Will the app give you real time readings on your phone when you're not at home (does it connect to your home wi-fi)?

Yes, this connects through your wireless and is in real time. Thanks for the comment!

Why is this video titled forget test strips and the iopool people ask you to use test strips. This only checks Cy levels and PH. YOU STILL DEFINITELY NEED TEST STRIPS. IM SENDING THIS BACK.

This is just another very handy tool that saves you testing weekly, they have you calibrate the IO Pool device to start it, then the device monitors if you need to add acid (most common) also you can tell at a glance if your salt cell is spot on, or if the pool is chlorinated correctly, along with water temp. Thanks for the comment.

They must have recently updated the app. My setup instructions were poor, I ended up coming to RUclips to see how to set it up.

I think it recently changed, the instructions were pretty straight-forward and step-by-step. The main thing, they don't want you to remove the unit from the water once it's in the pool or it voids the warranty and damages some sensors. Thanks for the comment. 🌊

I looking at buying this for my new pool , there’s no subscription but probably because it only lasts two yrs .
Surely they could have put a small solar panel on its top to charge the battery .

That's a great idea, and you would think that's a possibility right? We do love that this saves us time testing and we can tell right away where the acid levels are at and water temp, plus if the salt/orp is off (needs some shock treatment). Thanks for the comment!

Never knew something like that existed

This is pretty cool and accurate. I haven't had to play the guessing game any longer when it comes to how much acid to add, or when it's time to add more shock treatment to the pool. Thanks for the comment! 🌊

I love that this tells you when your pool's PH is off, or needs a shock treatment!
