I have always homeschooled my daughter and we also belong to a large community of homeschoolers co-o.o school, so she's had tons of interaction with other kids. My daughter is now 17 years old and very well adjusted. She has plans for college and is very confident in what she wants to pursue. To have kept her away from the scrappy school system, woke curriculum, and student drama has been a major blessing and protection for her!
@The 90's Search for a homeschool community near you! You would be surprised to find out just how many there are everywhere. There's no reason for your children to loose social interactions. You could join a co-op too. Where you and/or lots of other parents teach classes on certain subjects. This usually takes place 1-3 days a week for about 4 hours, while the meat of learning is done at home. Or you could simply have your kids participate in field trips and sports where they would get some interaction. Most if not all public schools still allow homeschooled kids to participate in sports too. There are many ways to go about it.
@@nbeirne4325 Teaching children all of the things that have nothing to do with reading, writing, and arithmetic. Things that I as a parent never consented to, was never consulted about, and don't want being indoctrinated into my child. More than anything, moral and social subjects! That's my job, not the school system and they have absolutely no right to implode that on children, especially without the parent's consent.
It's been six years ever since I graduated from Scoil Muire agus Pádraig Secondary school in Swinford. Back in 2017 where I did my Transition Year and Leaving Curt. And in my Leaving Curt Exam I passed it and got 76%. But I didn't get the chance to go to college. I'm working at a shellfish farm to make money. And I'm doing driving lessons and I'm still living with my family to. So it torcher I'm going thru.
You mustnt be disheartened. If you are living at home you can do a course or degree apply as a mature student if you are over 23 . You will get a grant to pay for it. Do something you like. It only takes a few years study. Liberate yourself.
You see them going to college and can't boil an egg. Secondary school should be teaching the basics she talks about, cook a dinner, sew, washing. Should be compulsory before you leave school. Be able to cook a nutritious healthy safe meal. Wash clothes correctly, sew a button
First mom didn't mention reading writing and mathematics, just practical stuff like baking cooking etc.. When I missed a few weeks of school, the local copper came around on his bicycle to investigate why I wasn't attending.. (1975)
@@martin-kevin5218You need reading, writing, and maths to cook, sew, build, etc. Teaching these skills in context makes sense. What works for one child may not work for another. Time and budget constraints prevent the general education teacher of 35-45 pupils from teaching it all!

“Do you have a time table?” Really?! And how will you become a factory worker/tax payer without a time table? That’s the most important part of school.
I know if I have children one day? They will go to school to get a real education. But I know when they become. 13 teenagers to be exact the secondary school they will go to will be. A boarding school because I know. When you're a teenager you become very angry, rude and mean. And you do more of the opposite of what your told to. And it'll be good to send them away to one of those places. To really study and those teachers there will teach them. And then once they graduate they will go to college next. To really study on what they want to become next in there future. And graduate from there to in the end. And then they will finally be adults.

With the way schools have gone today this is looking like an increasingly good idea

Home schooling much like constitutional law attracts the attention of a mad bunch.

It's not the governments job to teach people basic life skills, it's the parents and their own responsibility.
