

Yes, about the wider feet, these boots are pretty narrow. I have a hard time buying shoes too and always want to try them on first.

Hi Frugal, great review !!! As you may remember, I was wearing Keens when you bought your first pair. I remembered the issues you had with yours, but I did not with mine. Maybe because I do not buy the all leather style and I do not hike in water which may make a big difference, not much water in the desert 😁 I put a lot of miles on that first pair of Keens, I’m on my third pair now. Yes the soles do start to come apart and mine wear on the outside heal because I pronate. The other reason I wear Keens is that it’s the widest boot I can find, I have a very wide foot plus foot surgery. That looks like an amazing boot you found, I wish it was a little wider though. I don’t hike as far or hard as I use to, so probably don’t need something that sturdy anymore. I love and miss you ❤️
    Hike 🌵✌🏼

Yes, Thanks to you and telling me about their warranty I was able to get the new pair. I wish they would have worked out because they are a little bit cheaper but I don't think I will go back now. True about the wider foot, these are pretty narrow. I love you and miss you. I hope to see you this winter!!! ❤

The wearing inside the heel is a very common problem in many, many shoes and boots. If they would put a piece of leather or other sturdy material there everyone's shoes would last longer. I learned that from the yt channel Rose Anvil. He cuts boots and shoes in half and talks about their good and bad points.

    • @FrugalRVGal

It happens really bad on any other shoes I have had.

I bought Merrell first. Wore them everyday. They lasted 3 years. O replaced them with a $30 pair from Walmart. They lasted 14 months, although I don't wear them everyday. I'm getting ready to purchase another pair from Walmart,. I should mention they aren't waterproof.
