  • ✅ Video in which we show two of the most important monuments of the city of Bijapur, also known as Vijayapura, located in the state of Karnataka in India. 🎥
First of All we show Gol Gumbaz, a tomb built by Mohammed Adil Shah, just after his accession to the throne in 1626. He wanted to build a mausoleum for himself larger than his father's one, Ibrahim Adil Shah II. The construction of this monument continued throughout the Mohammed Adil Shah regime and was not fully executed due to his untimely death in 1656. The name comes from Gola Gummata derived from Gol Gombadh which means "circular dome".
👑 Precisely the second monument that we show is Ibrahim Rauza Tomb, the mausoleum of Ibrahim Adil Shah II, built in 1627, where his mortal remains rest. It is a square structure with twin buildings decorated with delicate carvings. It was designed by the Persian architect, Malik Sandal, from whom we can see his grave in the courtyard.
