    Just bought mine 3 days ago paid $200 American. I don’t want to take them off for the moment I put them on it was the perfect fit. I tried on Danner, Solomon and Keen and these just amazed me. The gib is fantastic and I went on a 25 mile hike with the support I needed and kept me dry in wetland. Thanks for the great review

    I have been using Lowa tibet hunter, amazing pricey but heavy' for long Alberta Rockie mountain hikes. So I bought keen 6" waterproof hikers that literally fall apart in 2 months. So 2 weeks ago I bought Oboz Bridger 8" insulated B dry wide . In last 9 days I completed 140km of hard hiking in Kananaskis Alberta. Snow above 1900 meters, below that mud rocks and all kind of trails. Wow' hands down this is my favorite hiking boot now. Ankle support is amazing and, not a single signal of any wear on them. I do use "Mink oil" for leather protection.

      Great to hear you’re getting out there and doing some serious walking 🤗🏔️😄 Lowa are a great company with a wonderful heritage and produce some good footwear, but high like boots such as the hunter will always tend to be heavier and I really designed for hunters who may be stationary on slopes and require the ankle support and underfoot support 🤔 glad to hear you’re getting on with your Oboz, I’ve only experience of the lighter footwear and always found it to fall within my expectations of the price and quality- that said I’ve had some excellent use from keen as well over the years 🤔 but again I have tended to only use their lightweight items and I’ve heard many negative things over the years about their range and I suspect we have sold the bits that work well 😉 we stocked Keen for the fit more than anything, as the ones we stocked were very wide ☺️ in the UK I think Oboz are an underrated brand 🥾 thanks for your insights and I hope you get out there and have some fantastic days on the hill 🏔️☺️🌀

    I believe you've sold the Oboz Bridger to me. l have been looking for boots for some time now and numerous videos say how good these are. Thank you for the review.

      They are a good example of a lightweight trail boot 🥾 if they suit your feet they should be good 🦶 ☺️🌀

    Thanks for taking the time. You seem to be a "happy chap"...lol
    I'm split between these oboz and the vasque breeze all terrain gtx.
    I might just do something crazy, and buy both pairs....lol
    Enjoy the hikes.
    Does anyone have an opinion regarding these two brands of boots?
    Thanks....

      Glad you found it useful ☺️ we no longer stock Oboz, (they didn’t sell well), but I still rate the brand 👍🏻 I don’t have experience of the other you mentioned 🤔 if it helps, I have many boots, but they all do a different role- so if it would be two pairs they would need to offer a point of difference over the other 😊 And I am generally happy 😄 (not always though 😉), but I find you need to find gladness in your heart and not let the dark of the world become all consuming as there is much light also 🌞 like going into the nature! 🌳😄 Enjoy your outdoors time, Andy 🏕 🏔🌀

      Wow... Pretty quick reply... Thanks...
      I've got the opportunity to buy these Oboz for $125 and the Vasque Boots for $110.
      That's insanely cheap for both of these well made boots. That's why I may just buy both of them.
      Thanks again....Enjoy Life....It's all about the love of nature.

    Is your black and white dog a border collie or and English shepherd? We have a tricolor English shepherd!

      He’s a Yorkshire farm dog 😋 he’s actually a rescue dog, who was in a poor state when we got him 😞 but he’s a big soft pudding now 😊 I would say he’s a border collie 👍🏻 enjoy your outdoors time, Andy 🏔️🌳🌀

    Would you say that the premium model would have any extra benefits?
    Mine recently got chewed up by a lawnmower, and I was wondering if I should splurge a little more.

      Hi Kilo , not sure what you mean tbh? The premium model? 🤔

    • @Systems_Scholar
      @Systems_Scholar 3 года назад +1

      I have both this pair and the premium. I like them equally. The premium has a Vibram sole, smooth thicker leather, and a tighter heal. I did find it required a bit of a break-in period, where in these did not. I feel like I’ll use the premiums most in heavy snow and if I’m carrying an extra heavy pack. Hope this helps.

    My OBOZ are easily the greatest set of boots I have ever worn. I have used so many brands yet these are soooooooooooooooooo comfy. Question...Should you use beeswax on leather boots like the OBOZ? What do you folks here use to treat leather boots like the OBOZ????>>>

    • @WildcraftBritain
      @WildcraftBritain  2 месяца назад

      I also rate the company, they produce excellent quality lightweight footwear similar to what Merrell used to produce before the fall in standards They so sadly seem to end up doing 🤔 as for leather care, in any membraned waterproof leather boot, I would recommend any care product rated for Gore-Tex 🤔 however I would avoid purely water resisting ones and try and find a cream that is rated for use with membrane boots- I rate Nikwax leather cream and Scarpa HS12 😉 to be honest I am unsure about beeswax but suspect if used sparingly it should be okay- it’s the high content dubbing that tends to damage membranes and these also tend to have solvent in them that can damage the glues that I used in modern boot constructions as these were really meant to be used with stitched leather Old Skool boots 🥾 they are very good at nourishing leather and keeping it supple but I would avoid them all but the more traditional non-membrane heavier leather boots ☺️ however in my experience of lightweight footwear the sole unit tends to die before the upper leather areas and the leather tends to be lightweight and flexible in nature and also the only thing keeping boots like this truly waterproof is the membrane 😉 lots to unpack here, and I hope this helps 👍🏻 but most of all I hope you get out there and have some wonderful outdoor experiences ⛺️🏔️☀️☺️🌀

      @@WildcraftBritain thank you..I had heard from a few people and figured the beeswax would affect something like Gore Tex and not allow any breathability, so I avoided it most of the time.
