The truth is she has a higher bar ( jyp gives her ) besides Mako , Miihi , Rima and why is because she will be the unofficial vice leader of NiziU if by any chance Mako is not available . Edit....actually she and Mako has the highest bar even Miihi and Rima doesn't have that high a bar . Rio passed that on the last 2 her bar JYP expected from her . Unfortunately Yuna didnt passed the bar together with Miihi and Rima ( which I think is the 2nd highest ) .
The dance mission was one of Rio's harshest evaluations. I'm proud she didn't let herself down after that evaluation. I love she was willing to improve her mistakes every mission. From being a dancer to more of an idol, from gradually losing confidence, from being unstable, from being like an amateur singer to nailing ICY, Beyond the rainbow and Make you happy. I mean after the struggles she's already an idol
It's a undeniable truth that as you age the bar gets higher that's why in my opinion Rio and Mako has the higher expectations from JYP . And the sad reasons those older in the heats didnt even pass to go JYPe to train .
Like they (including rio and the other trainees) literally thought she would receive compliments but sadly, it's definitely different from what they expect. But that evaluation really changed and helped rio (she said it herself) I'm proud of her for following jyp's advices. I mean she's definitely the main dancer of the group rn (along mako)
Rio has been my bias since the start. I really like her ambition, her knowledge of her own strength (dance), but also doesn't refute her weaknesses and is always willing to get better. She understands what JYP says and doesn't look for excuses. I really look forward for her improvement, I am certain she will be one of the most popular member once they begin to perform in live stages (tbh what attracted me to her was also the fact that she knows she is a good dancer and wants to show it ahaha but I guess an idol's job is different lol. Also the fact that she doesn't cry of happiness ahaha i don't know I just like her)
I really love Rio, she never gave up, in my opinion she is one of the participants who made the most progress in the program. She totally deserves her debut, i hope they give her a dance break
When I saw Rio at the tryouts I loved her dancing as I’m also a dancer & she was hands down the best dancer so I fell for her. Her dancing was so underrated tht they always ranked Rio under Mako & Miihi & Rima when she was better than them but now people are appreciating her dance talents & her other talents. It hurt me when JYP criticized her for her dancing that harsh (although I kinda get where he’s coming from in some parts) but I think Rio made it her chance to grow & become better. I also believe tht if Mako wasn’t there Rio would have been the leader.
Finally someone speak truth with honesty.. Rio is the Best Dancer in Nizi (JYP himself agree with it since Mission 3., and Rio is the Greatest dance choreographer in Nizi because she's alone make most new dance routine for "Swing Baby team"..) Well if Mako not a longtime JYPE trainee in the firstplace., i'm pretty sure Rio whom the one get chosen as Nizi Leader.. Rio have really High Charisms & Leadership ability which will make people look up & listen to her.. (And she's funny & close with all Nizi trainees too whom younger compare to her).. But i can understand JYP biased & chosen Mako as NiziU Leader., JYP can't let her company image become down if he's not chose trainee from his company to be " Leader" in any JYPE groups..

Hahaha Y'all just fallen in JYPE tactic in promote Mako so people can only think & chose Mako as Nizi Leader since Nizi project show started.. You can see the example like when JYPE team ask Rio & Maya to visit Mako dorm., JYPE already prepare many cameras in that dorm & ask other members in that dorm to go out from that dorm, so JYPE can make Video about "Mako be the only trainee whom make a food and give good treat to Rio & Maya"., all these scenes basicaly is superficial & already get planned by JYPE team so they can make Mako like an Angel whom kind/good to her members.. (Eventough the reality is Rio & Maya do cooking for other trainees in their dorms too., Maya even get called as the Best Chef in Nizi because she always cooking tasty food for all Nizi members)..
Rio wasn't my first pick during the show, but in the MV she stood out to me and now she is bias. Something about her smile, voice and dance just captivate me.
Rio caught my attention at first. But she really seemed cold for some reason. But I guess that's mostly from pressure. As she progresses in the competition, she did become more relaxed and her personality was really likeable. This is especially true in the Season 2 where she was just happy.

Am I the only one that noticed that Rio and Rima changed their voices for Make u happy? I liked their normal voices, especially Rio's voice in Swing Baby. What a shame (Also love her rap in the live version of make u happy. She was so good, especially because her dance moves were so fast and detailed and complimented really well with the rap part)
@U MI agree about the fact that because of their change of tone they all sound more similar, but I believe that in a group you also need more variations and colours. I don't necessarily think that this change was forced on them for musicality, the girls might have chosen to adopt this sound to be able to sing higher and maybe they think they sound better. I like their normal voices because I believe they might add more layer to their future songs. Maybe they will adapt their voices according to the songs, who knows. For me it is mainly personal preference because I don't like voices that sound like forced cute. Still, I don't mind too much as long as they feel satisfied and happy with it

リオちゃん後に振り返ってから話していたけど、この時は少なからずやっぱりダンスでは誰にも負けないって慢心があって「ダンサーのようだという言葉は褒め言葉ではない。歌手がダンサーのように見えては行けません。」って言われた事が自分のターニングポイントになったって言ってたね。
あと歌手になるにあたって、パクジニョンが話してくれた「真実・誠実・謙虚であれ」という教え。
真実＝隠すものがない人になれ。カメラの前でできない言葉や行動は、カメラのない場所でも絶対にしないでください。気をつけようと考えないで、気をつける必要の無い立派な人になってください。との言葉にすごく感銘を受けて、リオちゃんが友達と会った時にリオなんか性格が変わったね！と良い意味で誉められるほど、これまでの自分の人間性や性格が変われました！って話していたのがすごく印象的でした。
唯一とんがっているなあと思っていたリオ様が朴氏の指摘を素直に受け止めて一番謙虚な姿勢で一旦これまで積み重ねて来たものを置いておいて真剣に自分を磨き直して思いっきり成長を遂げた。
